I use that "Dreams I'll Never See" cover to help audition new audio equipment.  It has tons of clarity and just sounds fantastic. CSB:  I was editor of our HS newspaper my junior and senior years

Heh . . . Miles Davis, playing just a bit sharp.  That never happens.  Man, he had taste, though. This isn't a cover, but I don't care, if you have the time, rewind to the beginning of the clip t

She's a great singer, they are a good band, it's just a shame they don't have a really good songwriter on board.

I don't mind their originals.  Her lyrics are kinda forced at times, but whatever.

I just want to know who was playing guitar on that track, because she wasn't, nor was the carboard cutout.

Cardboard cutout Tom Petty was clearly playing lead.

She;s cave woman from the eyebrows down.  She's one of those half heads.  One half normal, one half wtf.

Yeah, she's disgusting.

Yeah...She’s dreamgirl material. Curves, classic look, that voice. But, Surly. If she’s got a crooked earlobe, she’s hideous.

I've never heard this before . . . a friend is on drums . . . Robert Palmer covering Devo, absolutely smokin'.  That's apparently Nuno B on guitar, wow:

My summary:

Robert Palmer:  Meth

Soundgarden:  Heroin

She knew she had to have lowered expectations.  With a face like that your choices are limited and you end up with a chubby hubby like this guy.  Poor girl.

In those pictures he definitely out kicked his coverage. Probably a handsome stud when she married him, and was lucky to have him. That's the explanation I give to Mrs. CHIEF about our relationship after 27 years.

CHIEF

Kind of a "Carly Simon meets Scarlett Johansen" thing going on.

been enjoying this bowie cover of neil young lately.

Everything these girls do is gold

I had no idea that Rodney Crowell wrote and originally cut this one.  Thus, this is a cover, and a great one at that:

Not the full song, but this is a really good interpretation:

Forbert has to be one of the best one hit wonders of all time, but this cover is just magnificent

Brandi Carlile is working with Soundgarden:

I'm not sure I dig the subdued vibe, as the original has such a vibrant energy to it, but yeah, it's a good cover.

I saw Steve Forbert once.  It was at the Texas Union bar, on a first date with an absolutely out-of-my-league smokin' hot cheerleader for University of Arkansas.  Best week of my life.  She ended up with a Pig football player.  I'm pretty sure I had a higher SAT than him, though, so ha!  Her loss.  Errr . . .

Good call on their part.  She's one of the few singers I can think of who absolutely goes for it in the upper registers like Cornell did.

Album out of Barry Gibb's work, with covers/duets by the likes of Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlille, Alison Krauss, and Dolly Parton:

One of the great songs of cinema, with a twist.  I won't even get into the implications, they don't matter, the lyrics are universal:

Innocuous white funk-ish cover of McCartney's "Arrow" (but she sings the melody better than Paul did, he kinda outwrote his vocal skill on this one).  Her band is as dorky as it gets, but it's a solid cover of a terrific song:
