I'm coming around on the idea that he was the best to ever step behind the mic. And I'm a big comedy fan and hold the typical GOATs (Pryor, Chappelle, Louis, Carlin et al.) in high regard.

This dude was just different. He could read the phone book for an hour and sell a theater out.

one of the greatest bits in comedy history. He was fucking awesome in The Office and Chappelle Show

Saw him in Houston before he passed for free at The Improv. Fucking hilarious

So damn good when he was on Opie and Anthony back in the day.

the sugar got him.

Saw the thread just pop up and thought maybe he has re-animated and there's a zombie Patrice making fun of how insanely upfront people have gotten about the intense racism he knew they always had.

His skit about always getting a receipt, even for a single donut, because a black dude always needs proof of payment just in case is still a favorite.

While there's some truth to his claim that it's better to know the racists up front rather than them concealing it behind your back with smile, I have to admit it's jarring when they're using it to try and take over the government. And terrible when you find out some of them are in your own family.
