October 27, 20241 yr Popular Post Jelani McDonald is going to be a dude. It’s nice to finally have a talented and coherent secondary. No more Jerrin Thompson and Kitan Crawford running around aimlessly.

Between penalties, sacks and tip drill interceptions at the most inopportune times we made it way harder than it had to be. Frustrating. Nailed it. You said it a lot nicer than I could.

Every single remaining team on the schedule could beat Texas if they play poorly. Florida is playing much better after looking terrible early on. Arkansas is 5-3 and it'll be all-out jihad in Fayettenam. Kentucky got closer to beating UGA than Texas did. A&M isn't terrible and it'll be wild in College Station. My apologies if I currently don't have much faith in our team, specifically the head coach, OL, and starting QB not to shit themselves down the stretch. 10 minutes ago, Hank_Hill said: We didn’t make the schedule, hope that helps! To be fair, Texas made 1/3 of the schedule haha. Edited October 27, 20241 yr by MuellerHorn
October 27, 20241 yr So the lack of downfield passes - that’s not the playcall but Quinn bailing and checking down into the flat over and over and over and over right?

One of the most frustrating games I have watched Texas play in 30 years Reminded me of the Sugar Bowl against Georgia. We had that game won and just needed it to end 28-14. Two targeting penalties in the last two minutes made their final drive last about 30 minutes.

October 27, 20241 yr Not having rewatched but of the four sacks, one was on Blue not picking up the blitz and two were on RPOs where the ball has to come out quick but Quinn didn’t get rid of it
October 27, 20241 yr 5 minutes ago, Shaddie said: Haven’t read earlier part of thread but does anyone have any explanations for OL issues? Also I know Ewers is not mobile but call a couple of roll outs. I think they try to be too cute with formations and motion. Only takes one mental mistake and a defender is wrecking shit or being held to prevent it. We have the athletes. We shouldn’t need all of the window dressing to be successful.
October 27, 20241 yr The OL has issues but teams are also bringing pressure. The fact we aren't turning that into more boom or bust scenarios is more problematic than the actual sacks IMO. Giving up a few sacks is fine if you're also torching the defense downfield. That isn't happening.
October 27, 20241 yr Sark looks shell shocked. He and Quinn both look surprised and befuddled in games so often. It’s seriously concerning. He sucks as a head coach. Plain and simple. He’s usually pretty good handling the offensive side of the ball, but he will fuck that up too.

I want to give him slack and say it’s because he’s dealing with a head case in real time and under pressure. Maybe that’s me just wish casting?
October 27, 20241 yr ALL GAS, MY ASS!!! What a fucking abortion of an offense. A 2 yard pass on 3rd and 8 is a very low probability throw. Quit doing that shit. Calling a running play parallel to, and 4 yards behind, the LOS works maybe 1 time a game. You can’t start 2 and 12 half of the time if you aren’t even going to throw the ball 10 yards downfield. I like that our WR’s are good blockers, but they are better receivers. It would be nice to throw to them down the field sometime. How many passes did QE throw 15 yards past the line of scrimmage? Most of QE long throws were not close enough for the receiver to touch, much less catch. Best WR room in the country and we can’t get a pass to them. Texas can win with QE if we start fast and get a big lead. QE does not have the “it” to lead Texas in a come from behind, 2 minute dill. Quinn started 18 for 19 for ~ 211 yds. He ended up going 27 of 37 for 288 yds, meaning he finished 9 of 18 for 77 yards, or a little over 4 yards per attempt. That’s some Mendoza Line kind of production. 6 points in the 2nd half? Boo!
October 27, 20241 yr Hahahahaha. Gold. Sorry boss. He fucks up constantly with head coaching duties. He’s bad at clock management, makes some brain dead personnel decisions. I’m not a fan of his game day head coaching.

October 27, 20241 yr Popular Post Problem with Sark is he doesn’t adjust well when the gameplan is ruined. Like if there’s a wreck on 35, he’ll continue to sit in traffic and hope traffic clears up instead of taking 130. Or he’ll take Mopac and still be fucked, lol.

October 27, 20241 yr The short, west coast passing game is becoming too predictable. They are not making teams pay for sitting on all the shallow routes. Until Ewers shows he can beat defenses downfield or at least on medium depths throws, it’s going to be tough to move the ball against good defenses.

He has no pocket awarenss. like where is the guy that would take off running?? Is he scared to mess up his career?? Shid the way he’s playing g he won’t have to worry about that
