Bro, just fucking retire already. The last thing we all need is you dropping dead during a game. You have nothing left to  prove. Be with your grandchildren and enjoy retirement.

We've repeatedly reached out to the Spurs over the past three days for comment.

*Gasp* you mean no one from the Spurs organization immediately called you back TMZ?

Fuck off you vultures.

I'll wait and see before declaring him unfit to coach. Lots of ways a 70 year old can end up passed out at a steakhouse.

That's probably how he'd like to go out, tbf.

Maybe they let him coach the opener or something then hang it up.

Thanks to the Miami Heat for securing another lottery pick for us. Spoelstra is doing will in his audition to replace Miller at the Mood.

Lots of interesting options at the #8 spot in the draft, assuming we don’t move up.

One of which is Tre. Or the Duke guy that’s not Flagg.

I just simmed the draft and the Spurs got the #1 pick

There would be a collective head explosion from the rest of the NBA. The BOMC from Aggie would pale in comparison.

Wings and bigs, wings and bigs, wings and bigs. How many SGs do we need?

I'm starting to believe. This Flagg shit is getting willed into existence. I'll never forget winning the Wemby lottery, but I suspect I'd attempt a backflip if we won this one. The ensuing death would at least come with a smile on my face.

Not to derail but is Edgecombe really a better prospect than Tre?

According to that website he is. Dude is a serious athlete. The Spurs need height and length in the worst way. Also shooting. Lots and lots of shooting. Bailey and Tre would fix shooting, but I’m resigned to the Spurs picking 8 and 14. Best not get too excited.

Not wild about Bailey. Seems like low iq chucker but he can definitely stroke it. Lord knows they need shooting. I saw everything I needed to see from Edgecombe in the Olympics. He’s a stud.

Big Derik Queen fan if we’re looking for a big. He’d be a great pairing with Wemby.

I saw they had a 26% chance of picking in the top 4? I’ll take it.

I really like the guy from byu and the guy from Illinois. I’d be happy with either of them.

#1321

It’s actually 28.8% chance to get top 4 thanks to addition of Atlanta pick.

We need a big too so Queen would be nice if he drops that far.

Would be wild to luck into the 1.

Wemby, Flagg, Foxx would be insane

Basketball Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich will no longer be head coach of the San Antonio Spurs and is transitioning to a full-time role as the team's president of basketball operations, sources told ESPN on Friday.

Glad I got to witness the arc of his coaching career. Especially from my wth are you doing when he took over coaching duties transitioning from managment. Proved my ass wrong. Glad he is still involved.

Relieved as a fan of the team and fan of Pop. Coaching 82 games at that pace and lifestlye is tough. I cant imagine doing it in your late 70s. I met him and hand full of other coaches at a spurs camp when I was a kid. I have always been impressed with pop and the spurs for reaching out to the community. It was way more impactful when san antonio was smaller 30 years ago. Still impressive today. Congratulations on an amazing career.

Man this hurts, but it was time. Dude is arguably the greatest NBA coach in its history. It didn’t start well, it didn’t end well, but goddamn if the highs weren’t the pinnacle of my sports fandom. Thanks for everything Pop.

#1346

Damn, I was holding on to hope that he'd be able to come back and coach these guys some more. I feel like Wemby really wanted to be coached by him.

We'll miss you, Pop. What a fucking legend.

#1348

Oh, and Mark Stein is reporting that in all probability Mitch will get the full time gig. Not ideal but whatever. Just get this team healthy and draft that Flagg kid.
