Dan Patrick is welcome to suggest that a strip sirloin be called the "Texas Strip".  It's essentially the same cut as a NY Strip or a KC Strip.  Every locale can call it what they want to call it.

What a fucking world, such snowflakey bitchassedness on display.

We are way beyond saving democracy.... that's because we are witnessing human DEvolution in real time ... led by Team USA ... streaming on screens all over the world.

We are far beyond the event horizon.

This and all the other dismantling of our national security is putting foreign adversaries into a feeding frenzy.

First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year. “'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'" Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/us/politics/fda-flu-vaccine.html?smid=nytcore-android-share

It would appear that this administration wants to kill as many people as possible. While at the same time completely dismantling our government, and eventually our society and way of life. This is what, week five?

Trump's DHS is pushing for the IRS to produce taxpayer information to assist with deportations

IRS officials are pointing to federal law saying taxpayer data can only be used for tax purposes

That won’t matter. Elon will make sure that DHS has access to whatever data it wants. We live in a country where laws don’t apply to the ruling class and a right to privacy is a thing of the past.

Hopefully he’s dead before then.

We ain’t getting that lucky.

I’d assume the flu vax makers will chose their strains from data they collect, just without input from fda.

I honestly have no idea.   But I'm wondering the legality of the flu vax makers producing a vax without the consent of the FDA?  Or would the FDA just blanket authorize a vaccine without knowing what was in it?

Even if it is legal for a vaccine to be produced without oversight or sanction of the FDA, what vaccine maker wants to invite potential litigation if there are issues?

i wonder if they will remain free of charge? seems like a pertinent question but i've no idea how it might work if the federal govt takes a powder. 🤨

That’s a health insurance/coverage issue.

the product would still have to get through whatever safety protocols exist for those things, seems like the big change would be in the resulting efficacy based on targets.

Depends on the provider. I think a lot of people pay out of pocket if they don't have insurance.

Fucking hell. Its felt like an eternity already.

It's one of those weeks where decades happen. But it's every goddamn week. I think we've lived a century in geopolitical time since the inauguration. The planet is also experiencing one of those centuries where epochs happen. Cool stuff, if we weren't experiencing it live, right? The historical AND fossil record are going to be very confusing to whoever unearths it.

The last few days I’ve been going into work and loudly saying “ how the fuck is my 401k going down with such an alpha in charge”

One other co worker there who leans left ( we used to argue until 6 years ago) usually gets a chuckle and says something smart ass while the rest of the bootlickers remain silent.

I never would have dreamed I would laugh at losing money but I also never dreamed I would be cheering for Canada against the USSAR

If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company. It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create. They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms. I’m happy to invest and/or help

How much of a simple fuck does someone have to be to have not thought this out any further than "he only bet on HIS TEAM WINNING"? Maybe think deep and consider why it's not ok to bet on your own team. On the days when has money on the Reds, he may not be managing with the team's long term interests in mind. "I have money on this so I'm going to leave Dibble out there for 3 innings even though he pitched yesterday and I'll likely need him tomorrow." Or on the days when he doesn't bet, it tips off the sort of shady people that would've been taking bets from a MLB manager. Or that he could've put himself in debt and been asked to alter a result to pay off that debt. Yes, our president is every bit this stupid. If he were a poster on the Surly baseball board, you'd face palm at reading his posts. Also, they've had this loaded up as a distraction for when he does something indefensible like side with the invading genocidal dictator over the democratic country being invaded. Holy shit this country sucks.

So, what you're saying then is ... Helobious is Trump?

I'm actually starting to believe Pete Davidson is right when he says that Trump can't read. If you watch the video yesterday where Trump receives the letter from King Charles, it would certainly appear that he had no idea what it said. Combine that with the EO performances, where an underling tells him what he's signing, and it doesn't look too good. Maybe he can't read, or maybe he just can't see well enough to read, or maybe it's dyslexia or something else, but something doesn't look right there.

He chooses not to wear glasses, at least in public.   I remember back in 2015-16 he was wearing a pair at a presser; hell, he's old---it's not that big of a deal.  Ever since he was elected, I don't recall see him ever wearing any.  He probably sees it as a sign of weakness or something, as vain as he is.

Here's a pic from the Daily Mail in 2017:

I have been able to obtain, at great personal expense and risk, a copy of this letter.  Whatever you do, please don't disclose this to anyone:

My campaign connnection said the same re: internals. They were reasonably confident. Silent moron vote…or it was rigged.

Yeah I've had my candidate lose the election lots of times, but since I turned 18 in 1983, I can't remember a single presidential election where the result didn't follow very closely with what the signs were showing us prior to the election. Until this one. It was an absolute, comprehensive, utter shocker for me. Everything seemed to point to a Harris victory imho. I was blindsided.

I'm not saying it was rigged ... but it sure feels like it was rigged.

I will believe the election was fair and square when I see the percentage of bullet votes for each state.

Nice win for Putin, dividing USA and European powers over Ukraine. IMO, just like Brexit, how it ends up doesn't matter, the discussion itself creates diversion and long term rights in anti-Russian alliance.

And President Huff & Puff and his minions are following the script.
