this speech is so goddamn stupid and pointless. just inane rambling about how badass our army is, name dropping a bunch of battles that no member of the Trump family ever got anywhere near, tacitly taking credit for it all, all while praising a god he doesn’t even believe in. just pointless bluster for his fragile ego. clown show. all living former presidents must be so embarrassed.

edit: and now the 12 people in attendance are singing happy birthday to donald trump.

I mean the Old Guard has been at every presidential event since before most of us were born.  Every inauguration, state arrival, etc. Those guys in blue are all active duty infantry soldiers.

Whatever your thoughts about Trump are — hopefully mostly bad — calling active duty soldiers cosplay is pretty ignorant and shitty.

This is sort of like the Kenny Powers 4th of July Party where he's the only one at the NOS station.

I can see some low level general orchestrating the squeaking as a passive-aggressive troll.  “The squeaking will need to be heard from miles around to ensure this farce is never attempted again.”

For the kids, the song they’re playing here is “Fortunate Son" by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Maybe he will be the fall guy for this farce.  You can give up all sorts of state secrets and be fine, but fuck with dotard’s publicity and you’re a goner.

Somebody who knows more about the interwebs than I do (which is all of you) . . . is this verifiable?  Not the flag part, that's pretty easy to determine (see Russian flag below), but is this a real tweetxtruthwhatever?

"Fortunate Son" is a wow choice even for this group of idiots.

I would be willing to bet that some Millennial googled "songs with red, white, and blue in the lyrics" and no actual adults bothered to check the song list.

God damn, what a clown show.

It's not the first time they've used it.  They used it extensively during the 2020 campaign.  Fogerty was on record as being amused & confused about their seeming ignorance about the point of the song, which was exactly Trump's experience -- family wealth leveraged to evade the war.

Opening verse:

[Verse 1]
Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue
And when the band plays "Hail to the Chief"
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord

Second chorus

[Chorus]
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no millionaire's son, no, no
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one, no

My wife, who is hardly a political firebrand, went to the No Kings rally in Austin today.  Some lady gave her this sign, and I'm very proud of her for carrying it throughout:

I’ve been in Japan on vacation for a week and avoided anything having to do with our orange, wannabe dictator, piece of shit but I have 4 hours on the train back to Tokyo right now and looking at all these pics and seeing his pathetic party is absolutely amazing.

When you spent $25 million on your birthday party but the tanks were old and the clown wasn’t funny and the taco bowls didn’t have enough cheese and all the cool kids went to a different party.

The active duty marines picked their king over the country this week.  Yeah, it is cosplay.  Dress-up, or whatever else we want to call it.

This is a great idea really.  Maybe we can get all of our military equipment painted and stickered like NASCAR.  Uniforms too.   Puffy Taco sponsored F35's in pink.

Welp, the perimeter-to-height ratio of the Giza monument is within 0.05% of 2π, which is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its radius.  But at least we really do know who built the St. Louis arch, and when.

You’re welcome to your ignorant views — and they are no doubt built upon ignorance — but internet people pretending to love their country and their community and calling active duty soldiers “cosplayers” is the height of irony.

They signed their life over in service of something bigger; you’re playing the ignorant troll role on a college football website. Those specific “cosplayers” are the ones responsible for representing OUR country at Arlington when WWII, Korean War, etc. vets are interred. Today they marched in a dumbass parade; tomorrow they’ll be guiding a grieving family through a terrible day.

Trump is the most unamerican president even if you include Jefferson Davis. Stop being shitty and reclaim the pro-America side. It’s so easy to not be anti-soldier.
