Okay, I presented this evidence to my attorney and he think we may have a case against @South Austin. Thanks, Beau Vine, for 'finding' it.

Can someone please alert Immamac that recent site update keeps opening the Johntay Cook is Dismissed from the team thread on BurnOrange&White's computer and forcing him to post on it?

  • Theft? At least the cops didn't have to tell him to drop it.

And thanks again for ratting me out. They've taken away my office and put me in a desk in the hallway while they complete the audit. Plus, I no longer have access to the payroll server. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?

In all seriousness, my old ad agency had a little problem. Seems scammers got into the server, found out who the clients were, and what their monthly retainer was. They then contacted the dumbasses at the client who handled the money and told them to wire the monthly fee, which then wired and lost forever. SportsClip sued the agency and they settled out of court. The head of IT at the ad agency decided it was time for him to 'retire.' Un huh.

Classic "computer crime" from the Olden Daze...

Guy used his Apple II to print invoices, which he sent to pretty much every big oil company, engineering, and construction company in the south. He read all the business news and journals, found big multi-million dollar projects and sent invoices for random amounts  between $500 and $1,000 with that project and a senior VPs name as the reference. He figured Accounts Payable wouldn't fuck with a VP Project leader of a $75,000,000 project over a few hundred bucks. He was right. It worked for a couple of years, until he got lazy (or too busy laundering krugerrands) and sent the same amount invoices a few months in a row; the AP people at Conoco thought $683.19 had already been paid twice, tried to contact him and discovered the invoice's main office street address was an empty lot in Houston, and ... busted.

Apparently he paid back some of the money, but nowhere close to all, did a couple in the slammer, got out and disappeared. Most of the victims were pretty embarrassed and wouldn't work with IRS, and the bank accounts that the money went through were regularly emptied by cashier's checks, payable to jewelers and coin dealers.

Honestly, the dude probably did more work on those projects than some of the folks legit employed.

I believe the fuzz was thinking from around $25K to 50K a month for a couple of years, so hourly rate was pretty good.

The fact that Johntay's not posting leads me to believe that he's either (A) not at home, (B) home, but doesn't want to post, or (C) home, desperately wants to post, but trapped under something heavy.  Johntay, if it's either A or C, please post.

Casting couch - Wikipedia

While good people work to make the world a little better each day, I have ai write sad country songs about Johntay Cook. The chorus is pretty good.

The Legend of Johntay

(A Sad Country Ballad)

(Verse 1)
He was a five-star kid from a two-light town,
Ran like the wind, never let ‘em down.
Friday night lights, he was the king,
Signed that letter, heard the stadium sing.

(Verse 2)
First fall camp, he was flyin’ high,
Coach caught wind of a little white lie.
Told him “Son, you best be straight,”
But two bad choices sealed his fate.

(Chorus)
Oh, Johntay, where’d you go?
You had the world, now you’re all alone.
Dropped the ball, ran the wrong route,
Now the whole damn town don’t talk about
The legend of Johntay, oh, how he fell,
From the fifty-yard line to a county jail.

(Verse 3)
Packed his bags, tried again,
New school, new town, same old sin.
Two damn days, same sad song,
Coach shook his head, said, “Boy, move on.”

(Verse 4)
One night, broke and all outta hope,
Took what he could from the corner store.
Next thing he knew, he was in that cell,
Mama cried hard, said, “Boy, this ain’t hell… yet.”

(Chorus)
Oh, Johntay, where’d you go?
You had the world, now you’re all alone.
Dropped the ball, ran the wrong route,
Now the whole damn town don’t talk about
The legend of Johntay, oh, how he fell,
From the fifty-yard line to a county jail.

(Bridge)
Then came the weed, just a little escape,
Smoked one hit, lost the rest of his fate.
Called his boys, but they wouldn’t come,
Guess legends don’t last when the game is done.

(Chorus – Slow & Sad)
Oh, Johntay, where’d you go?
You had the world, now you’re all alone.
Dropped the ball, ran the wrong route,
Now the whole damn town don’t talk about
The legend of Johntay, oh, how he fell,
From the fifty-yard line to a county jail.

(Outro – Soft and Fading)
Now he sits on a front porch step,
Watchin’ the world forget he left.
Once a name in the lights so bright,
Now just a whisper in the Friday night.

Is Glass Half Empty the good or bad one? My dad always did everything backward so he said glass half empty was the positive one because it was “only half empty.” All those suckers being happy about a glass half full is stupid because it should be 100% full.
Who the fuck would be happy about getting a 50% full glass? The glass half empty people are happier because their glass is only 50% empty as opposed to being 100% empty. I’ve got all weekend to debate this stupidity.

Both wrong. The glass is twice as large as is needed.

@MrBig , here is your debate  presented in the style of the great George Carlin as suggested by @Royale with cheese

"You ever hear that old philosophical nonsense—Is the glass half full or half empty? Yeah? Well, I got news for you—either way, I’m getting screwed out of half a damn glass!

See, my old man had this backwards logic, right? He’d say, “Son, the glass half empty is the good one, because it’s only half empty.” What kind of optimistic depression is that? “Hey, kid, look on the bright side—your drink isn’t completely gone… yet.” Well, thanks, Dad, now I get to savor the slow, agonizing loss of hydration.

Meanwhile, you got all these glass-half-full suckers walking around thinking they won something. “Oh, I’m so grateful, my glass is half full!” Well, I got news for you, dummy—it should be 100% full! What kind of scam is this? Who in their right mind is happy about half of something? That’s like getting mugged and celebrating that the guy only took half your wallet.

And by the way, let’s talk about the real winners here—the glass-half-empty people. Yeah, because at least they understand loss management. They look at that glass and go, “Phew, I only lost half. I could’ve been totally screwed.” That’s a real survival mindset. Meanwhile, the half-full guys are over here celebrating their 50% disappointment.

You ever go to a bar and order a beer, and the bartender hands you a glass that’s only half full? Are you gonna smile and say, “Well, at least it’s half full!” No, you’re gonna say, “Hey asshole, where’s the rest of my beer?”

I don’t care how you spin it—half a glass is a ripoff. And the only people winning in this game are the ones who say, “Screw philosophy, just fill the goddamn thing up.”

This is great! My dad never listened to Carlin or any type of stand up comedian, so I have no doubt this is an original thought on my Dad’s part. It just so happens to be nearly identical to Carlin.

My Dad is the type of guy who would’ve said, “Carlin said the glass half empty…” and then went on his rant. I think his perception just comes from years of smoking cigarettes and being happy if he found a pack of half empty cigarettes somewhere in his truck. He had so many empty cigarette boxes lying around, it was always a treat to find a pack that was “half empty” when they were usually completely empty.

I think you misunderstood! I asked ChatGPT to take your dad's original idea, which is great, and expand on it in the style of George Carlin. As far as I know, Carlin never presented  anything about half-empty or full...but he should have. Well done.

I must have misread. Being in an empty house while reading Surly on the shitter with a dangerously low TP level is not conducive to comprehensive reading. If I saw the Chat GPT part I would have asked it to help me out.

I do have a Johntay update. He shared a video to his Instagram Stories feed around 21 hours ago. It's a video of a rapper singing in a locker room, so guess he is promoting a friend to his 84.9K followers, or maybe did so for $. It's his first Insta post since he got booted at Washington. He posts a link to the full Reel, so guessing he did so for $, which makes sense, since he can leverage his audience.
