Ownership/front office thought we caught lightning in a bottle, couldn't repeat, and needed dry powder for the 'big free agents' (which of course, never materialized). So it was a big mistake but at least you could see the argument. In this case, not only did they trade a beloved international superstar entering his prime that got you to the finals last year, but they got a terrible return and then shit all over him for literally no reason on the way out. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it in sports. And I wish nothing but the worst for those 2 assholes. I don't see myself ever rooting for this team again unless both are gone or at least Nico is gone and Adelson does a massive mea culpa for ruining the franchise. I think Nico will be out by the summer after this team misses the playoffs. Who would have guessed that Mark Cuban was the voice of reason in the room between him and Nico? I wouldn't hold your breath on a mea culpa from the Adelsons. They care about the casino and that's it. I'm very interested to see how poor the attendance is going to be next season. That is the only thing that might get any attention from these people.

I bet season ticket sales fall off a cliff. I'll be interested to hear from season ticket holder friends what they do about pricing. If they were smart they offer up a decrease as a 'loyalty' gesture but my bet is on another material increase given how tone deaf they have shown to be about everything else the last 2 weeks.
February 11Feb 11 Author Eye roll. Whatever. You bought the team mid season. You were a fan of the team for 6 months before we made the finals.
February 11Feb 11 6 months ago I had never heard of the Dallas Mavericks. Now I am so depressed they lost in the finals.

Talk about a quote from someone that has been handed 100% of the "success" he's ever had in life but has convinced himself he deserves it. Fuck that guy.
February 11Feb 11 Someone needs to ask him what Brian Cardinals # and nickname was so you know if he’s a real one or not

February 12Feb 12 Ask him why Brad Davis has his number retired, because no one really knows the answer to that.
February 13Feb 13 Don't know how they pulled that out last night, but these dudes are still playing very hard. If they can pull out one more miracle win tonight, vibes in the locker room would be pretty damn good going into the break.

February 13Feb 13 "Obviously, [Lakers general manager] Rob Pelinka even said it in his press conference introducing Luka, that it was a gift. And I think that's how a lot of my colleagues — don't want to speak for them — but how we all kind of felt.”
February 13Feb 13 Author I was watching Luka last night and had our game on another scren. As much as I hate the front office and want them to fail, I can't help but admire and be proud of how hard the team has been playing. Nico and Dumont don't deserve them.
February 14Feb 14 Author No AD. No lively. No PJ. No gafford. No Dwight. No Kyrie. No Caleb Martin. And we come out with the win. We've got ourselves quite the plucky group.

Hard to not cheer for them even after being gutted by Judas Nico and the owners. And they're just to good, even missing half the roster, to lose games and tank.

I wonder if Kyrie has really matured enough to lead these guys and if the rest of the team can gut through being "hurt". sometimes you gotta play through some pain.

February 22Feb 22 Just circling back to say FUCK this dead ass franchise.I still cannot believe that a single action has completely destroyed my love of not just my favorite team, but the entire NBA.

February 22Feb 22 The guys keep winning with zero bigs. Doesn’t seem like it can continue on long term, but maybe they can squeeze out enough wins by the time Davis comes back.

February 23Feb 23 And they blew the doors off Denver to end their 9 game win streak. Welcome to the inevitable. It just gets worse from here.
