Laying the groundwork for overturning or nullifying the results of an election that doesn't go MAGA's way.

#1 Enact rules to make it harder for voters who are not MAGA to register or vote.  (Restrictive voter ID measures, selectively control polling locations, eliminate early voting, mail voting, etc.).

#2 Make rules that dilute the influence of those voters, if they still manage to vote.  (Gerrymandering, electoral college, etc.)

#3  Establish mechanisms to overturn elections with an outcome you don't like, in case you still lose in spite of #1 and #2,

#4  Do away with elections altogether?

I mean, if no one's gonna stop 'em . . .

I wish I could find an article but I read an opinion piece recently arguing that blue states need to start flexing their financial muscle against red states to make a consequence for their fuckery.  It used the example of Texas pulling all their state retirement funds from a company based in California as an example.  The fact is blue states have a lot more financial muscle than red states.  If Cali, NY, and MA did similar things to TX, TX would be absolutely fucked.  Unfortunately it is time you fight fire with fire.

if ca and ny stopped sending money, alabama and mississippi would fucking starve.

but i'm sure in those extreme scenarios, trump would have fema go help out within a day or two.

We may never have another free and fair election ever again.

Trump's FEMA relief in the gulf states might make Israel's "humanitarian aid operation" in Gaza look competent

I don’t think that it is hyperbole to say that this past November was the last meaningful election we are going to have for a while.
The dissonance is really perplexing to me as we go on with our lives not really noticing the changes happening right in front of us.

As a kid I remember thinking how a country can so willingly go down a path like Germany did in the 30’s.  I see now.  It’s a slow creep which feeds on ignorance, apathy, and delusion.

Well the experiment lasted almost 250 years which was longer than many predicted

Cool. I'm gonna keep voting in those meaningless elections no matter now many hurty words you say at me.

Do y’all think it would have been an issue on the right if Obama had said out loud “A lot of people are saying I should be a dictator”? I mean we could do this all day every day, but that stands out.

Saw a clip earlier of Dotard saying "I can do whatever I want. I'm the president."

I swear there used to be a huge percentage of our population who were horrified at the prospect of this happening. It's like all they talked about. I wonder where they went.

And most people give no shits. I've probably been following along more closely than I should for my own sanity, but even bringing up the subject with people gets a laugh or an eye roll and they move on with their days. I don't think people have any idea what's coming. I can't even fully grasp how bad it can get. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not sure how we avoid it at this point.

“NO GESTAPO IN BASTROPO” turned into “WE WELCOME THE GESTAPO TO BASTROPO” in an instant.

Seems they were never worried about authoritarian presidents at all. They’re just scared of the negroes.

Should we expect most people to take it seriously if the opposition doesn't?

I don't know what I expect. None of us have ever been in this situation before.

That’s not going to matter at all. Plenty of objections and obstruction and bullshit that it won’t matter and no one will care.

Good. They need to take out the trash at 1600 Pennsylvania

1

Louisiana 18.9% The state has one of the nation's highest poverty rates and also the highest rate of child poverty.
2 New Mexico 18.5% New Mexico has a high rate of residents living in extreme poverty, with a significant gap between high- and middle-income households.
3 Mississippi 17.3% Mississippi has the lowest median household income in the nation, and poverty disproportionately affects children.
4 Arkansas 15.8% While improving slightly, Arkansas continues to have a high poverty rate, especially in its southeastern counties.
5 West Virginia 15.3% The state has a high poverty rate in rural areas, where limited access to high-paying jobs and education persists.
6 Kentucky 16.4% Like neighboring states, Kentucky has high rates of poverty, with significant disparities between different regions.
7 Oklahoma 15.9% Oklahoma's poverty rate remains above the national average, with challenges related to income inequality.
8 Alabama 15.6% Alabama struggles with high poverty, low wages, and significant wage gaps.
9 New York 14.2% While often associated with wealth, New York has a significant poverty rate and high economic inequality.
10 Tennessee 14.0% Many families in Tennessee live near the federal poverty line, influenced by low income and high healthcare costs.

Those are poverty rates.  I can do murder rates for states next.  Well, I really don’t have to because almost state for state it’s the same fucking list.

It just needs to be enough to make Pulte tuck his nuts up and back down on this shit.  He's not in that class of billionaire asshole that can take on endless legal actions without it hurting.

Well, as a really big advocate of history and all that it can teach us, I think looking right now at Italy in the 1920’s would be a good place to go to find a country that went through this. It’ll give you a good outline of what we will be seeing on the horizon.

It's been said that you could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. But what if the crime being looked at by the grand jury involves a ham sandwich?

Guess we found our answer.
