I don’t know what you are referring to about not playing but yes, he made it.

He didn't play today because he didn't do well enough last week.  They said he was at his parents house in Annapolis.

At one point, he was above #30 but I guess some people dropped and he moved up as a result.

Took my 12 year old out on Sunday.  While I was happy in the club on 17 he wanted to autograph hound so  you can guess how most of the afternoon was spent. He got the gray hat from one of the Pum

Good Lord, man.

First of all - you're talking about Daniel Berger.

Second - you get 0 points for withdrawing/not playing - you can't "back your way in" to the final weekend. It's a cumulative points total, not a rolling average like the OWGR. You get more points for coming in last than for not playing.

He played today and finished and went to his parents house nearby.

Nm. Was already covered besides the fact that aqua is being a dumbass.

Gotterup was all over the early coverage because he was right there on the bubble. They probably showed 15 shots from him.

Scottie is just inevitable.

I know if I had to choose Scottie or the field next week, I'm taking Scottie, and I think the majority are with me. No idea who is pick for second.

My best friend was on the 16th hole when that occurred. Have alot of memorabilia from his time on the course. His oldest brother brought his three other brothers and father and paid for everything. Back in the day, I can’t count the number of times watching the Masters at their home. Back in the day when only the back nine was televised,

Probably the consensus 2nd best player in the world that has 3 Tour championships.

Not that Rory was very good this week.

Oh okay so he was talking about 2 different golfers.

In the backyard of his parents house in Annapolis?

They need to fix the god awful format of the playoff. Give the people what they want and make the last event match play. Keep the first 2 events the same if you want, dwindling down the player count to 30 players and then the last event in East Lake should be match play where 1 & 2 seeds get first round byes. First round 14 matches, 2nd round 8 matches, etc. and you can have the 2nd to last and last rounds on Sunday kinda like they did with dell match play so you can squeeze in more commercials to appease the TV people. Highest vs lowest seed format. 1 & 2 seeds would only need to win 4 matches and everyone else would need to win 5 to win it all. That way, it really feels like the best man wins and gives us a format we don’t get any other time during the year where it’s more direct competition. This years format is idiot cause if bridgeman goes out and has the tournament of his life, is anyone going to be content watching that? What’s the point of beating everyone in cup points all season if it gets you no competitive advantage at the end. Idk how the people at the top can get away with allowing such a shitty format to go off like this.

this all makes sense to make it match play and I agree, but TV hates it.  They are guaranteed 4 straight days of the top 10 players on the tour, and likely in the world, playing.  what happens if scottie, rory, rose, cantlay get beat in their first rounds?  TV numbers go to shit.

Here’s a breakdown of what the world No. 1 has earned this year, including bonuses (in italics):

$23,962,883: Official PGA Tour earnings

$10,000,000: Season-long FedExCup leader

$8,000,000: Comcast Business Tour Top 10 winner

$5,000,000: FEC leader after BMW Championship

That’s a total of $46,962,883, thanks to his on-course performance in 2025.

Playing for $10M next week, I believe. So that could be ~$56M. Add in another $30M in endorsements and its not hard to see Scheffler fucking around and ultimately becoming a billionaire.

FedEx winner is $20M at least (oh okay - part of that number was already included/he's already won. Didn't realize they changed how the bonuses were awarded).

Scottie is just a hair over even "vs. the field" odds. Rory the only other guy at better than 15 to 1.

Winner this week gets $10M. There are some bonuses paid out for FedEx point leaders but Scottie has already locked up 1st place.

Not this year. Here's the payout

Quote

2025 Tour Championship purse, prize money

The figures are startling, but not quite as startling for the finale as they have been in previous years given the change in the playing format and the payout structure of the FedEx Cup bonus pool. Here's a look at what the lucrative top 10 will look like at the Tour Championship.

1st: $10 million

2nd: $5 million

3rd: $3.705 million

4th: $3.2 million

5th: $2.75 million

6th: $1.9 million

7th: $1.4 million

8th: $1.065 million

9th: $900,000

10th $735,000

Now that the leader starts at even par, it makes it a bit harder to win as compared to the previous format. So I believe they shifted payments around. Scottie already won $10M for being the season long fedex up cup points leader, and picked up another $5M for leading the Fedex cup standings after the BMW.

Regarding format, I can see the merit to having some benefit for season-long performance but it also seems like how people are playing during the "playoffs" should matter, especially the lower you are in the season-long rankings.

I think something like this, top 15 in final FedEx points standings are safe regardless of finish in the "semi-final" BMW Championship and go through to the Final.

16+ in the final points standings need to have finished in the top 30 during the BMW to advance to the final.

At some point the playoff needs to be about how you're doing right now, not just how much you were favored coming into the contest.

I know the Championship has moved to low gross wins it, but I wish they would take a step toward that in the semi-final.

Great start to this tournament. Course is gettable right now and a lot of players are stepping up.

It’s always getable. East Lake is a terrible venue for such a big tournament.

Rory drops a bomb for eagle on 6 then sticks one on 7.

Scottie 3 under through 6.

I think they should play together every week.

Scottie drops one in on 10 after getting a read, Rory holes a 15 footer on 11. Both sitting at -4.

Imagine if this was match-play on Sunday...

Incredible par save by Scottie on 16.

Henley shoots 61 and made over 207 feet of putts today. LOL.

Scottie was off with his approach irons most of the day, to the point where he almost slammed his club on 17th fairway, and shot 63.

Henley just wrapped up one of the best rounds of his life…and Scottie is two back.

And we all know Henley follows it up with huhum 68s and 69s while Scottie shoots 66s and 67s.

Its over.

Henley isn't winning but it's not "over" yet. Rory just 3 back.

I like this format much better than the previous one.

Maybe cut the field one more time to maybe to 16 and then play four rounds winner take all.

Or cut it to 16 after tomorrow, reset, then two rounds winner take.

Tee times moved up today, there are guys already on the back nine - Scottie tees off in about 30 minutes. I sure hope he can keep up with {checks leaderboard} Henley today.

Henley is #4 in the world rankings!

Didn't know he and Scottie were really close. Announcers think they'll be paired up in the Ryder Cup at some point.

Henley can putt the lights out so that pairing makes sense.

They asked him about it after his round yesterday. He agreed it would be pretty funny. I’m rooting for it.

Christie was a personal favorite back in the day …

Bob MacIntyre has had a solid last couple of seasons.  The lefty from Scotland played college golf at McNeese, so I’ve paid attention to his career progression.  Recently some really close losses in big tournaments.  He’ll be a player this Ryder Cup that the paired American better bring his A game!

Hook’em!!!

I'd like to buy a beer for the guy who just yelled "HOOK'EM HORNS, SCOTTIE!" while walking up 18.
