Please keep it on topic, my dudes.  Discussions about historical prices of Taco Bell value menus and hardships you endured while growing up are encouraged.  If you find some "leopards eating faces" stuff, you can post that too.

Taco bell was expensive. I was more of a Jack in the Box 2 tacos for 59 cents.

When I was young in a lower middle class household, we couldn't afford food in Miami.  Our biggest ventures were tagging along on my dad's work trips to Louisiana.

Tell the one about heading the other direction and the Allsup's burritos.

Allsup's burritos were not a thing when I was a kid and we headed west.  Those trips included long stretches of really open road.  Few gas stations, even.  Most meals were sandwiches mom made from a cooler, eaten at a roadside rest stop.  IF we were lucky, it was one of the ones with a roof, for shade.

Tell an American kid today that no, we won't stop for a Happy Meal, you're gonna eat a baloney sandwich and some store brand potato chips off a paper towel at a 104 degree picnic table....and see how that goes.

I try not to, living in Houston it's probably extending my life expectancy dramatically every day I don't...unless I get hit by a car walking or riding my bike...which will probably happen eventually...

Frozen canned cokes wrapped in aluminum foil were a staple for our road trips.

I presume you mean a store-brand soda knockoff, like one of these gems:

And yes, the ice-cold soda out of the cooler was usually the high point of such al fresco luncheons.

So Taco Bell was invented by a white guy named Glenn, and Bell was his last name? This is cultural appropriation and it’s offensive

#3 is what you do after eating Taco Bell

First time I had spam, my wife fried it and put it on eggs benedicts. I'm thinking about having some this weekend.

I remember this from elementary school field trips. But what was the point of the aluminum foil?

Nope. Tacos are served hot. Sandwiches are cold.
As Mexicans, we fancied things up the other way - road trips were low brow affairs. But when we drove down to spend Saturday at East Beach with all the other Mexicans? We brought marinated meat, tortillas, a small Weber, charcoal, and grilled and had delicious carne asada tacos right off the fire. We was livin’ LARGE.

No I don’t. It would still be better than riding a stupid ass moped in Houston.

In the bathroom?  No.  Not in the bathroom.

Well then it's not "taking a #3" - it's just jerking off.

For some of us, it's bespoke, artisanal jerking off.

Nothing beats the road trip bean burrito and egg and weenie for a road trip my grandma made. God damn it hit and by road trip I mean to visit family at they watermelon farm or lumber yard in munday or the rich family that lived in Abilene and Wichita Falls. As for soda not sure but I know my uncle was a big rc cola fan so we had that every now and then, traded watermelon to one of the cost plus managers to get it for free on the weekends.

Is there ANYTHING that makes the heart beat as excitedly as the found treasure of a gem in the "reduced for quick sale" section?  I doubt it.
