August 10, 20187 yr I'm thinking about taking my seventh-grade daughter to this movie. Has anyone seen it? It's gotten pretty good reviews.
August 10, 20187 yr I'm hoping to go see it this weekend. I've heard lots of people saying disregard the R rating and that they should take their middle school-aged kids to see it.
August 10, 20187 yr With one daughter going into eighth and the other going into tenth, we'll have to see it.
August 10, 20187 yr Took my 7th grade daughter to it. There were a couple of uncomfortable scenes, but I’m glad I took her. It’s a really well-made movie.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
August 10, 20187 yr Saw this a week or so ago. If you're thinking of taking kids, here's what you're in for:1. Some language, fuck, shit, pussy2. 13 year old girl learning how to give BJ's; looking up YouTube vids with a bunch of dildos and practicing on fruit3. 17 year old attempting to sexually assault a 13 year old; nothing physical but creepy as hellCould create a good opportunity to discuss heavy shit with your kid, but could also be awkward for a lot of people.

That's awkward enough just reading. For that reason, I'm out.

August 13, 20187 yr The family watched Eighth Grade on Saturday. Had some reluctance to taking them as it is rated R due to a couple scenes with sexual content, but decided that they were mature enough. I was right. I though the movie was done well, the main actress played the role wonderfully as did the actor that played her father. We had some discussions following the film regarding feeling awkward at school or in other social settings so my girls were mindful of how other kids might be feeling in those situations. Also, it allowed me to express, again, the all boys want to have sex. Regardless of how nice they are.
August 20, 20187 yr Just saw this at Alamo. Thought it was incredibly well done but it’s a bit of a tough watch because it’s just so cringey.
