November 10, 20241 yr I didn’t watch a ton of their game today but they’ve seemed very unimpressive at times this season. Yet they took us to the wood shed in DKR. I can’t make heads or tails of it. Hard to say it was just an off night for us because the main problem in that game was their front 7 dominating our offense. It sure looked like a talent mismatch at the time, not the ball not bouncing our way. Would/should we be favored in a hypothetical rematch with them?
November 10, 20241 yr Today was fun. But I'm not sure I've seen anything since that convinces me it wouldn't still be a tight game.
November 10, 20241 yr Popular Post They didn’t take us to the woodshed imo. Kirby and the defense caught onto something snd used it very well. The OL and QB player poorly snd it was still a game late. Still a somewhat bad loss looking back but not an ass whooping I don’t think.
November 10, 20241 yr Quinn coming back from injury and had a bad game. Wisner dropped a TD pass when it was 0-0 and the game went sideways from there.
November 10, 20241 yr Meh. They outplayed us early and we got into a hole. Then we outscored them in the second half. We got beat fair and square and they were better than us that day but there’s no reason to think it would go down that way in a rematch.
November 10, 20241 yr their QB has been very consistent in the fact that he throws 2 ints per game. He did that for us. If we had an offense with a flip that night we would have won, I think.
November 10, 20241 yr Popular Post We're #1 in the SEC and #3 in the nation after today. Who gives a fuck about what this shitty Georgia team decides to do on their 11 off-weeks of the year when they aren't playing Texas. We have Arkansas in Fayetteville this weekend. Let's go whip their ass then see what Georgia is up to.

November 10, 20241 yr We hadn't dealt with their level of athleticism on defense since I guess Alabama last year. Our guys are still a tad mentally weak.
November 10, 20241 yr We turned the ball over too much and had special teams fuckups. The defense had short fields to deal with.
November 10, 20241 yr There was some early cracks that Texas didn’t take advantage of. And when miscues happen, sometimes players overcompensate and tighten up. Texas also started off with some early penalties that set them back. I thought the defense really kept Texas in that game, just needed help. Shit happens but it’s hard to beat the same team twice. All things are correctible vs not having the skill sets to compete.

November 10, 20241 yr We turned the ball over and sucked on special teams. Nothing really more to say.

November 10, 20241 yr Quinn didn’t show up, AT ALL. It was literally just him playing like complete shit that lost us that game. People keep bitching about the OL getting beat but it’s impossible to protect a QB that doesn’t step up into the pocket or get rid of the ball.
November 10, 20241 yr They didn't take us to the woodshed when you realize how shitty Quinn played and how a couple of missed plays would have had us close to tied up at various points in the game.We did get manhandled up front but our O-line and Quinn really shit the bed. We only lost by 2 scores.I think we'd beat them if we played again. Especially with that trash QB beck.

November 10, 20241 yr Welcome to the new CFB world. Top talent will be concentrated in the super conferences but then spread out within them thanks to NIL. So CFB seasons will look more like the NFL and in a long season sometimes another team with great talent plays great on a day when you play like shit. The 1985 Chicago Bears got the shit beat out of them in a highly hyped regular season game against Miami. Now I'm obviously not saying this year's Texas team is the equivalent of that Bears team but that kind of shit happens.
November 10, 20241 yr Should be enough to say we had a bad game. Happens. Edited November 10, 20241 yr by Wishbone
November 10, 20241 yr Texas is usually good for 1 or 2 what the fuck are you actually doing games. That was one of them.
November 10, 20241 yr Offense/special teams lost the game. Georgia wouldn't be able to score on our D if we didn't give them field position the entire 1st half with turnovers/shit punts.
November 10, 20241 yr Poor QB and Special Teams play. Ole Miss punter was pinning Georgia deep, they couldn’t sustain long drives. Georgia was also getting after Ole Miss too with edge pressure and stunts, you just wouldn’t know it because of how smooth Dart was moving in the pocket.

November 10, 20241 yr For one, between how other results on the schedule have broken and the SEC championship/CFP formats, it doesn't really matter. Just keep winning from here and everything's there for the taking. Beyond that, sometimes it just isn't your day on the field or on the headsets, and when that happens against a good team - and Georgia, while not the borderline unstoppable juggernaut they have been in recent years, is a good team - you can get rocked like that.

It sure looked like a talent mismatch at the time, not the ball not bouncing our way. Would/should we be favored in a hypothetical rematch with them? We repeatedly gave them a short field. It wasn’t like they were dominating us and driving at will. Our offense was not attacking and made tons of mistakes. They capitalized.
November 10, 20241 yr A combination of our OL being overrated with Ewers not being 100% game them the key to shutting us down and getting short fields early. Also, Baxter’s size and abilities in pass protection were greatly missed.
November 10, 20241 yr On top of everything else pointed out, sometimes it's just intangible stuff. Like Desmond Howard wearing a cowboy hat, putting a toothpick in his mouth, and proclaiming, "there's a new sheriff in town!" That stupid shit encapsulates the underdog/nobody believes in us/GA vs. everybody motivation Kirby got to drill into his team all week. We were ranked #1. We were the favorite. They had a loss. The whole "welcome to the SEC" new kid in town played a role as well. There was no message Sark could send our players to make them angrier and more desperate than Georgia. Had Georgia beat Alabama and stayed ranked ahead of us, I bet the game plays out differently. There's also the schedule aspect we can't control. We spent the previous week preparing for and playing in an intense, emotional rivalry game. Georgia got to play the worst team in the SEC and spend two weeks on Texas. Just how it's gonna go sometimes. We had a scheduling advantage vs. Florida this week. Edited November 10, 20241 yr by CurlyDumps
November 10, 20241 yr Georgia still has a very good defense and Vandy is the second best team we have played. Manageable schedules are a significant factor in the CFP. Indiana and Penn State also have zero quality wins and both will probably host a playoff game at 11-1 with losses to Ohio State.

Also referenced Rhule talking about this and I guess I'll go ahead and post the clip because I think he nails it:
