Week Eleven Preview: Drain the Swamp (Non-CR Edition)

Massive week: Tuesday changes the face of America as MACtion returns, and the big news carries on through the week as Texas Football comes back as well.

Tuesday games:

Bowling Green (-11.5) @ Central Michigan (7:30/6:30 ESPN2): The world's eyes are on Michigan Tuesday night. Specifically on the town of Mount Pleasant. BGSU is second, but have to travel to the Chippewas.

Miami (OH) (-12.5) @ Ball State (8/7 ESPN): The Redhawks are vying with Bowling Green for a conference championship slot. Fun road doubleheader.

Wednesday games:

Northern Illinois @ Western Michigan (-1) (8/7 ESPN2): WMU is undefeated in the MAC. Northern Illinois beat Notre Dame. About as good as MACtion gets.

Ohio (-20) @ Kent State (8/7 ESPNU): Kent State is the worst team in the FBS - they even lost to something called St. Francis of Pennsylvania. This game's a dog.

Thursday games:

Appalachian State @ Coastal Carolina (pick 'em) (8/7 ESPN): Fun Belt action! Two excellent party schools in great locations. Two mediocre-to-bad football teams.

Florida Atlantic @ East Carolina (-8.5) (8/7 ESPN2): ECU already fired their coach. Tom Herman might be joining him in the pink slip brigade if he and his team keep embarrassing themselves on the field. Can he keep his cool at Rowdy Dowdy-Ficklen?

Friday games:

California (-7) @ Wake Forest (8/7 ACCN): Two beautiful schools you'd be happy to see your kids end up at. The football teams are ok. Can the Golden Bears finally win an ACC game?

Iowa (-5.5) @ UCLA (9/8 Fox): Previously shambolic UCLA denied Nebraska bowl eligibility in Lincoln in a masterpiece of absurdist comedy. Can they pull off another upset at home in Westwood?

Rice @ Memphis (-10.5) (9/8 ESPN2): Can Rice get a fired-coach bounce? Probably not.

New Mexico State @ San Diego State (-3) (10:30/9:30 FS1): Pure Sickos content and time slot.

Saturday games:

Florida @ #5 Texas (-22) (12/11 ABC): Florida is down to a third-string transfer QB from Yale after a brutal rivalry game loss, and mostly sucked before that. Texas is at home coming off a bye to heal up and shake off two wobbly performances. This should be a pleasant warm up for the trip to Fayettenam.

#4 Miami (-11.5) @ Georgia Tech (12/11 ESPN): Can someone finally punch a hole in the paper Hurricanes? The Yellow Jackets in ATL are as good of a candidate to do it as anyone.

West Virginia @ Cincinnati (-4) (12/11 FS1): Both coaches started the season on the hot seat. Both teams have winning records in the conference but haven't looked at all convincing. Both fanbases might be quietly happy with a bad loss.

The Boilermakers are probably far too bad to trouble Ohio State at all, but keep an Upset Watch eye on the scorebug (Purdue @ Ohio State (-36) 12/11 Fox)

-

#2 Georgia (-3) @ #16 Ole Miss (3:30/2:30 ABC): A battle of two Jekyll and Hyde teams in the Grove. Which version of each team shows up determines who wins the game.

Michigan @ #8 Indiana (-13) (3:30/2:30 CBS): Indiana is very fucking good by every metric. Will we get 10-windiana in game number ten?

#19 Clemson (-7) @ Virginia Tech (3:30/2:30 ESPN): The Tigers need to wake up quickly after getting beat by Louisville to stay in ACC Championship and Playoff contention.

Big Noon Saturday heads to Lubbock after Tech's big win over Iowa State to see Deion come to town (#21 Colorado (-2) @ Texas Tech 4/3 Fox) and two of the feistiest teams in the SEC square off in Nashville (South Carolina (-2.5) @ #24 Vanderbilt 4:15/3:15 SECN).

-

#11 Alabama (-3) @ #14 LSU (7:30/6:30 ABC): Gameday heads to Baton Rouge to watch two wounded titans play with Playoff contention on the line. If you're a Texas fan, you should be pulling for Bama here.

Florida State @ #10 Notre Dame (-25) (7:30/6:30 NBC): Notre Dame has lost to a terrible team at home once this year. Can they trip over their own feet again?

Washington @ #6 Penn State (-12.5) (8/7 Peacock): Fuck Peacock for this - no one wants to navigate in and out of a separate app to watch a game.

#9 BYU (-4) @ Utah (10:15/9:15 ESPN): HOLY WAR. One of the most poisonous, ill-tempered rivalries in college football, made even spicier by Utah having a shot to piss all over the Coogs' perfect season.

Utah State @ #20 Washington State (-20) (10:30/9:30 CW): The last game of the night is a great time to catch a really good Wazzu team, one of the biggest casualties of realignment.

Upset Watch eyes will be on Maryland @ #1 Oregon (-27) (7/6 BTN) and Mississippi State @ #7 Tennessee (-24) (7/6 ESPN), but with minimal real expectations. Especially in Knoxville, given that Miss State recruits are decommiting mid-game these days. Nevada @ #12 Boise State (-25) (8/7 Fox) is another opportunity to watch the Ashton Jeanty Show.

THE SP+ COLLEGE FOOTBALL TOP 764, WEEK 11* Montana State > Rutgers* Harding > Charlotte* Southern Nazarene rises to No. 504 after the big upset!* Ohio State-Oberlin check: Buckeyes by 146.3* Manchester takes the No. 764 spot by 0.4 points, and DOWN the stretch they come...

Already did, didn't they?

Indiana -13 vs. Michigan just blows my mind, but there's no way I'd bet on Michigan to cover that.

Utah +4 vs. BYU feels like Vegas fucking with us, begging us to bet on BYU.

Lots of interesting and season altering action this weekend. Texas is facing a bad Florida team. With their previous QB, I could see an interesting game. With the former Yale QB... not so much.

For me the two most interesting games are:

#2 Georgia (-3) @ #16 Ole Miss (3:30/2:30 ABC): A battle of two Jekyll and Hyde teams in the Grove. Which version of each team shows up determines who wins the game.

Michigan @ #8 Indiana (-13) (3:30/2:30 CBS): Indiana is very fucking good by every metric. Will we get 10-windiana in game number ten?

I have ZERO clue what will happen with Georgia v Ole Miss. None. Not even gonna try to predict an outcome.

Will I be torn between pulling for an underdog IU who is the Rodney Dangerfield of this season or Michigan to make Texas look better... yep. Do I think IU will win, yep.

Lots to keep an eye on and an exciting week.

I even care about the early Tuesday games as there were former clients of mine in both match ups.

It will either be a 24 point UGA win or ole miss win by less than one score.

but I have no idea which.

of course if Mr. 3 INT shows up for UGA it would be the opposite: Ole Miss by 24 or UGA by less than one score.

so yeah, I have no idea either.

Well, there is zero chance that the game ends up with an unexpected outcome.
