I still follow an old high school friend who is full MAGA anti-vax, as are most of his social media followers.
Their new thing is that everyone e who got “the jab” is now getting “turbo cancers” - “he never had cancer before, then he was diagnosed with cancer and died in three months! It’s the jab!”
Because nobody was ever diagnosed with an aggressive cancer before 2020, apparently.

"The jab." Do they also refer to everybody as "mate" now?

I use traditional and some functional medicine strategies with a common theme of trying to avoid pharmaceuticals, especially those those that have long term side effects or dependency issues. I still ended up on some but I try to strategize around them. Anyway, I’m getting an IV drip today at the functional medicine clinic and I’m telling the patients about latest Covid protocols from the Covid clinics - basically paxlovid and metformin are the primary meds but then also a few other strategies. Anyway, this woman straight up asked me if the Covid clinics prescribed ivermectin. The nurse straight up asked me if I thought my long covid was from the vaccine. I was like uh no. I had the first vaccine, got Covid a year and a half later and it was no biggie. I had yet to get the second round - frankly I was waiting for the update before a trip to Italy - and I caught the covid and it kicked my ass with 6 months of long covid. I then explained that the vaccine technology isn’t the problem, the problem is the NOVEL corona virus has a spike protein that is the best feature to emulate for a vaccine the problem is no one knew the spike protein would cause so much problems for SOME people because it’s - well - NOVEL. I then said did you know that the covid clinics treat vaccine injury and long covid from the virus exactly the same?  The freaking nurse had bought into the bullshit that long covid is a vaccine problem. Sweet Jesus. Look there are people who have micro clots from the vaccine spike protein facsimile but the vaccine isn’t the root cause of all long covid. My god.

You overhear the dangdest things in those infusion cublicles. I fought ignorance for twenty years at lower-middle-class wages. Not even raising an eyebrow for free. Unless it's like a kid trying to stick a fork in an outlet. And even then, it'd have to be a nice kid.

What did you expect?

Some serious shit going around the schools in Austin.  My friend’s kids’ school supposedly had almost 30% out, my oldest’s Kissel school had 100+ put.  Seems like flu and some stomach bug.

A friend's family had their kid test positive for Flu A and now they all have it.

Wife(no pics) tested positive for flu A. Kids and I staying away in hopes we don’t get it.

Flu A and Norovirus seems to be everywhere right now.  Can’t even count the number of co-workers/friends/acquaintances that are either sick or dealing with sick kids.  My schedule has become a joke with cancellations and rescheduling.  Complete chaos.

None of that shit is real anymore.

It's just a cold!

It’s headed that way.

Sounds like my son stayed home from school, so I’m going to play flu russian roulette when I get home.  Good times

Meh, ran through the house.  Not a big deal.  We were away at a soccer tournament in FL and the kid was able to play.  Wife had a very low grade fever for a day, I had a cough but otherwise, not much to report on.

  • Tylenol cold/sinus
  • Ton of Vit D & C
  • Lots of water and rest

That's good you were still able to hang out with other people when you had the flu. Not everyone is that lucky.

Hit us in route.  Maybe we picked it up on the plane?  Either way, back in the hotel room we all felt it's impact.  It was a soccer showcase, so all we did was to/from the fields, then we chilled in the room.  Worst part was my snoring ass keeping wife/kid up.  I think I need a CPAP machine, as my mouthguard isn't cutting it anymore.

I've never had a flu shot and never had the flu in my life. Some say I have a great immune system, but in reality I'm just better than everyone else.

Thoughts and a few prayers

So yesterday, one of the new people in charge put a hold on external communications for the FDA, CDC, National Institute for Health, Health and Human Services, and a few other agencies.

hopefully there’s nothing on the horizon that could cause any problems.

Nintendo, please shadow drop a new Animal Crossing to get us through pandemic 2, electric boogaloo

Well, there is the Switch 2 coming out this year.

I know, Nintendo needs to hurry up and announce what's coming with it besides MK9.  That's not going to sustain me through another 60 day lockdown

Switch 2 ain't releasing until this summer. We will all be dead by then.

We made it through with a Wii, so we can survive with a switch.  I can get the Zelda games for them.

Son #2 came down with a case of the screaming shits yesterday, so we are assuming norovirus.

Let's just say his anticipation skills could use some work.

It was nice knowing you assholes.

Possible Measles Exposure Locations:

Anyone who was at one of the above locations at the listed date and time should make sure they are up to date on the measles vaccine (MMR).

We're getting smallpox back, aren't we?  I mean, I'm looking at this timeline, and it's pretty much a fucking stone-cold lock, right?

Only if it leaks from a lab.

Is there a particular animal paste we should be stocking up on for measles?
