I'm really starting to think he's being fed an alternate reality by Miller et al, like when he was on the phone with (iirc) the mayor of Portland and was telling them about all the violence, fires, and apocalyptic scenes he had been seeing from there on tv.

Q: What happens if Zelensky doesn't agree to your peace plan? Trump: Then he can continue to fight his little heart out. Disgusting

The Rubicon between just lying shamelessly until you eventually believe your own lies and living in a completely alternative reality unable to accept anything counter to what you're being told has definitely been crossed.

A lot of people currently live in that space. A little scarier when it's the most powerful man in the world who should have access to the most information.

Trump absolutely is fed bullshit by his administration and fox. He doesn't know up from down. The San Francisco mayor spoke about it recently on a podcast episode.

What’s most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law. Our servicemembers should know that we have their backs as they fulfill their oath to the Constitution and obligation to follow only lawful orders. It is not only the right thing to do, but also our duty.

But this isn’t about any one of us. This isn’t about politics. This is about who we are as Americans. Every American must unite and condemn the President’s calls for our murder and political violence. This is a time for moral clarity.

In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage. We will continue to lead and will not be intimidated.

Can we trade Chip Roy, Wesley Hunt, Brandon Gill, Ronny Jackson, Beth Van Duyne, Troy Nehls, Roger Williams, Dan Crenshaw, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz for him?

The next phase of US operations in Venezuela begins imminently. It is focused on intelligence service operations to prepare the ground for a land invasion, likely including the assassinations of Maduro and other figures of his government. Trump believes he has no reporting obligations to Congress.

Or maybe not

The administration is now doubling down that the plan is U.S.-authored, saying Rubio knew about it all along. So did Rubio lie to the senators?

why they think this is a good plan that will go over well is beyond me.

The White House recently proposed a U.S. military leaflet drop over Caracas aimed at pressuring Nicolás Maduro on his birthday, in what officials describe as a psychological operation to push him toward fleeing the country. The plan has not yet been authorized. - Washington Post

The absurdity of the 28 point paper gets another twist. US State Deputy Spokesman Tommy Pigott called the bipartisan group of US Senators, including Republican Senator Mike Rounds, liars. This US administration has completely lost its plot, if it ever existed. Total chaos.

This is an impressive shit show, even for this admin.

This is going to be a massive disaster. If we think the US economy is suffering now, I cant imagine what this kind of unprovoked attack could mean for foreign relations in Europe, Asia, and across the world.

Could we end up seeing China, Brazil, and Europe levy heavy sanctions against the US? Cut off trade almost completely?

I really have no idea what this could do or if it would even be possible for those kind of sanctions to happen.

Yeah,  The Turtle absolutely meant to make that comparison. But here’s another thing: saying that Trump is acting like Biden is not meant for you or me, but as a comment meant to hurt Trump‘s relationship with the MAGA base. Maybe….

*Inhales*

So there are a number of factions within Trump's circles all desperately competing for attention/resources/miney/prestige etc. They all hate each other and actively work to spite each other because they're looking out for their own interests above anybody else. So, one of those faction is the America First/Putin loving faction led by Witkoff, Muskrat, and Eric Trump. They worked in secret to cut a peace deal with Russia that gives them everything they want. They didn't tell SOS Marco Rubio and the details got leaked, so his initial reaction was to call that the Russian proposal because that "peace deal" is what the Russians want. Surprise, the other factions within the Trump admin working directly on orders by the president sat down with the Russians and came up with that deal. The deal is a total fucking joke that guarantees Russia annexes Ukraine and gets the opportunity to rebuild for a fight with NATO. All of this is a fucking nightmare for the security of not just us, but the entire planet.

Meanwhile, one of the other factions within the admin has talked the president into invading Venezuela for oil, and flagrantly doesn't give a fuck how much this country opposes it because he wants more oil. They have no intention of providing any info to congress about the nature of our military involvement at all and isn't even trying to manufacture consent.

Taking all that in leaves us with the worst foreign policy catastrophe since the end of WW2, the other well covered misadventures had a solid ideological foundation and were sincerely (if not successful) trying to work in the best interests of this country, this shit show is malicious and overtly harmful to the country. Just like the rest of this administration.

Nigeria.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump’s administration is promoting efforts to work with Nigeria’s government to counter violence against Christians, signaling a broader strategy since he ordered preparations for possible military action and warned that the United States could go in “guns-a-blazing” to wipe out Islamic militants.

A State Department official said this past week that plans involve much more than just the potential use of military force, describing an expansive approach that includes diplomatic tools, such as potential sanctions, but also assistance programs and intelligence sharing with the Nigerian government.
