WASHINGTON — The Department of Veterans Affairs will end a controversial mortgage bailout program that provides “last resort” assistance to veterans facing foreclosure and holding VA-backed loans, the agency announced. The Veterans Affairs Servicing Purchase Program, known as VASP, will close permanently on May 1, after purchasing more than 17,000 delinquent loans valued at nearly $5.5 billion to keep veterans in their homes, the VA said.

This bald fuck does this on every issue out there.  He takes both sides, then years later CNBC plays repeats of him ‘being right’.  The rubes eat it up.  If he actually was some savant he’s not gonna sit up there and help plumber Joey manage his own retirement (great idea), he’d be another type of asshole we hate - See Griffin, Ken.

I actually respect those women more. They tried to survive, possibly help their families, to live through the horror and dealt with the public shame. Those women had little choice of the situation they were put in.

Scott went into this with full knowledge and power to do something about it, or not be apart of it. But he chose this. You don’t get to be sorry after fucking over 300 million people after you nutted.

Yeah, that has always made me a bit uneasy.  At least they didn't kill them, in most cases.

Bessent lent his credibility, such as it is, to Trump, and lavished praise on his economic savvy.  Whatever else he is, he's too smart to pretend like he didn't know something like this would happen.

Although Wall Streeters are common for SoT, a hedgie really isn't.  Typically, a guy that ascends to the head of GS has a broader knowledge of the economy than a narrowly focused hedgie.

Quote services. Nicely put. That's all the media thinks their job is now.

They aren't even that.  A quote service would entail going out and actually interviewing key players to collect quotes.  Nope, media today just finds the dumbest shit on Twitter, TikTok, IG, etc and pastes it into an "article".

Eat shit, gardiner.

Just to say it: I'm in Yellowstone about 100 days a year. The old and natural residents of Gardiner  - the ones who are working in and around the park - are overwhelmingly blue. The rich as fuck assholes who have moved here in droves, buying up land up and down Paradise Valley just north of Gardiner - that's where the MAGATS are.

What's kind of interesting is why Trump is all jacked up about tariffs now, as opposed to his first term?

Is it because his Chinese tariffs were somewhat successful?  I think one can make a case that almost any tariffs against China are justifiable, because they are "cheating us" in several ways.  That's not true of everyone we have a trade imbalance with.

Something or someone got in his ear about this.

I just went to TexAgs, apparently because I’m an idiot, and there are a few posters laughing at the idiocy and trying to explain simple economics to Aggy.

They are having none of it.   Without any actual knowledge of economics to know how to justify their dumbass God-King (because there is no justification) they resort to administration talking points about how the entire world has cheated us for years - and the brilliant Dear Leader is going to return wealth and prosperity to America……. and certainly it is best to ignore the fact that he is destroying the wealth and prosperity in America in order to….<checks notes > …make America wealthy and prosperous.
