Brilliant physical model that shows the two spin states of an electron

Stumbled across this youtube video.

In the comments, somebody gives another example of a 1/2 spin object is a four stroke Internal combustion engine.

Also, the comment "A positron is an electron moving backward in time" is shown by reversing the video when showing the positron spinning, and not just spinning it the other direction.

There's a theory that there is only 1 electron and every electron is that same one bouncing from the beginning to the end of the universe, and positrons are just that same particle bouncing back from the end to the beginning.

Ok, that one is a little above my pay grade.

I guess this is why I'm a mechanical engineer and not electrical or physics, but unless you're trying to make a point about reduction or bevel gears, I pretty much don't get it.

I have an at least rudimentary understanding of the Bohr atom and its components and understand that electrons can "run free" or semi-free.  But unless there's some kind of mechanism in the particle that somehow turns one revolution of the particle into a half revolution, I'm flummoxed.

That was my first thought.

my second thought was what the fuck is a positron

You think Einstein walked around thinking everyone was a bunch of dumb-shits?  Now you know why he built that bomb.

What has visualizing the spin of an electron ever done for anyone?  I'll tell you.  Nothing.
