Executing that quick short-pass, screen game is a lot more difficult than it looks- and he executed it beautifully today. If we get ~250 passing yds with minimal turns out of Quinn then our defense is enough to beat literally anyone in the country. He was a lot better than that today. I think at this point Quinn is our only option. I only saw marginal improvement over his performance against Georgia - who got their ass kicked today, but Quinn's gonna need to step it up next week and beyond. Like I said, some of the stuff we got away with today isn't gonna work against the better teams - at least not consistently. He still looks a little uneasy in the pocket. So Sark has to figure out what Quinn is capable of and push the offensive burden onto our star receivers and running backs. Take the pressure off Quinn. I just get the feeling a straight drop back passing attack isn't going to work, and every time we call that instead of using deception and play action, we will be asking for trouble. We have a good running attack. That could be the key in getting us thru the playoffs. Keep Quinn out of third and long. If you're gonna go deep, how bout play action on first down. No stumbling around in a collapsing pocket.
November 10, 20241 yr So we now either need Bama to beat LSU or Georgia to beat Tennessee and we're in if we win out. Correct?

November 10, 20241 yr Moore has had a good past few weeks, and was getting a lot more targets than usual in the 1st quarter. A huge drop and a bit of a juggle on the sideline hurt him. Sark seems to play the hot hand. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wingo get another big play or 3 before the year's over.

That means every 4th pass was a touchdown. Yeah, my bad. Weird game for # of WR receptions: Bond (3), Golden (3), Bolden (2), Wingo (1), and Moore (2) who also dropped 2 passes
November 10, 20241 yr At the half the leading rusher was a receiver and the leading receiver was a running back
November 10, 20241 yr That Moore drop was half on Ewers for a poor throw. He still could have pulled it In but Ewers didn’t do him any favors.
November 10, 20241 yr It was under thrown but easily catchable. The throw was not great. The drop was bad.
November 10, 20241 yr Yea it’s not 50% the QBs fault when it goes through your hands, hits you in the chest, and you still don’t secure it. Big deal he had to slow down a little. 80/20 Moores fault there.
November 10, 20241 yr Popular Post The drop is 100% on Moore. Ewers's inaccurate throw could be blamed for a non-touchdown because Moore had to slow down but the lack of a long completion is 100% Moore.

He has elite skill talent and Sarkisian can scheme them into matchup wins. He made just enough throws down the middle and outside the hash to keep the LOS scrimmage throws open. He missed Moore twice on the same drive and both would have been TDs. Moore dropped another TD, but Texas scored 2 plays later. I really liked the use of the angle route from Blue against the LBs. We need to see more of that moving forward.

November 10, 20241 yr Author So it's a weird vibe here and obviously ticket prices reflected a weird vibe and going to tailgate late and seeing the exiying fans it was a weird vibe. Something is off when people aren't excited about a complete blowout win against Florida at home where we got to see the depth. It was weird, I've been to and around a few blowout wins and it is always more rowdy than this. We drank all day in town at multiple bars with tons of horns still in gear there. Very subdued and no one talking much about the game or how fun it was etc. Didn't see bro high fives, hear a single Texas Fight or have anyone thrown the horns up at me with a smile. All really normal things after a BLOWOUT of a team at home. Today was a great fucking day and I was so excited all day, probably annoyingly so around my family who knew I missed tailgate to do all this wedding stuff. I was stoked. I threw the horns up and asked about the win and flashed smiles to anyone with burnt orange on. Make the win feel good tomorrow if you didn't today for some reason.

Introspectively, I’m much more cordial when I know there’s going to a negative outcome that I can’t control and I try to find other ways to enjoy myself/be grateful. However, it’s also very possible Florida fans are generally fantastic. I don’t have the experience with Florida to know the answer to either of the above. However, the few UF alums I know are intelligent and pretty rational folks.
