Might not suck?  Has Surly man crush Glen Powell reprising Ben Richard.  Josh Brolin gets to be an ahole too.  He's real good at that.

Glen Powell looks to have found his adversary in the reimagining of The Running Man at Paramount Pictures. Josh Brolin is in final negotiations to land the villain role in the pic being directed by Edgar Wright and based on the novel by Stephen King that the author published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.

While the details of Brolin’s role are unknown, sources say he will play the antagonist behind the violent reality show.

I hope unlike the last movie, this one would stick closer to the novel.

The last one was NOTHING like the book.

Ok, but it was still a decent flick.

But it was a good action flick at least.

Perfect.

It would work.  But I’m thinking Tom Cruise (doing his Harvey Weinstein impression) for this.

Steve Harvey is too goofy to be an evil corporate overlord personality.

Alex Trebeck would have killed it.

Agreed. Maybe Ryan Seacrest can do it

He does every other damn thing.  Why not?

I'm really interested how straight they play this.  The last was very tongue-in-cheek.

Decent credits between the two screenwriters.  The director directed most of these as well.   It's going to be quirky.

2004: Shaun of the Dead

2007: Hot Fuzz

2010: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (the two screenwriters collaborated on this one)

2011: The Adventures of Tintin

2012: 21 Jump Street

2015 Ant-Man

2017 Baby Driver

2021: Last Night in Soho

All very rewatchable...and Baby Driver was extremely underrated and hurt massively by Kevin Spacick being a perv.

I saw the original back in college. We were smoking out at my buddy's north campus apartment and I was higher than a motherfucker. I thought it was the funniest movie I had ever seen 🤣🤣🤣

I really wish they'd stop trying to make Glen Powell happen. He's as milquetoast as they come.

All I could think of how much better that line "I'm going burn this whole building down" would be if the roles were reversed and it was delivered by Josh Brolin.

Well, that isn’t the same movie.

This version is the Stephen King story. The Arnold version pretty much scrapped everything but the name Ben Richards and the Dawson character.
