And you were not making the comparison or defending the trade but it’s worth mentioning that Anthony Davis has only played 70 games once since 2018, when he was 25. That's where I was even when it happened. I get the logic behind wanting to move off Luca but you traded for him for......Anthony Davis? M'kay. Poetic that he got hurt the first game in Dallas. Speaking of that, they're bringing him back last night to compete for that #10 spot. Why?

March 25Mar 25 But that fat Stooges look alike is still out there saying that it was a "win now" trade. I hope there is someone on the inside that is willing to leak the real motivation for the trade to either confirm many of our suspicions or if there is something we never even thought about. Literally nobody thinks that trade was anything but intentional to tank the franchise, period. OKC has built an arsenal of draft picks through trades of far less talented players, and we got jack fucking shit for one of the top 3 players in the world and likely a top 50 player alltime by the time his career is over. With nothing of note in return. There is not a single objective explanation that has any merit that the trade made any sense for anyone who truly cared about the franchise's short and long term success, period.
March 25Mar 25 The explanation that they will never say, but is obvious, is that they didn’t want to pay him the $345 super max contract given his injury history, lack of conditioning, hookah and beer addictions, etc. Better to trade him now for what you can get. That was their reasoning. Not saying I agree with it but there it is.The moving to Vegas theory seems rather far fetched IMO.

Pelinka treated Nico like a dad treats his 6 year old in a family fantasy football league. “oh, you really like the Cowboys. So I’ll trade you Brandon Aubrey for Ja’Marr Chase”.

Nah they did the right thing 2 years ago by tanking, but there's really no reason to now. They're 12th in lottery odds now, and won't get any higher. Making the play in and getting bounce early or even the first round wouldn't make too much of a difference between 12th and 16th in the draft. Remember, this team has NEVER EVER moved up in the draft. Only stayed pat or fallen. They won't risk the conspiracy theory angle by all of sudden making the Mavs get a Top 4 pick or they'll never hear the end of it anyways.

March 25Mar 25 I get that...i just don't see them moving. I've been watching since the lottery was a thing. We'll get more out of seeing AD/Lively/Gafford healthy and with the team than not IMO.

It would have been bigger than 2010 with the LeBron extravaganza, except with Luka, teams could actually control their odds by offering more than another team. There was no reason whatsoever to trade him for an aging, often injured player on the wrong side of 30 on a random Saturday night. Are you telling me that is the best they could do?

Just telling you what these idiots were thinking. Didn’t say they were right or they couldn’t have done better. I think everyone here agrees, they totally phucked it up.
March 26Mar 26 I'm guessing this was Luka at halftime of Finals Game 3 last year, except it was an IPA and a hookah, and Nico had had enough.
March 27Mar 27 Watching Luka be the best player on the Lakers makes me want to die. Fuck you Nico and fuck you fail son Dumont.

April 1Apr 1 Had a friend (longtime season ticket holder) go last night and he sent a video of a largely empty lower level as the game was underway. Video arrived at 8:55pm and he wrote that it was in the 3rd quarter. Don't know if it was immediately after halftime or well into the quarter, but obviously the fans were in no rush to get back to their seats if it was just after halftime. IMG_7058.mov Enjoy the video of a slightly dazed crowd. NOTE: It does appear that there are fans waiting for the next stoppage in play to walk to their courtside seats right at the start of the video.
April 1Apr 1 AD clearly isn't back to himself...he rushed back like an idiot and it shows. Gafford playing surprised me, but nice. That was a horrible loss though.

April 2Apr 2 Fuck Adelson, fuck Dumont, fuck Cuban, fuck Nico. After 15 years since leaving Dallas I’ll probably buy my first Thunder shirt. Done with these cunts. I’ll be back if and when they’re all fucking gone, so probably never.

April 2Apr 2 5 hours ago, threesheets said: All that but fuck OKC (not the town, just the team). A franchise that understands values of players and draft picks? Might be refreshing. Oh, and they’re not intentionally tanking the franchise itself. That’s good enough at this point.
April 2Apr 2 I'm more referring to the franchise that drips swag it hasn't earned yet, is lead by the NBA's premier foul merchant, and makes you pray before watching basketball in their building. But I don't disagree wth the shit you said about the Mavs.

At least the 2007 Mavs who ran away with the West had just come off a Finals appearance, and had been in a WCF/close before that. OKC players/fans/media acts like it's foregone. I have no belief the Mavs sneak into 8 and beat them...but if healthy, they damned sure will scare the fuck out of them. Mavs seemingly are in their heads(3 of their 12 losses are to the Mavs and 2 without Luka, so it's like it doesn't matter who's playing). Making them work in the first round would be hilarious.

April 5Apr 5 It's fuck Nico first for me first. What he did directly affected a team I love. I don't give two shits about OKC other than it's fun owning them when it matters.
April 6Apr 6 Intuit Dome is pretty dope but I got “relocated” from my seats because they were in the wall. Got ADA too of the damn place right now and 2 tickets to another game to use.

April 6Apr 6 Yeah, you can blame Cuban for who he sold the team to but he would have been the last person to ok this deal.

April 7Apr 7 Like I was saying about unearned swag. The Thunder have already reached the point of not having to give a shit about regular season games against the Lakers. https://x.com/Nolimiteek/status/1909054875293688030 Yeah, I'm gonna keep posting these POS blacked out links (they're hot, fuck it). April 9Apr 9 I'm not ready for this shit tonight. I do hope the Fire Nico chants are rampant and Luka goes off for 50.
April 9Apr 9 I don't know what the O/U for Luka points tonight is, but whatever it is, it feels like the over is the safest bet in history (which means we should probably all take the under). 😃

So I'm sending him to the game tonight, but I'm making my wife take him. She can have that core memory- I don't want to be there. She asked me why I didn't want to witness all the madness. I said "You mean like watching a train wreck? Because we're the ones in it."
April 9Apr 9 I wonder how many cops they're gonna have on hand. If this game had happened a few weeks ago I guarantee they would have needed multiple paddywagons. I really hope people act a fool. I need more craziness to happen so the magnitude of how ridiculous this whole thing is still resonates 20-30 years from now. But hell, on paper this is a game AD should absolutely dominate, so they'll probably end up cheering their asses off like good little soldiers.
