March 22, 20205 yr I wish I could find this somewhere other than Facebook, but I can't. Everyone needs to listen. Michael McDonald fucking knocks Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" right out of the park.
April 10, 20205 yr Holy smokes, that Whole Lotta Love cover . . . wow!Yes. Has just the right amount of cowbell too. Does not need more. And talk about laying down a groove. But I guess this crew is pretty good at that.
April 11, 20205 yr This version of this song has been shared before, but I thought the video edit was poignant
April 17, 20205 yr Covid-19 parody of For The Longest Time, thought they did a great job with the lyrics..

Though for me it falls into the I don't know exactly how I feel about it category. The first three minutes or so are awesome but then it kind of stalls out. It does give you a taste of what Prince was capable of doing it just all depends on whether he felt like doing it.
April 19, 20205 yr 8 year old Yoyoka seemed pretty good at drums. SHe's now 10. Here's Communication Breakdown Here at 10 with a little Rage Against the Machine. My personal favorite. Edited April 19, 20205 yr by VABuckeye
April 20, 20205 yr She's never had a lesson and can't read sheet music. She does come from a musical family. She learned drums by sitting in the lap of the drummer in her dads band. I love how loose she is when she plays but how accurate her timing is. It's like playing drums is a game to her. A game that she is exceptional at.

April 21, 20205 yr ...is fucking horrible. Prince may be the most overrated musician of our generation, and he’s quickly becoming the most overrated guitarist. I don’t agree. He’s not an all world guitar player by any stretch and I do think he gets more credit than he should because he is actually better than people would think Prince would be. But that cover had a good groove. Which is what they do. And I think they do it really well. But you know, that’s just like my opinion man.
April 21, 20205 yr Larkin Poe are two sisters from Atlanta who are both easy on the eyes and quite talented:

Right. That’s basically where I am. He’s a better player than most of us assumed, but he’s not world class. Prince is a good example of overrating the underrated. And everything else in your post falls within the “agree to disagree on subjective taste” realm. Which is fine.
April 21, 20205 yr I could do without the Cookie Monster part but all in all damn good job on a hard tune to cover.
May 12, 20205 yr Something a little different, guess this woman is the Stadium organist for the White Sox... Edited May 12, 20205 yr by Underdog
May 15, 20205 yr As far as Yes goes, I can take 'em or leave 'em, but holy smokes this bass player fucking nailed it. Thanks to Rich Brotherton for the link:
May 16, 20205 yr Ended up at a Yes concert at random in high school - was called in to chaperone some girls (dad was supposed to, he got sick, called me 2 hours before the show). Seats right above the corner of the stage...holy shit, it was a great show.
May 20, 20205 yr Who is that jumping in with backing vocals? (Not Michael Anthony, the guy who looks kinda like James Hetfield.)
May 26, 20205 yr Don't care if it's been posted, I went down a Zevon rabbit hole recently and in this clip, Dawes just flat fucking nails it:
June 1, 20205 yr I love how this cover has more drive than the Allman Bros. original Studio and live versions presented (live version has Flirtin' With Disaster as the finale). Edited June 1, 20205 yr by deadshank
June 1, 20205 yr I use that "Dreams I'll Never See" cover to help audition new audio equipment. It has tons of clarity and just sounds fantastic. CSB: I was editor of our HS newspaper my junior and senior years, and a buddy and I printed "press passes" to see if we could get into a local rock show at the university (minor Kansas City hitmakers Shooting Star). To our surprise, those passes worked, and we got to interview the band before the show. We ended up getting on their good side, and they'd call to let us know when they'd be coming through our small town, etc. One day my buddy gets a call and their guitarist says "hey, we're opening up for Molly Hatchet at the big arena in St. Louis, want some tix and backstage passes for the show?" Oh yell yes! We were probably 17 at the time. Drove up, got our goods at will call, saw the show, and headed backstage. Holy shit. I'll just say a Molly Hatchet backstage scene was everything you might expect ~ 1980. I grew up about 4 years that night. Edited June 1, 20205 yr by jimmyjazz
