None of you republicans get to pretend a year from now that you’re surprised by what he ends up doing.

Fuck you, you don’t have exclusive rights to hating your fellow Americans. Hating fascists is what you’re supposed to do, you scum.

I am not running for office. Did Kamala openly hate anybody?

I think he will lower taxes (or try to depending on the congressional makeup), pass a bunch of executive orders to close the border and talk a lot of shit on social media. That’s what I think happens. Convincing yourself this is Nazi Germany is how you got here - shocked at the obvious and inevitable outcome of this election.

He openly ran as Hitler. When he begins governing as Hitler, you don’t get to explain your vote with “well I didn’t think he’d really be that bad!” You will not be forgiven by your family, your neighbors, or your god.

Lots of stuff to deal with right now though. But we'll see.

First of all, Trump isn’t a fscist. It’s pretty clear that none of you even know what means. Secondly, I’m responding to those of you openly saying you hate most Americans because they voted for someone else. That’s part of the Democrats problem. Instead of understanding why so many people, including people who would vote traditionally Democratic voted you Trump you resort to bitterness and name calling. You would think by now that’s not winning strategy.

He courted the Latino, Black and Jewish vote. Worst. Hitler. Ever.

I would agree and I don't think any of us did that. Well Joe Biden accidentally did that and then apologized.

But come on. I get called shit all the time by Republicans. This is a polarized nation, both sides throw around bullshit all the time.

Don’t gaslight me you piece of shit.

But it could be that simple. The average American actually doesn't know anything about the economy. They are woefully misinformed about how our government actually works, and a vast majority of them have never stepped foot outside this country, so have no concept of the larger world. We have an illinformed electorate and this is the result.

Let’s go the other way - how long until Peter Theil has Trump removed? I give it three months.

I don't know man. When so many of the ads were just straight up transphobic shit and panic over immigrants and that worked it is hard to think well of my fellow countrymen and women.

But hey I am not running for office. What is the lesson? If you know pass it on to people who are.

I thought we needed to be more pro-union, bring in more jobs, stop busting pot users, build infrastructure, and all that. But clearly not. So what do I know? I clearly don't know shit. No Democratic politicians should be listening me.

Honest question: what do you think his cabinet and appointed positions will look?

  • Popular Post

This kind of sentiment is exactly why people loathe the Democrats now. People just voted for a very flawed person in a landslide over Harris and you would think at some level this would cause some of to wonder if your party was really on the right path. If the democrats ever want to regain the trust of the working class or young black and Latino voters they should probably start by wondering why they hate you so much.

People loathe the democrats because they’re the party expected to be the adults in the room, so when things go wrong it’s obviously their fault.
Trump is about to have the Senate, House, and a popular vote mandate yet he will still blame Democrats anytime anything bad happens, and everyone in this thread currently lecturing the Democrats about personal responsibility will go along with it.
Honest question: what do you think his cabinet and appointed positions will look?

I was just thinking this. Last time it resembled a normal cabinet. This time it’ll be his cronies.

As others have said, this is pretty hypocritical, yes? I don't think you want to do a comparison between what Trump said about Kamala and her supporters and what she said about him and his during this campaign.

Why is it that Republicans--especially since Trump--can essentially say the most heinous things imaginable with no repercussions, but one insult by a Democrat and it's "they need to tone down the rhetoric! Stop calling us names!"

I honestly don't have a good answer for this. Maybe you do.

Those who are saying this election is not that big of a deal are missing the big picture.

Last night we learned two deeply concerning lessons. The first is that the American public is way more susceptible to disinformation than anyone realized. They elected a traitor (stolen docs), grifter, felon, sexual assaulter, pedophile, serial liar, crook, and moron. The gullibility of the American public is unbelievable. The stupidity of the American public is epic. And that is frightening for the future.

Second, the message of hate resonated with way more people than folks would ever have guessed. Americans hold way more hatred, racism, sexism and misogyny than anyone realized. This will have implications for decades.

This election wasn’t about four years. It was a realization that the American experiment is truly at risk because of the flaws of its own citizens.

With disinformation being unstoppable, there is now a path to a dystopian future filled with suffering, control,  grift, corruption, and out of control wealth inequality. The fundamental tenant of a fair opportunity for Americans could be an ideal of the past until or if Americans figure out a way to deal with disinformation and recognize within themselves their own personal failings.

I wish I could sugar coat this but the next four years are gonna be an absolute unmitigated disaster.

Unemployment right now is 4.2 after reaching a low of 3.5. That’s gonna skyrocket

Rich donors are gonna get tax breaks in record numbers

Project 25 will be inacted

Obamacare will be destroyed with no play to replace it

Bipartisan border bill will not be passed

The low to middle class will be absolutely destroyed.

But hey, Milk & Eggs will be a dollar cheaper….maybe

Agree with this.  I'm not sure I'll ever understand people voting for Trump but 80+ million Americans didn't turn evil 8 years ago.

Yeah. This is my main takeaway. I feel like if you got fooled by Trump once, hey I get it. Politicians suck and here was a guy appearing to be on your team.

But once it was obvious who he was and you vote for him again? Well now I am worried for the whole country.

They do not all hold the same hatreds, that’s true. And while many of them are stupid, many of them are not.  They are bad and think that they will benefit by allying with the stupid.

But what does unite the entire Trump electorate, and GOP, is grievance.  Half the country is living in comfort and yet filled with rage at the idea that someone else might have it “better.”  They are furious that someone might be looking down on them.

And I am looking down on them. 100 percent.

This is exactly what is at play. Example 1 of a thousand, is that people believe Biden was fully responsible for the inflation problem when the Trump trillions of debt spending was the match that ignited it. And his policies are more inflationary than Harris. People are stupid.

No, Trump is all that 100%. It's a matter of believing 100% of supporters voted for him because of that and not in spite of that.

Sweet. Glad to see that the stock market being up matters again.

I don't imagine we'll have to wait long to see the GOP reminding us that our inflation is actually pretty low compared to the rest of the world.

So what’s gonna happen when inflation doesn’t magically go away, or gets worse? I’m sure the electorate will hold trump accountable just like Biden

It's wild that in your framing, the republicans have """earned""" the trust of black and latino voters. Care you break me down how that works, and how this isn't just motivated by ladder-pulling hate?

The Dems have failed, pretty spectacularly

My father and mother were so horrified by the Arnold Palmer dick talk, and dick sucking simulation, they both voted for the idiot.

There is no bottom in this cult. If Jesus himself came down from the heavens they would ignore him again.

And, Trump didn't do COVID relief because he wanted to help fellow Americans in a time of need.  He did it to increase his own popularity, nothing more.

We probably would have been ok without that relief and in a less inflationary environment.

The Dem will almost surely win in 28.  People will get sick of Trump's shit again.
