October 14, 20241 yr #1 Texas dismantles a spare ass oklahoma team to the tune of 34-3 and will now turn their attention to a real football team. Next up, the game we've all been waiting for as #5 Georgia travels to DKR for a top 5 match up at 6:30 on ABC.

October 14, 20241 yr We add Sark’s recruiting prowess to what Schlossnagle is doing and the baseball team will be unstoppable.
October 14, 20241 yr Author fuck, Derek Williams is out for the year. 2 minutes ago, Red Five said: What was the question? had to do with Billy Bowman saying Texas didn't earn the win and similar comments from the spare ass Michigan QB after that game.

October 14, 20241 yr Coach said Williams is out for the season. Getting surgery in a few weeks. That sucks for him, ugh. I thought Sark’s demeanor was a bit different today. Seemed more serious and focused, if that makes sense.

October 14, 20241 yr Author Vanderbilit game will be either 2:30 on ABC or 3:15 on the SEC Network. We won't know until Saturday night. Vandy plays Ball State this week. There is a real chance that they'll be 5-2 and possibly ranked when we travel to Nashville.

He's got to be on their ass all week to make sure they put OU behind them and focus on UGA. I bet he's gonna be a hard ass.
October 14, 20241 yr With Williams out, who will backup Taafe at FS? Warren Roberson? Edited October 14, 20241 yr by pacman

October 14, 20241 yr Intro Offensively not best effort especially first quarter. Defense bailed us out on some short fields and settled it down. 200+years in 2nd quarter. Complimentaty football special teams high level. 5 sacks 30 pressures on qb after they turned game one dimensional. Sacked us first play of game then they didn't get another the whole game. Proud of them not giving up the touchdown. More work to do. Georgia is coming. Fuck Kirby smart he's a bitch and they have had their run we are going to end it Saturday. Need DKR rocking with home field advantage another night game and F1 and Gameday. Focus on task at hand and not what you are talking about. Control what you can control. Question 1: When you look at the defense as an offensive mind what impresses you the most? That they aren't one dimensional. Where are the holes? Can't run it cuz our holes fill up. Well they don't give up explosive passes only one this weekend. Well pass rush is getting home if you go zero set. Will get the rest later having some connection issues.

October 14, 20241 yr Judging by the offseason, somewhere around 85% of posters on Surly are NFL hall of fame level football experts. I am not. Can someone explain to me how we play our safeties. Do Jelani McDonald and Williams play the same role?

October 14, 20241 yr Re: Williams injury Suppose Black and Rubell will see more time. Quote Texas burned another redshirt in its win over Oklahoma, with true freshman defensive lineman Alex January appearing in his fifth game. He joins Ryan Wingo, Kobe Black, Jerrick Gibson, Colin Simmons, Ty'Anthony Smith and Michael Kern on the list of freshman Longhorns who are no longer eligible to redshirt. Black's participation was notable. The Longhorns hadn't given him any run on defense since Week 4, but he came in to play 18 snaps against Oklahoma. Texas also turned to another freshman in Jordon Johnson-Rubell for some significant snaps in the secondary. He played 18 snaps – mostly at free safety. https://eu.statesman.com/story/sports/college/longhorns/football/2024/10/14/texas-football-oklahoma-film-review-quinn-ewers-red-river-rivalry/75518542007/ (link may be paywalled)

October 14, 20241 yr 3 hours ago, pacman said: With Williams out, who will backup Taafe at FS? Warren Roberson? My understanding is that Roberson has been working mostly, if not exclusively, at corner. With Williams out, my guess is that safety will primarily be a three-player rotation between Taafe, Mukuba, and McDonald. However, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Johnson-Rubell gets into that mix as well. I think those are your four main players at safety now that Williams is hurt.
