October 6, 20241 yr Alright, after a few weeks in our new league, I know that: "In the SEC, teams just lose more" It's way too early to talk about this, but here's where things stand in the SEC after a chaos weekend: Texas, Texas A&M, and LSU are all still undefeated in conference. Â They each control their destiny. Â Win and you're in. Texas A&M has probably the easiest path. Â They play Texas and LSU at home. Â They have no remaining games agains the 1-loss bunch. Â They have games against Miss St, S Carolina and Auburn who are collectively 1-7 in the SEC. Â Should the Aggies beat LSU, there is a real chance that Texas and Texas A&M would play twice back to back. LSU has to travel to Texas A&M and all of the rest of their games are agains the 1-loss bunch. Â They have to face Alabama, Arkansas, and the Vanderbilt juggernaut. If you don't know the Texas schedule then something is wrong with you. Â Georgia is the featured attraction, but old foes loom large in OU, Arkansas, and the Aggies. Â And of course, they must face the Vanderbilt juggernaut on the road. Â Other than the Kentucky and Aggie games, Texas only faces teams in the current 1-loss bunch. The road ahead features twists and turns and maybe some potholes, but we are all out of creampuffs.
October 6, 20241 yr Embarrassing aggy twice in a row would be kinda fun. Â I think they lose before our game though. Â

The prospect of playing agricultural at a neutral site in any championship/playoff scenario should make any Longhorn giggle. Edited October 6, 20241 yr by horngrad03
October 6, 20241 yr When Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson were hanging out at #1, did a lot of their fans spend time handwringing over how hard it would be even to win their fucking conference?
October 6, 20241 yr I appreciate you setting actual expectations for aggy, as they are sure to not meet them. Your post serves as an excellent hex🤘

Any of the other one loss teams will be higher ranked. Do not see a rematch w Aggie in the cards, unless they manage to beat us, and still think we get dropped to UGA TN and Bama’s benefit.

October 6, 20241 yr 1 loss bunch..... LOL. Over half the conference has played 2 games or less.  No one should really be worrying beyond Saturday and OU. Beat OU. Then you can start pearl clutching about the rest.   Â

October 6, 20241 yr One representative will have 0 or 1 loss (us) the other will have 2. (Bama, Tenn, UGA, A&M) I think that’s your contenders. LSU will manage to lose 3 of ole miss, arky, bama, vandy, ou (while beating A&M). Ole Miss will lose 2 of LSU, ou, arky, georgia Mizzou will lose 2 of bama, ou, arky Â
October 7, 20241 yr This is just one rating system, so take it FWIW, but I like how he does his infographics. https://kfordratings.com/projections  Â
October 13, 20241 yr Author Still way too early, but Texas, LSU and Texas A&M still control their own destiny. Â Everyone else needs help. Oklahoma, Florida and Ole Miss each picked up a 2nd SEC loss and are probably out of contention, without a lot of losses and some fortunate tiebreakers. This week, LSU (at Arkansas) and Texas (vs Georgia) play 1-loss teams and try to remain perfect in league play. Â Surely A&M can take down Miss St on the road?
October 13, 20241 yr I can see aggy having issues against LSU and South Carolina. Â Too much is being made of them beating an overrated Mizzou team and translating into them beating most everyone left on their schedule before meeting up with us. Â Way too much.
October 13, 20241 yr Outside of us, the sec seems very big 12-ish this year. I wouldn't be that surprised by anyone beating anyone else.

October 14, 20241 yr From my model (which is better than that POS) far column is odds to make conference championship.

November 24, 20241 yr I can't find the other thread. Looks like if Alabama and Texas win out, then we'll play Alabama in the SEC CG. https://bball.notnothing.net/sec.php?sport=fb
November 24, 20241 yr Whoah, the link went dead but it looked like if Alabama loses tonight, then no matter what else happens, we'd see A&M in the SEC CG?

No. Aggy is obviously not in if they go L, L here down the stretch. What I'm curious about is is Texas automatically in with an aggy and Bama loss tonight?
November 24, 20241 yr We can’t be. Georgia has 2 conference losses, if we lose to A&M we will have 2, and they will have 2. We get left out for losing to both of them.Â
November 24, 20241 yr I haven't found a scenario yet where Georgia is in the game (if we win out) but the stupid tool is crashing, so I can't verify my semi-drunk clicks.
November 24, 20241 yr If Bama loses and A&M wins. It'll be wild. There's only 1 game difference between UGA and A&M in conf opponent win percentage.  Â

November 24, 20241 yr Go Gators already worked now it’s suck that tigah dick aggy and boomer schooner stupid rideÂ
November 24, 20241 yr I’m getting Texas v Texas A&M championship game for this scenario.  Is that right?
November 24, 20241 yr So now it looks real simply. We beat A&M and it is Texas vs. Georgia in the SEC title game. We lose and its Texas A&M vs. Georgia for the SEC title game. Nothing else matters. Right? Am I missing something?
November 24, 20241 yr Wow, 3 big sec losses today -- all 3 teams now have 3 losses for the season: ole miss bama aggy Â
November 24, 20241 yr Take care of business on the road and then let’s fuck Georgia’s shit up. Let’s go.Â

November 24, 20241 yr 4 minutes ago, utexas8 said: If Texas wins who do we play? If we lose next weekend do we still make it? Both teams would be 2 losses in conference so they'd go on head to head I'd imagine. Unless there's some other tie breakers involving Tennessee who would also be 2 losses if they finish out next week with a win over Vanderbilt. That said, there's nothing that team has for us. We show up to play and we win. We own both lines and have superior DBs, LBs, and skill guys. It all comes down to Quinn and Sark.Â
November 24, 20241 yr If Tennessee beats Vandy, they will be 6-2, same as Georgia. If we lose we will also be 6-2, same as aggy. I don't know enough about tiebreakers to carry this any further than that. But we aren't going to lose and I'm happy playing Georgia three times this year.
