Other than this game deciding a spot in the SEC championship game, do the players/coaches even give a shit about this rivalry seeing the last time we played was 13 years ago?

I am sure the ones with aggies in their family care. Everyone else probably does not.

The only aggies I have in my family are second-cousins and more distant, and none of them actually went to school there.

The game is almost always nationally irrelevant. This game is important this year, but not because of any rivalry.

This game definitely matters. It's not the same as Texas and Oklahoma, which is so iconic it has its own weekend at a neutral site every year (2nd Saturday in October)

This is definitely the RIVALRY game that everyone else also played during rivalry week and Texas for the last 13 years has played as a rotating who gives a shit game.

DKR will be packed next year. Kyle field is the highest priced ticket for any regular season American football game (college or pro) in history.

Its a massive game and it has CCG implications for both teams, that alone makes it a big deal this year without the rest of it.

Florida Georgia is similar to TX OU and Florida Florida State is more like TX TAMU. Both big games, but one is iconic.

Its TAMUs Superbowl. They don't have another game even close to as important.

Have to hit explosive. A&M is 131st in explosive play rate in the country and 13th in defensive success rate. So they are very good down to down, but tend to give big plays

I have to say I want to beat down these fucks more than OU this year. A little payback from big bro.

Then things will settle down and I'll be back to ignoring them as much as possible.

Hey Sark. Can we please, for fucking once, not start a big game going backwards and punting? Let's change up the opening script:

1st and 10 - sideways pass, -3 yards.

2nd and 13 - conservative run, 2 yards.

3rd and 11 - sack.

The first series we get the ball on offense we need to use some misdirection in the play calls IMO. Anytime you go on the road to play a team that considers the game to be their Super Bowl you’re going to see an amped up foaming at the mouth over pursuing hair on fire adrenalin baked bunch of defensive players. Set them up to take advantage of the inevitable over-pursuit that will be in effect the first drive or two. Hopefully we win the toss and defer so we can pin those bastards back and play on their side while we grab an early lead and shut some of the noise down.

I prepaid $20 for a parking pass out by the Bush library (lot 43 I think) as a “just in case”.

hoping to find something a little closer in. Have no recollection on where I used to park back in the day.

May try to see if there is still space in lot 12, 38, 18, 98, 114, or 110 the day of as I’d expect those would allow for the easiest exit (green is public parking)

This also true, sadly. I love me some Collies mom has one), Blue Heelers, Shetlands (mom has one), Australian cattle dogs, Swedish Valhunds, Australian Sheppards (mom has one), Border Collies  All are great companions. My mom got them strictly because they're great with kids (my neices and nephews) and with other dogs (mine). They're fucking awesome. They'll watch TV with you, don't bark, just want cuddles, and they greet literally everyone who comes go the house, burgalers included!

No one gives a shit.

That dog is dead now so I'm guessing aggy will also give it a jersey this weekend.

Yeah I went one time, about 40 years ago. McIvor and the Horns tore 'em a new one. Never felt the need to go back and be surrounded by that mass of miserable excuses for humanity.

Nerds love Marcel Reed but still pick Texas in a close one.

Never like playing a team that’s backed into a corner, we should be them handily on paper but they have the ability to really come out with greater intensity than expected.

They could also crumble under the intense pressure placed upon them by their fans, admin, alumni, donors, etc.

Should be interesting.

Defensively, Texas has a real advantage. A&M is pretty good at staying on schedule, but I dont think they score with any consistency, if Texas doesnt give them short fields (turnover and punter)

Offensively, this is has more variability. They have a good DL, but not great pass rushers. They big powerful guys. I think the OL can handle them. A&M is excellent down to down, but give up explosives (long runs and deep shots). Those are 2 things the Texas offense does not do well. A&M is not a great tackling team, that is where I think Texas can get some explosives. Helm and the RBs in the pass game are a mismatch vs the A&M LBs. If Texas can win 1st down this game will be a comfortable win. IF A&M defense is winning 1st down and Elko can go mad scientist with his blitzes, some anuses are going to be puckered as this will be a dog fight.

And this tracks with the eye test. Elko tends to play things pretty straight on early downs and his DL all weigh 285+ so it's hard to run on them early, but it's not a great pass rushing DL because of that. Once Elko gets the offense into passing downs, he dials up a lot of blitzes and his teams usually disguise them pretty well. Elko either gets home or gives up a big play. However, teams that throw on early downs or have success running on them and stay out of obvious passing downs tend to do pretty well against Elko.

I noticed Auburn had a lot of success with the hard counts getting the LBs and DBs to show who's coming and then it was much easier to burn their blitzes. Unfortunately, we won't be able to do a lot of that on the road, so it will be up to Sark's play calling and the team executing to stay ahead on early downs. Our OL has to avoid false starts and holds this game. Those will absolutely kill drives against Elko's defense.

Edited by Burt Macklin

Rumor has it Sark is crafting up a special play to either commemorate Case McCoy's historic run to set up the game winning Tucker FG, or to save for a "do not break glass unless emergency" last minute miracle play.

I looks something like this.  But who the hell does he get to run the play?  Ewers and Manning are obviously over qualified; they are too agile, fast and coordinated to make the play successfully work.  Who on the current roster is regarded enough to make the play work?

Screen them to death.

This feels like our biggest game in years honestly given the build up. We are the better team but we need to come out with intensity. That place will be a madhouse.

Well, considering we played in the semi-finals of the CFP just last season, no this isn’t the biggest game in years.

This.  I almost got in a fistfight in Tallahassee when this Nole got really angry when I refused to admit that Florida State was our big rival. I told him, “your name is not Georgia, you are the annoying little brother.”

I don't think there's a lot of future prediction value on their review of aggy's Defense. You can't expect them to make these kinds of mistakes; first, because they hadn't been making mistakes like that previously, and second, because they're going to be fired up and prepared for this game.

All that said, our worst opponent has been ourselves all season, no matter the opponent. When our opponents do well, it's almost always due to our own errors, shooting ourselves in the foot.

That’s the importance of the game to the cult driving the price not the broader importance of the game

Who do you think is driving up that price? I’ll give you 3 guesses and at least 3 of those guesses end with the letters “….g-g-i-e-s”

I mean it's dumb that they're making a big deal out of get in price on Tuesday. That price will be under $500 by Saturday.
