Shit, at this point, I'm looking at getting into the textile biz, figure it'll be taking off soon.  I hear the name "Triangle Shirtwaist Company" is available.

Do we think children have hands small enough to sew knobs into TC Tuggers shirts?

We're not helping these children if we throw excessive money at them. $5/day is more than sufficient if you provide them with barracks, meals, and clothing from the company store.

I thank ye kindly but I move around too much in my bidness to settle down in one spot. My bidness? Tallow candles and fire insurance. This old warehouse, dry as a tinderbox. Reckon you're caught up on fire insurance?

My Swedish immigrant grandmother and her mom and siblings. The dude in the middle has one hand covering up his other hand. That’s because sometime after the turn of the century (19th) he had his hand mangled in an industrial accident working in a factory as a 10-year-old.  You will notice there is no papa in the picture, because he died 5 years after he moved the family here from Stockholm.   The entire family had to work to make ends meet.  My grandmother and her sister both eventually caught two college educated American boys as hubs, so the family’s financial situation became much improved.

Which is all to say, working your minor kids in dangerous factories is practically - as Hank Junior said - an American family tradition.

Sounds like BrisketCanecutter is just making america great again.

Also, borrowed books from BrisketCanecutter library? Sounds like socialism. That’s a nope.

And lower inflation at the same time!

How do we join the BrisketCancutter party? Is there a literacy test? I can spell graft.

Dude.  You do not long game.

1) Destroy public education.

2) Remove child labor laws (see Arkansas as a leader of the pack).

3) Deport brown people who work at chicken plants for $11 per hour.

4) Fill jobs with uneducated 10 year olds for $8 per hour.

5) PROFIT.

You Make America Great Again by getting kids out of those evil librul schools, and putting them to work in the factories and the fields, like the good lord intended.  And if the struggling American family needs more money, well.....have more kids!  All those wage-earners under one roof, why, that's how you really make it in the world.  If it worked for our great grandparents, it'll work for us!  And by the way, have a few more kids than you thought you needed, because....we're bringing deadly childhood diseases back, baby!

And poof!  America is great again!  Like the 1900s!

I have mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, fuck ‘em. On the other hand, education is the only way out of fascism. Further eroding the quality of rural schools will only expand the ignorant mob. And it’s not like these dipshits will ever understand the consequences. Replacing secular curricula with religion, pseudoscience, and ahistorical, performative patriotism is exactly what they want. They’ll be blissfully ignorant.

Theres not much schadenfreude to be had from a bunch of idiots enjoying the fuck out of becoming even worse citizens.

This will be a great Leopard. GM, Ford and Chrysler put in significant effort to get Trump elected. Now Elon is using the withdrawal of the government EV tax credit to wipe out his competition. I expect Elon to pick up either Ford or GM for a big discount in the next few years, allowing him to paper over the inability of Tesla to create a consistent profit. He will have the hype of EV market sales leadership, combined with the steady profits from acquiring either GM or Ford.

No he won't. What assholes like him don't understand is that playing politics hurts your bottom line. He will tank either of those entities. Tesla is only still afloat because of guvmnt subsidies.

The missing immigrant labor in construction and agriculture will be filled with prison laborers...specifically, prisons filled with non-Trump voters as he promised.  Technically, they won't be slaves since prisoners get paid $0.12/hour.

Doesn't matter.  The 13th Amendment has that sweet, sweet loophole allowing for involuntary prison labor.

Honestly, it will just be more direct than that.  Here's a good "deportation" plan:

1) Go to Tyson chicken plant, round up all of the undocumented workers.

2) Process workers as "criminals violating US immigration laws."

3) Due to delays in adjudicating millions of such criminal cases, hold them in prison camps indefinitely.

4) During their stay in the prison camps, bus them every morning to the same Tyson plant where they were arrested.  Have them perform the exact same jobs.  For free.

5) Tyson pays the Federal Bureau of Prisons $1 per hour for the prison labor costs (busses and such).

6) Tyson pockets half their wage savings as pure profit, which goes straight to executive compensation, and uses the other half of their wage savings to book expensive executive conferences (which may or may not even happen) at Trump properties.

It really isn't complicated.  So long as brown people are visibly hurt, and Trump is directly enriched, then it's good policy.

SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!!!!

By the way - and this is really important: those of you who contribute to charities, help people out, and do things to insure that people in society aren't hurt as badly.....STOP DOING THAT.

I'm dead serious, and I'll tell you why.  We have to let the pain happen, unabated, with no interference.  We have decided to touch the hot stove.  If we keep putting something between society's hand and the scorching burner, we will never, ever learn that hot stoves are dangerous and should never be touched again.  The American people will not understand the impact of their choice here until they feel....the full, accurate, and unmitigated impact of their choice.

It is going to suck to watch people suffer.  It's going to be heartbreaking.  But think of it as a parent would; sometimes, you have to let your kid fall and bleed for them to learn the lesson.  You tried and tried, and told them not to do risky thing X, but they made it clear that they are going to do it anyway.  So, the only way for them to learn that risky thing X is indeed a terrible idea is for them to feel the full bore of the pain that comes from doing risky thing X.  It kills you to watch them fall and hurt themselves.  But in the end, it's the right thing to do.  It's the only way.  It's stupid, it's painful, it's maddening....but it is the way.

The American people will not learn about the face-eating nature of leopards unless and until they actually feel the agony of the leopards chewing on their face.  So, stand back.  Take care of you and yours.  And let the leopards feast.

I'm glad your instincts appear to keep you on the right side of history.  Because you would be a scary dictator.  Your doomsday game theory is startling to say the least.

That’s not doomsday - that’s exactly what happened to the slaves right after slavery was “ended.” They couldn’t afford homes, loitering laws were passed, people arrested and then prison labor replaced slave labor for a while.

Bingo.  I'm not prescient.  At all.  I've just read a book or two.  There is nothing new under the sun.  Every play that was run under Trump 1.0 and being run under Trump 2.0 is a play that has been run before in history (ours and elsewhere) in some form or fashion.  Pick up a history book.  Ponder the question "what would an evil narcissist psychopath do?"....then thumb through the pages till you get to one of those chapters, and you have it figured out.
