November 7, 20241 yr Oak Hill / 78736 Windshield repair (SafeLite) cannot be completed due to some rust issues @ the top of the existing windshield area for a '97 Chevy. Need the possibility of traveling Service. SafeLite did the R&R 2 month ago (crack in windshield) & it is leaking. Now S.L. says their Tech from the initial replacement should not have done the work due to the rusted issue & the tech they sent out yesterday for the warranty removed the windshield @ dusk & came back today to complete the job... said "nope - rust". I'm thinking this should be SafeLite's issue to assist in because someone in their chain of actions went outside of their internal or industry common practices back 1 month ago. So now we have a truck with Ø windshield & this means we cannot drive it to a shop for that reason. Thank you, Shag² - you're my only hope.
November 8, 20241 yr Try and talk them into towing you to a shop. It seems like half of your time is spent fucking around with old, unreliable vehicles. I’m pretty sure that these aren’t fun/hobby trucks for you, you make a living with them. It might be worth doing a cost (and time) analysis on buying a new(er) truck.
