I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, but they usually lose games like this. No lead is safe until the young players play smarter Edited November 20, 20241 yr by chainsaw

He's already so fucking good on D, though. And hasn't shown anything to think his decision-making and shotmaking won't improve. I think the turnovers last night were a bit of an anomaly because OKC has such ridiculous perimeter defenders: SGA, Wallace, Dort, Caruso, Williams. They are the best in the league as a group, and maybe the best I can remember in recent memory. No weak links. And without Wemby or Vassell, there aren't many relief valves or anyone else to create shots. He had to force it a good bit. The outside shooting was off even when he got good looks, but he had been on fire from three over the previous five games. I loved it that he had the confidence to take and make that last three after throwing up so many bricks. It was a huge shot and what a confidence builder. He also didn't get any favorable calls. The rookie treatment kept him off the line probably 3-4 times. And still, he just kept playing through it all. 8 assists while taking SGA head on all night. Kid is just a winner.
November 20, 20241 yr OKC’s perimeter defense is incredible. When they get their bigs back, good fucking luck.
November 20, 20241 yr Can't believe i love CP3 now....but i do. Guy is legit and should be a coach when he's done.

Well it's the fucking Jazz so we may have enough to pull another one out. Give Barnes some Toradol and smelling-salts pregame and tell him we need another 18.

November 22, 20241 yr Author Cut it to 4 heading toward the fourth. This team continues to play hard each night. Bassey needs more minutes.
November 22, 20241 yr Author I’m sure Chris Paul’s hamstring will spontaneously explode in the near future, but that little fucker has been great. He’s not what he once was, but he’s far from washed. I’m rather shocked by him so far.

Not as much playoff success as the all-time greats ahead of him but he's Duncan/LeBronesque in his ability to squeeze regular season wins out of whatever you give him. Need to get the cavalry back, though, because he and Barnes can't keep this up all season. Must have been a nice dose of Toradol or cortisone cause that fucker had 25. Although Barnes is only 32 and has played 77, 82 and 82 the last 3 seasons. Could have sworn he was like 35. Must have good genes and/or takes care of himself.
November 22, 20241 yr It’s always good to beat the Jazz, who hail from the birthplace of that most quintessential style of American music…Salt Lake City?
November 22, 20241 yr I'm glad they stuck with Bassey instead of trying to put Collins back in down the stretch. Bassey deserves more minutes.
November 22, 20241 yr If you'd told me the Spurs would be 8-8 after losing Sochan early in the season and Wemby missing three of those games, I'd have said you were nuts. You're still nuts, of course, but now I have to back the insult with a different rationale.

He also is good at taking timeouts when he needs to.
November 24, 20241 yr I don't understand why they don't give Bassey some more minutes instead of keeping Collins in there.

November 24, 20241 yr Holy shit we came back and won???? I only checked the score once we were down 78-62.
November 26, 20241 yr Author Anybody have Harrison Barnes winning western conference player of the week on their bingo card? I can't believe Sacto gave us a first round swap to take him off their hands.
November 26, 20241 yr No kidding. Came to post that as well. Plus this tidbit: Barnes, now in his 13th season as a pro, has set an NBA record for the latest into a career a player has won a Player of the Week award for the first time and is the first Spur to get that award since DeMar DeRozan in 2020, per the team’s press release.
November 27, 20241 yr Nice 2nd quarter so far. Wesley is playing well, and we got early Mamu minutes. Now we just need to see Bassey get some playing time. Chris Paul continues to impress.
November 27, 20241 yr We've looked half-asleep all night. Need to lock in in the 4Q and get out of here with a W.
November 27, 20241 yr Solid W. Utah isn't good and we let them hang around a bit more than we should have but we keep playing good ball in the 4Q. More Mamu mins, please. Gruntled to see a DNP for Branham and Wesley play well. Wesley was a +34 in 22 mins. Good Lord. Edited November 27, 20241 yr by ztejas

I was a little bit surprised at Mamu's athleticism out there, not only the steal and breakaway dunk, but also him diving for loose balls out there. That's a ball player.
November 28, 20241 yr That's a fucking heinous non-call on AD. God I hate the Lakers. I mean seriously he commits two offensive fouls and the refs just sit there like jackasses. Edited November 28, 20241 yr by ztejas
November 28, 20241 yr Happy Thanksgiving, fuckers. Fuck the Lakers, and deliver us a win over these heathens, Gods of Basketball. Also, if any one wants to punch D’Angelo Russell in the face Kermit Washington style, please let that fist fly.
November 28, 20241 yr What is it about Anthony Davis that turns Vic into an overeager try hard. Dude, calm down, keep your hands up, stop crowding the three point line, stop spinning into double teams.
