November 15, 20241 yr We're putting up 40 on these rednecks. I firmly believe this. People forget that that 2021 team was Sark's first year and we had no talent. We have 11 players from that team, and our defense is going to go ape shit on them. No mercy. A healthy Quinn will put up 300+ with 4-5 TD's. Bond and Golden will feast. Wingo will have a coming out party. We will break their will to live, and that's a good thing. They will want no part of Sark's teams going forward. They are in massive trouble. Ant Hill, Colin Simmons, Ethan Burke, Money Muhammed, Barron will absolutely make their lives miserable. Full stop.

That stuff was a rubbing-your-face-in-it thing that was still going on in the 80s in the SWC, specifically SMU. The refs even flagged them for it for doing that on regular plays and then started penalizing SMU for it after scoring plays on the following kickoff (15 yards back). Then SMU got the Death Penalty and I don't remember seeing it after that.
November 15, 20241 yr Have any of our coaches ever publicly stated they had a shitty week of practice?

We played NCSU and at Rutgers in one-off non-conference games. NCSU beat us with THREE blocked punts for scores (safety and two TD). We ended the season with the bonfire game, NU's only win against us in the Big XII title game, and then that Cotton Bowl. The team had just quit it seemed.

November 15, 20241 yr Michigan Stadium isn't as loud as it could be with that many people but it was pretty loud for the first few drives. You know, until they realized they had no shot. After everything I'd heard about it I expected it to be much quieter.

The Michigan one is less about fanbase type and more stadium design - wide bowls don't trap sound like narrow, high-sided stadiums like Autzen.

I was at the 03 game. I remember that one. My mistake on the bowl game for 2000. Either way, things are not quite as dire as everyone wants to believe. These assholes have lit their fucking secondary on fire.

I think our bad reputation is very outdated. Back in the late 1980s-1998 we legit had a very bad crowd with the exception of a few big games, everybody brings up the 1990 Houston game for example. Now I think we have a great home crowd, even when they are tossing 8 dollar water bottles on the field.

Primary concerns for me are our inability to run the ball but that is almost instantaneously offset by the dumpster fire secondary they have. It makes our dumpster fire secondary from last season look all conference.

It wasn't the 2000 team it was the 1999 team that played them in a bowl game in 2000 and yes the '99 team WAS pretty shitty outside of a huge regular season upset against Nebraska. We were fine in '03 (minus the 50 point loss to OU) - Arkansas was pretty good that year too. Edited November 15, 20241 yr by ztejas

Are you talking about wine and cheese rep? I don't think it's overblown and you can definitely tell a difference in DKR now vs 5-10-15-20 years ago that it's consistently louder and better atmosphere overall.
November 15, 20241 yr It helped DKR to have that track removed and the stadium moved inward on top of the field. Also closing the north end helped tremendously too.
November 15, 20241 yr Buncha pussies in here. Arkansas sucks ass. We should win like 55-17 or some shit. Their defense is atrocious.

November 15, 20241 yr Ya' need to read at least the first comment. History will repeat itself, except for the falling behind by 14.
November 15, 20241 yr I watched the LSU Arkansas game last night. It was only 16-10 LSU later in the third quarter until Ark had a catastrophic turnover inside their own 5. LSU seemed to run a somewhat similar pass offense to us. Lots of short quick passes. Ark had alternating soft coverage and terrible coverage. If Nussmeier didn't suck balls, that could have gotten away from the Hogs much earlier. Nuss had a couple of real WTF decisions on throws, which we know now is a prominent part of his repertoire. I originally had us winning 30-23. Upon further review I am comfortable bumping it up to 40-23.
November 15, 20241 yr Key match up is our defense against their o. Let’s assume they bring their A game. I think our D wins this, and the rest will be whatever winning offense Texas can muster, which looks to be quite a bit.
November 15, 20241 yr Any tips for parking in Fayetteville? Last time I was there it was a cluster fuck.

I am saying their fans will be lathered up, that their hatred for us is not like Baylor or Tech's. As said several times, this is a state "pride" thing for them. Texas is the haves. Arkansas is the have-nots.

This is not a high stakes game and it is not a big game environment. It is different. This is nothing like playing Alabama or Georgia, which is why it is crucial that the players are tuned in and don't treat it like just another shitty opponent. They have beaten us more times than not since they left the SWC. There is a reason for that, and it isn't because they were good.

November 15, 20241 yr All that hate gonna burn piggy up. There is nothing more deflating than carrying a bunch of anger and emotion into a game and then quickly going down by 2 or 3 scores Step on the gas from the jump
