March 24Mar 24 From left to right thats the highest odds to lowest odds on the school she's projected to sign with.

That's true, but they still drop subtle hints and at least have some notes of positivity. "Not wanting to ruin her moment" and "we'll dive into it deeper after she commits" reads to me like they know it's not us and will explain why after she commits to OU. Combine that with no positive hints anywhere about Texas, as well as the final visit being to OU, my money is she's not coming to Texas. Edited March 25Mar 25 by MuellerHorn
March 25Mar 25 Happy to assume it’s ou. Wouldn’t like it if she visited here this weekend but not there, then committed there. Same applies in reverse- you do that to show where you are going. Wonder what the new wnba cba will look like in terms of draft eligibility. Edited March 25Mar 25 by Pato del Muerto
March 25Mar 25 10 hours ago, Js1 said: I agree The question to AC is - do you want to be the missing piece or do you want to be the centerpiece? If all you care about is the team being built around you and suited to your needs and everyone has to defer to you, she'd never work at Texas. Vic requires a lot of selflessness to be a part of this program - see the reasons why someone like Kyndall Hunter or Matharu didn't last. Not sure you'd find better examples of TEAMmates than Rori, Booker, Holle, our bigs, Moore and past players like Warren, JAT, Lambert, Ebo Shaylee. Where do I sign…..you convinced me….just hope she’s convinced.
March 25Mar 25 I hate OU enough that if I knew for sure someone was committing to Oklahoma, I wouldn't have any issue "spoiling the moment". Blake Munroe is more cordial than I would be as an insider.
March 25Mar 25 Ou sites should be going crazy if it's not us. Are they keeping a secret or does no one know anything.

March 25Mar 25 Watching this tournament, and looking at our recent history, think it's clear Vic needs to tweak his offensive strategy/style whether AC comes to Austin or not. We have so many games where we're rather stiffly grinding it out against lesser foes. Meanwhile, some really athletic rivals are freewheeling their way to 40-point blowout wins. We all love lockdown D, but to appeal to the kind of athletes it takes to match some of these teams, I see Texas needing to start scoring 85 instead of 65.

"AC, we need you to open it up" x's and o's she'd have open looks here with all the size down low
March 25Mar 25 Author Aaliyah Chavez announcement 1pm CST. If I were forced to make a pick, as of late yesterday afternoon, it would be trending to Oklahoma. But Texas Tech was trying to come over the top of everyone late Monday. -Gerry
March 25Mar 25 Well here’s hoping we take that money and go get some great portal additions that are experienced.
March 25Mar 25 Well, all I know for sure is that OU still sucks….no matter who is on the team. Hope she is paying attention…..still about the $$$$.

Go get a 6'4+ post (to replace Jones) and a 6'2-6'3 PF (to replace Moore) + another shooter (to replace Holle, even though we have Phelia and Lee) Harmon/Preston (if Harmon is coming back) Lee/Phelia/transfer Booker/Crump/Jak Carlton/transfer Oldacre/transfer + Abbie/Codio That would be 14 + Graves to hit 15 scholarships. TBD - Moore, Harmon, any transfers (Carlton?) Edited March 25Mar 25 by Js1
March 25Mar 25 ou boards giving an Intel? does it matter she's been teammates on the Nike circuit with Texas commit Aaliyah Crump?

March 25Mar 25 That sucks was really hoping Texas could grab that program shifting player and not watch them always go elsewhere. Maybe we can win a title without her through portal pickups but very unlikely and we will continue the EE and maybe losing in a FF game.

We also bring back Phelia, who sat a whole year, to basically replace Holle and she’s a much better scorer than Holle and has almost 100 games of NCAA experience We basically bring in what feels like a brand new scorer who got to RS, watch film, watch practice and get familiar with the system + bring back Booker and Lee and Preston and maybe Harmon. Texas’ guard rotation is good. Edited March 25Mar 25 by Js1
March 25Mar 25 We’re a blue blood in women’s bball- let’s act like it and beat her ass if we have to play her - yes I’m holding hope we can get her. Can’t stand Texas kids going to that shithole.
March 25Mar 25 Some on the other boards are saying her dad is running her recruitment and doesn’t like Vic’s offense
March 25Mar 25 Vic’s offense would look a lot better if we had a 3pt shooter to keep the interior defense honest. Our post players are double teamed as soon as they touch the ball because there’s no deep ball threat. We went 0-5 from behind the arc yesterday.

He wants and needs 3 point shooters. Chavez immediately opens up the whole offense. But if they don’t care about her focusing on defense at all, that’s going to be the rub

March 25Mar 25 45 minutes ago, Pancho said: Some on the other boards are saying her dad is running her recruitment and doesn’t like Vic’s offense As Vic's been forced to run it this year, I certainly share that view at times. For a blueblood, we've far too often had to really work to get points against ordinary opponents, and when we score it's rarely Top 10 highlights material that might excite a flamboyant prospect. It's clear our better players really love their coaches and teammates, and we're obviously winning. So it's not a culture problem — merely style of play. Contrast this to OU's ladies having a blast raining 3s and zigzagging all over the open court. They certainly appear to be having more fun than we are out there, even if they aren't. Oh, and let's not overlook the possibility that the ultimate alpha might not want to be one of two 5-star Aaliyah C's in the same class on the same team. Not saying that should matter, but not saying it doesn't. Hope we get great news today, but if we do, I'll be surprised.
