What a job by Steve Sarkisian of preventing World War III in College Station #HookEm

It looked to me like they were going to send Banks back in but after the 1st possession they realized Goosby was up to the task.

Listening to the aggy call in show and some guy called in saying he’s a Longhorn fan that lost $3200 on this game because he bet on aggy.  He then proceeded to bitch about aggy not utilizing Georgia’s game plan to blow us out like he thought they should have.

Haha….he’s an aggy…..no Horn fan would have made such a stupid bet!

Scip said the defense had 3 missed tackles on the game. That is just ridiculous at this level of play. Just an amazing job

Looking at his twitter, even Johntay Cook was a Texas fan last night.

With Bond and Moore obviously injured if that dumb mother fucker had just put his head down and put in work he'd be logging big snaps right now. Even if he wanted to transfer he'd be able to build up his reputation in these massive games. What a fucking idiot.

That may be true for quality football that wins games, but it can't be denied the SEC is a more physical league overall.

The teams we played may be lacking offensive originality and some exceptionally elite skill players and make some dumb mistakes, but even the lower tier teams have NFL sizes players blocking and hitting/tackling with intensity and reckless abandon.

The way our team was built just 3 seasons ago would have had about the same success BloU had this year.

Because our team 3 years ago sucked. That team went 5-7 in the Big 12 so saying that they would have gone 6-6 in the SEC isn't the support for your argument you implied it is.

The SEC is slightly better than all the other conferences every year but is tremendously oversold as a nightmare gauntlet of a schedule.

Oh, I'm not arguing the overhyped thing, but now that we can possibly benefit from that in the future I think it's best to go with it in public while speaking truth among ourselves.

"Poor aggie" on the surface is pretty mild, but for some reason hearing it makes aggy immediately see red.  You would expect accusing them of having relations with sheep would be more offensive. "From the outside...."

As we all expected. If you would have told me that Taaffe was going to be the top safety in the SEC (per PFF) I would have laughed.

Texas S Michael Taaffe has been a game-changer for the secondary this season.-57 tackles, 4 TFLs (career high)-2 INTs-6 PBUs (career high)-1 forced fumble-1 fumble recovery-0.19 yards per coverage snap (leads SEC)-90.6 defensive grade (leads SEC S)

I am trying to think of another guy who started as a walk-on and then played their way to being (possibly) all-conference.

And Ricky Williams doesn't count.

I saw it too. I thought that was pretty messed up. Now just imagine if we host the Aggies for Gameday next year and someone holds up a sign that says “Texas A&M Lincoln Log building society needs 12 new members due to 26 year inactivity”. That might cause an actual war with the dog worshippers.

Nor does Quan.

I mean, Taafe wasn't even recruited. 0 stars. That title game defensive MVP is a hint, though.

He's still got no draft ranking to speak of. I expect he'll just walk his way onto an NFL starting job.

The beauty of that is that he’ll probably have multiple FA offers.  Pick and choose your team. He will be playing on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays!

Eh, they hadn't moved the ball more than about 40 yards all game after the opening drive.

They were probably as close to a TD there as they were going to get.  Then a FG to tie would have been a less daunting proposition.

11 in a row. When has that happened last?

Longest true road game winning streaks in Texas history:

1. 16 games - 10/18/2003 (40-19 @ Iowa State) through 10/28/2006 (35-17 @ Texas Tech). This is 17 if you count at Reliant against Rice as a true road game (9/30/2003 48-7) but you shouldn't. Road loss before the streak: 11/16/2002, 38-42 @ Texas Tech. Road loss ending the streak: 11/11/2006, 42-45 @ Kansas State.

2. 15 games - 11/26/1981 (21-13 @ Texas A&M) through 11/17/1984 (44-23 @ TCU). This counts a game at Little Rock against Arkansas because you should consider that a true road game of course. This is also a 17 game road non-losing streak. Road non-win before the streak: 11/17/1981 14-14 tie @ Houston. Before that there was a 9-7 W @ SMU on 10/24/1981 and before that was the loss before the streak, 10/17/1981, 11-42 @ Arkansas. Road loss ending the streak: 11/24/1984, 10-24 @ Baylor.

3t. 12 games - 10/26/1968 (38-14 @ Rice) through 9/18/1971 (28-10 @ UCLA). Road loss before the streak: 9/28/1968, 22-31 @ Texas Tech. Road loss ending the streak: 10/16/1971, 7-31 @ Arkansas in Little Rock. If you don't count Little Rock as a true road game, which is wrong but okay, then this streak reaches 18 games through 11/18/1972 (27-0 @ TCU) and is ended 9/21/1973, 15-20 @ Miami.

3t. 12 games - 10/14/2000 (28-14 @ Colorado) through 11/2/2002 (27-24 @ Nebraska). Road loss before the streak: 9/16/2000, 24-27 @ Stanford. Road loss ending the streak: 11/16/2002, 38-42 @ Texas Tech. Yes, this means that if we had beaten Texas Tech on 11/16/2002, we would have had a 29 game true road game winning streak.

5. 11 games - 11/5/2022 (34-27 @ Kansas State) through 11/30/2024 (17-7 @ Texas A&M). Road loss before the streak: 10/22/2022, 34-41 @ Oklahoma State. Road loss ending the streak: TBD.

If Bevo isn’t allowed in The Tacklebox, the mutt shouldn’t be allowed in TMS.

It's cringe as shit but damn if sitting there watching on TV with my die hard Longhorn fan 17 year old son who was 4 the last time these teams played if that wasn't the moment (especially when our players took the field and the LHB fired up dueling Texas Fight) that I finally reconnected with the old feelings of this game.
