5-7 days out for Wyatt.

My non-existent medical expertise says sit him at least two weeks and let's not screw around.

Catch of the year in all MLB.

Favorite Jank was Game 4 of the WS. Stepped in for red hot Adolis and went 2-4, 2 RBI 2 runs.

Jack Leiter’s fastball topped 99.7 mph (and elicited a flyout). His changeup reached 93.9 mph, and he made Jung Hoo Lee look silly with a slider in the dirt.

A couple of errant pitches, but, the gas was there.

Just saw on the guide that Rangers are playing the Cubs on MLB channel at 7 tonight, in just a few minutes.

Jake Burger was at a Nashville hospital until 11 p.m. with his daughter after her open heart surgery. He flew out at 5 a.m., returned to camp at 7:45 a.m. and hit his first homer in the afternoon.

How do you function much less be dialed in enough to go yard when your kid has open heart surgery.

Jack Leiter pitched a 1-2-3 second inning of work. He picked up his third strikeout. Each has come on his changeup, which has ran 92-93 mph, a full three mph faster than he threw it last year. That’s something.

How did Rocker look?

He's consistent?

2 spring starts and each is 1IP and 4ER and 1K.

Maybe he's testing new pitches.

This is funny, from Kennedi's mailbag yesterday.

Nathan [Eovaldi] or [Jacob] deGrom opening day starter?

It’s Jacob deGrom.

I’m willing to listen to the reasoning for Eovaldi, and would likely agree with most of those points because of what he’s meant to the Rangers over the last two seasons and during the World Series run.

But deGrom is still deGrom. The Rangers signed him to a five-year, $185 million deal. He’s the ace. When he’s healthy, he’s the best pitcher in the world. If he’s healthy, he’ll take the mound on Opening Day.

And her tweets today.

Bruce Bochy said this morning that the Rangers will slot Jacob deGrom into the back end of the rotation at the start of the regular season

A quick glance at the first month's schedule shows Texas has enough off days to act as a semi six-man rotation if he slots in at 4th or 5th

----

Basically (if i counted correctly) he'll get an extra day of rest between each of his first five starts of the season if this plan stands

I'm not against that approach to be honest....for the time being.

El Bombi scratched from the lineup today with a left oblique strain.  Headed for MRI

Mild strain and should be back by opening day. But twice in 18 months isn't good.

Interesting seeing the predictions that are coming in. All bullish. Recent mlb.com had Rangers in the top 5 WS contenders, and the top AL team.

It is a Bochy team one year removed from the WS, so he's due.

Any games yet scheduled on the cable/satellite channel? I still haven't found a 677 on Directv. At least a test pattern would be nice so I can add it to my favorites.

Saw the schedule was posted for Apple+ Friday Night Baseball through June. The home games should also be available on the local station's broadcast. Not sure about the Giants away game.

Friday, April 4
Los Angeles Dodgers at Philadelphia Phillies
6:30 p.m. ET

Tampa Bay Rays at Texas Rangers
8:00 p.m. ET

Friday, April 25
Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Guardians
7:00 p.m. ET

Texas Rangers at San Francisco Giants
10:00 p.m. ET

Friday, May 16
Houston Astros at Texas Rangers
8:00 p.m. ET

Seattle Mariners at San Diego Padres

Good afternoon from Mesa, AZ. Going to see deGrom tonight at Salt River Fields

My provider isn't listed on the Rangers sight as having the channel.  I'm going to wait and see if it pops up in a few weeks when it goes live.  But I've already found the Victory+ on my TV in our den, so if I have to, I'll fork over the $100 to watch them.  Sucks, but better than no baseball at all.

IP TV provider at $15/MO or so got me every game, not always the rangers broadcast but virtually every game I tried to watch.

I hate that these fuckers just take a handful of games and make them fucking unwatchable randomly on Friday night. Dicks.

Hohokam Stadium was cool but man it was cold and rainy today. The forecast didn't say it would continue to rain but it's still coming down at my airbnb in Scottsdale. Sucks to not see DeGrom but maybe he'll pitch tomorrow? We'll be in Surprise for the game.

Very cool of you to show up.

I think this is going to be a fun season.

Fuck the Astros.

deGrom looked like a stud out there. If he stays healthy we're gonna have a special season ahead of us.

Can I rant for just a bit? The Rangers gift shop at Surprise Stadium was terrible! No spring training pins, balls, bats, etc. They only had the basic spring training shirts and hats. Contrast that with the Oakland A's stadium in Hohokam that had everything you could imagine. They even had a really cool hat in the green and gold color scheme but it was a cactus instead of the traditional logo. Even the jersey offerings were limited, only selling the home white replicas.

Anyway, I had a great weekend overall. The team looks really good and I haven't had this feeling during spring training since 2023.

Stupid, ugly design. At least it's not this:

There's a woman on IG that has a series of commentary on such things. Her maxim is "if one 13 year old boy sees your slogan, signage, or product and laughs you should reevaluate it".

There's not one of us that would have been able to keep a straight face at 13  looking at these stupid designs.

Someone thought the Mooterus was a good idea too. Someone got paid for these designs.

Especially the AL West.

Tits, ass and anal.

Mariners fans are feeling left out of the good times.

I was just about to post how all the beats are sweating Leiter today, then he does this.

Jack Leiter just followed up four straight strikeouts with three straight walks. Sure, why not.

I swear I read a while back that you could sign into Victory plus with you cable account and get the games, but I don't see any options like that?
