You think that Murray contract is tradeable?  Sheesh. They’re not dumping their core four guys
MPJ is likely the one leaving. But maybe Jamal, I dunno.

I'll be shocked if they are both on the roster come next season.
Bring Tim Connelly back. Pay the man his money
Too late. Minny paid him.

They just did a riff of the closing scene of the Sopranos with all the Inside the NBA guy's faces stitched in. I guess that was the last regular season show for the crew?

Fuck, man. I don't want to speak for anyone else but those guys and that coverage was a huge part of my teenage years and my 20s. I think most of you are older so it probably overlays with a different period of your lives but I think we can all relate when it comes to watching the late game then leaving that channel on well into the night because it was always too good to turn off or switch to something else.

What a fucking ride it was.

So what are betting odds on the Suns hiring Mike Malone this offseason?  Seems like the kind of thing they would do to "reload" and go for a title next year.

arent they shifting to ESPN who's just broadcasting it? either way, theyve sailed on me. last night they had the western conference standing clusterfuck on the screen with all of those 48/47 teams and Chucks analysis was "the team im watching is the lakers. the lakers are 1 win away from the 3 seed"...like theres not some sort of fascinating 500 scenario dramafest 5000 developing under the top 3 seeds....and thats all he came up with? i dont think the guys even watch the games often. I loved shaq but even he cant provide anythign without shitting on someone or making it about him. Ernies the goat host tho. Chuck and Shaq, more specifically chuck has mailed it on on what got him there and hes just there to collect checks. i dont think its as good as it was 10-15 years ago even with a better NBA product now than it was then

Would be through the roof if this were to happen. Going after Hurley prior to a GM to me would indicate we plan on giving Hurley more say over roster management than not.

Damn. Turn down the Lakers for the Nuggets?

Maybe turn down the LeBron circus for Jokic?

Just a nod to P.J. Tucker who knocked down a corner 3 for the Knicks yesterday (naturally) and also (naturally) did a little goon work in standing over a Piston he fouled, after said Piston knocked down Brunson and stood over him earlier in the game.

Hopefully P.J. gets some run in the playoffs.

I could give a shit about the Knicks, but I'd watch that.

Possibly. I think the lakers were close and may have layed the tracks for the next nba team. Plus that whiny bitch didn’t win it all this year and may be struggling with nil

I would be in schadenfreude heaven and become a huge Denver hater.  Probably our 1st legit chance to watch a head coach short circuit and die on live television.

Ja is an idiot and deserves all the criticism and ridicule that comes his way (much of it from me)...

...but I'm glad he's in the league. NBA stars--to their credit--are usually very polished, homogenized, and brand-conscious. Need some "villains" out there.

Hurley def needs to get out of the college game because it is just a matter of time before he chokes a player. In the NBA it will probably be a ref.

Wasn't part of the narrative with Hurley is that both him and his wife had spent their entire lives in the NYC area and had large, close families in NJ?

Big win for Denver with Murray back. Staying out of the play in now

Also Morant was terrible down the stretch. Dude looks so ordinary right now

Clips are trying to cling to a 1 point lead with 2 seconds left. They were up 9 with 3 minutes left in the game and haven't hit a shot since then, aside from 2 free throws. Kings have the ball after stealing the inbounds pass.

Derozan gets the ball 30 feet out, tries to draw a foul jumping into zubac and doesn't get the call as time expires and he heaves up a shot with no hope. Dumb dumb dumb.

Anyway, I don't think the Clips should scare any of the top 4 seeds in the playoffs, they are super sloppy.

The Clippers have actually been among the best teams in the NBA over the past month - in fact I'll go out on a limb and predict they will win their first round playoff series.

Houston's first round opponent could be either Clippers or the Warriors (whichever team ends up 7).

If Denver beats Houston (rest presumably) and Minnesota beats Jazz

Warriors win Sunday
4 DEN 50
5 MIN 49
6 GSW 49
7 LAC 49

Clippers win Sunday
4 DEN 50
5 LAC 50
6 MIN 49
7 GSW 48

I mean this politely, what the hell are you looking at? The Twolves are firmly in the 7 seed. I believe GSW owns the tiebreaker.

Nevermind. Reading thorough the seeding scenarios right now. Carry on.

Pretty cut and dry, if Minnesota wins and Golden State loses tomorrow, Minnesota will be the 6, GS will have to participate in the play in. They both have 33 losses at the moment, hence Minny currently being in 7th via tiebreaker.

You do realize games will be played on Sunday, right?  You do know that?

The only way Minnesota finishes in the play in is if they lose to Utah (which aint happening).

GS-LAC is going to be a game 7 atmosphere tomorrow.

I have not heard of one player Utah started lasted night against OKC except for Keyontae George and Kyle Filipowski. we'll see if Ants tech is rescinded today or hes sitting tomorow bu shouldnt matter.

That chart is nuts. Denver can be anywhere 4-7 and Clippers can be 4, 5 or 7, but not 6.

Who knows what Houston is gonna trot out there. They haven’t played a starter this week, and add next week off means 2 weeks off which isn’t exactly ideal either.

I’d guess they play a quarter or half. Denver should win regardless.

It is fools gold, as it often is this time of the season when half the league plays G league level players. They lost to several playoff teams when they were full strength. Their only impressive win during that stretch was against the Cavs during their 4 game skid when Mitchell looked drunk or concussed. NYK didn't have brunson, Memphis didn't have Ja, etc...  lots of guys have been shut down towards the end of the season. They aren't that good, it's just box score analysts making hype out of nothing impressive on the court.

Another thing is they were 4-9 in their previous 13 games before this "run".

The last two have been smooth ass kickings I’d play the starters through 3.  FV needs to play. Needs to find his shooting a hurry.

He loves the game, he just hates the bullshit that comes with being a player of his caliber. He’s very Tim Duncan. When he’s done he'll retire to his horse farm, grow dreads, and eat bonbons.

He has a similar DGAF attitude about things, but he's still a bear you don't wanna poke. I don't know if TD would have ever responded like this.

No, he wouldn’t have. The only person who bowed up to Tim was Garnett and he was humbled very quickly. Some would say emasculated.

You don't get that good unless you love the game. The talent can be natural. But the work ethic, conditioning, knowledge is what happens when you love the game.

There have been so many talented guys come through the NBA who did not love the game. And they are now footnotes in history.

Now he may not love the NBA life and politics,  but he absolutely loves the game.

Jokic loves the game, just not the limelight. The guy gets better (somehow) every year which means he’s not just chilling in Serbia all summer.

Either way I see the Wolves winning at least 1 series:

- Clips win and I see Wolves beating the Lakers first round

- Warriors win and it’s practically a foregone conclusion Wolves beat the Nuggets first round

i want no piece of Denver round 1. last year we got swept by PHX in the regular season then swept them in playoffs. They know us as well as we know them. Plus i want a new team to play so selfishly im rooting for the Clippers

this game is bad ass
