Which wouldn't shock me, but they should destroy the Yankees in 4 or 5. With our starting pitching, can’t say I agree it’s one sided. This seems pretty even up.

Just don't go full Dave Roberts I’ve been critical of Roberts in the past, but I do think he’s done a great job during these playoffs managing the staff with spit and glue. Fuck Evan Phillips off the WS roster with arm injury. He hasn’t been scored upon in the playoffs. But Vesia and Brusdar are back. Not sure how effective Graterol will be having not pitched in ages. Kiermaier also left off.
October 25, 20241 yr Would like to see Ohtani finally win it. Too bad he couldn't bring Mike Trout with him.

October 26, 20241 yr Quote from a good friend of mine: "This World Series is like Hitler vs Saddam Hussein" can't decide which team is which....
October 26, 20241 yr The Valenzuelas prob should hit a treadmill and work in a salad or they will prob be joining pops soon
October 26, 20241 yr I think the Dodgers are going to be very careful with Soto and attack Judge all series.
October 26, 20241 yr Whew. Thought Tommy’s error might have cost us. This ump is calling shit way in/outside.
October 26, 20241 yr I pretty much hate both teams but I like @Sbbruin a lot more than @Helobious so I guess it's going to have to be go dodgers

October 26, 20241 yr did y’all hear that? cole hasn’t k’d a right handed hitter in 43 ab’s? that’s insane.
October 26, 20241 yr Let’s see if the dodgers can do what the Yankees couldn’t taking advantage of defensive dumbassery

October 26, 20241 yr imo yankees should be favored due to starting pitching, but it’s close. i like the dodgers lineup better, and i could see the yankees hitter having too many k’s. should be a 6 or 7 game series.

October 26, 20241 yr I'm thinking about the last WS Game 1 in LA. Kershaw was dealing, 103 deg at first pitch, and the game lasted 2:28. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN201710240.shtml Edited October 26, 20241 yr by WBT
October 26, 20241 yr Vertigo was one of those untradeable guys for the Dodgers for a few years, until the Red Sox agreed to trade Mookie for him and a few throw ins. We did have to take on Price’s deal, but we got some decent innings out of him. I’d make that trade 100 times out of 100.

October 26, 20241 yr Is that a MAGAt hat right behind home plate? She won’t be particularly popular there.
October 26, 20241 yr This home plate umpire is terrible. What the hell MLB 19 minutes ago, Derka said: did y’all hear that? cole hasn’t k’d a right handed hitter in 43 ab’s? that’s insane. 18 minutes ago, UTexasFight said: Only 4 years, $144M left to go And now he’s K’d 2 since they mentioned it.
October 26, 20241 yr I haven’t watched baseball in a while but is it now normal to dance after you get a flukey base hit like that Dodgers dude did? That used to be a guaranteed beanball the next time up.
October 26, 20241 yr Nice play. If that was Dave Concepcion in Riverfront he would have had him. 1 minute ago, Minute Bull said: I haven’t watched baseball in a while but is it now normal to dance after you get a flukey base hit like that Dodgers dude did? That used to be a guaranteed beanball the next time up. Pretty much. I wouldn't say that was fluky though.

October 26, 20241 yr I didn't watch a whole lot of Yankees regular season. How the hell did Judge hit .322? He has the same holes in his swing as always.

They weren’t there in the regular season. He wasn’t flailing his hips open on his swing, etc. October came and he’s back to 2016 form. It’s clear he’s not made for the moment and needs to get benched. He’s fucking terrible and just a liability at this point. I could go up there and have more competitive at bats, seriously. Fuck. October 26, 20241 yr Did anyone see Ohtani strikeout right now? Or we only notice when Judge does it?
October 26, 20241 yr For anyone bitching about this series or saying it's bad for baseball - I've been staying with my granddad for a couple months now who is in increasingly poor health. Talking to him can be frustrating because he's always in a shitty mood and bitching about the same shit over and over again. Obviously it isn't all his fault but it's still an ass-whipping at times. The World Series being on and being between two familiar teams - to him at least - is an easy conversation piece and gives him a nice distraction. He's at most "himself" these days when telling stories - his long-term memory is still very sharp for his age - it's just the day-to-day and short-term stuff where he's really slipping. I don't have a strong pull for either of these teams and don't hate that they're in the WS. I know a lot of people do - but I think it's important to remember that stuff like this means a lot to a whole lot of people in this country. Not preaching or anything - I'm plenty cynical and jaded at times - just wanted to share a little anecdote of a way in which this is a fairly big deal for baseball and to a lesser extent America. I mean it's fucking LA vs. New York and the flagship team of both. No matter what sport that doesn't happen often. Edited October 26, 20241 yr by ztejas
