Hmmm… I would guess they hoped she stayed at home in Lubbock since they wouldn't have to travel at all for half of her games. Norman is still at least a 6-7 hour round trip drive for her Home games. Not to mention, the locals would naturally be a lot friendlier to the family if their kid played at the local university. Now that she's going to be in Norman, there wont be a local fanbase that asks them for selfies at the local Allsups.
March 27Mar 27 Oh she's from Lubbock. That makes more sense. I thought she was from South Texas somewhere.

In the state championship, she only had 17 or 19 points….I’m thinking a very good defensive player can make it hard on her to get a good look…..in high school she was probably getting a lot of good looks…..it’s not to say she isn’t a great player….I’m sure we will all find out soon enough.

Allegedly TCU is the front runner with HVL graduating I'm not the biggest Miles fan out there, but she's good at some things we've had trouble getting out of our guards. She shoots 40% from deep, passes well and rebounds. Maybe with Phelia's hopeful return our guards do that as a group next year, in which case we won't miss Miles, Chavez or anyone else.

Like a lot of them Bingo. If we're seeking an NCAAW corollary to Shaka's failures with elite talent, Aston's on my short list. At Texas, she was in many ways his mirror image.

Then again, elite recruiters in the women's game often have an advantage over their counterparts on the men's side: The female talent pool is thinner, and Cinderellas are thus more rare. But I digress. Neither of those coaches was an overachiever at Texas, to put it gently. Glad they're both long gone.

April 1Apr 1 Crump's team (East) can barely even get a shot off. The few they've launched have gone astray. Now an 18-0 lead for the West (with Chavez). 😕

April 2Apr 2 Maddy Booker, Jordan Lee, Aaliyah Crump, Bryanna Preston, Justice Carlton, etc. If we don't win it this year, next year we will. But I think it's our turn
April 2Apr 2 Aaliyah Crump looked decent. Wasn't phenomenal but OK. Started for the East, hit a couple shots, made a nice pass or two and grabbed a few boards. But her squad was overwhelmed by the size, skill and intensity of the West, which jumped out to that big early lead and pretty well held it. Most of the East's effective play came from its reserves, including Makeer (SCar commit). She'll be a handful under Staley. Meanwhile, Chavez also lived up to her billing. She didn't win MVP (that went to UCLA-bound teammate Betts), but she took the female 3-point contest. On a positive note, as a Texas fan I did enjoy the couple deep air balls she launched in the game.

Watch some of Crump’s film on YouTube. It better shows why she’s the number five recruit this year.

And they'd both be welcomed back, no doubt. Even if A-Mo is physically limited, she's a great mentor for Justice Carlton.

With Holle gone that ND chick seems worth the investment. Rorie definitely could take a medical and make more at Texas than WNBA.

Pretty sure Miles wants to be a full-time PG, after having to share the spotlight with the ballhog that is Hannah "I'll do it myself" Hidalgo. We have Rori and Preston already. Holle's replacement is Jordan Lee as a sophomore and super senior Leila Phelia, back from her redshirt.
April 2Apr 2 Phelia's return has been overlooked, but Vic raved about her in the preseason. Like, a lot. At one point, I'm pretty sure he said whoever of Phelia/Holle that didn't start at the 2 was going to be the SEC 6th Player of the Year. But injuries derailed that.

If Phelia can guard her own shadow, as I assume she can, on balance she should be an upgrade over Holle. Taking nothing away from the glue the latter has been for this team, but what a huge boost if our team could average 5 ppg more. Phelia should be able to help us do that, even if Jones' replacement is only adequate and Moore remains limited.

Holle averaged 6.6 points over the last 3 years and Phelia averaged 16.7 her last 2 at Michigan. Phelia also watched Carlton sitting all year and watched Jordan Lee busting ass so she knows what's up with Vic on D. Get a serviceable replacement for Jones as stated and this is going to be fun.

April 14Apr 14 Damn. Texas going to have three capable players 6'4 or taller next season. That's going to be nice.
