Sark's Lanning-esque coaching

Is that supposed to be a compliment?  Because I don't think it is.

I mean, I don't recall Sark gettng all emotional and deciding to run a poorly-advised play on 4th down...

Well, according to those stupid maps they showed a few times, Elko will just drive to Giddings.

Elko's game management was awful. Look at the drive after the blocked punt. They get the ball 7:48 at our 19 and do this:
Snap @ 7:48 - 1st down 8 yard rush
Snap @ 7:19 - 2nd down 10 yard holding penalty
Snap @ 7:02 - 2nd down 16 yard comnpletion first down at the 5
Snap @ 6:33 - 1st down 3 yard rush
Snap @ 5:42 - 2nd down 1 yard rush
Snap @ 5:09 - 3rd down no gain
Timeout to decide kick or go
Snap @ 4:39 - 4th down no gain, turnover on downs

They burn 3:12 (40% of the remaining game time), waste a timeout and get 0 points to remain in a 2 score game! Idiotic. We get 1 first down and they use all their timeouts and we get through the two minute timeout. With so little time, the game is basically over even before we force the game winning fumble.

I said at the time that if we got the punt off and tackled the returner, the game was won. We weren't going 3 and out and they couldn't move it fast enough. Even on their one sustained drive in the second half it was dink and dunk 4 yards at a time.

Sucks to suck.

It’s not like we didn’t warn them that it’s going to be like it always was. For some reason, they thought things had changed with them being mid in another conference instead of mid in our conference.

I was sad when Jimbo left because the ineptitude seemed at a high point, but I think I’m going to enjoy the Elko era about as much.

who is the majority on this topic doesn't really matter because it's beyond our control

that said i am only happy because they are miserable and that's not a rivalry

a win over aggy that qualifies for "happy" is a score of 78-0

this happens to be one of the very rare years where the win had benefit for us beyond instate recruiting

i hope they start crying to the b1g trying to get out before next year's trip to austin

Quote

"Public Ivy" is an informal term that refers to public colleges and universities in the United States that are perceived to provide a collegiate experience on the level of Ivy League universities.  [1][2] There is no trademark for the term, and the list of schools associated with the classification has changed over time.

The term was first coined in 1985 by Yale University admissions officer Richard Moll, who published Public Ivies: A Guide to America's Best Public Undergraduate Colleges and Universities. That initial list included eight universities and nine runners-up.

The List:

College of William & Mary (Williamsburg, Virginia)

Miami University (Oxford, Ohio)

University of California (applies to the campuses as of 1985: Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, Davis, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, and Riverside)

University of Michigan (Ann Arbor)

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

University of Texas at Austin

University of Vermont (Burlington)

University of Virginia (Charlottesville)

Yes, please sweet Baby Jesus, match aggy up with Tech, BU, or TCU in the Texas Bowl.

More karmic justice for the gomers.

aggy will come unglued if matched with rape but they should be able to beat all 3

Y'all remember how the SEC was able to choose bowl match-ups for their teams?

It's one reason why we never played aggy the past 13 years. Is that still a thing? If so, we won't get a former SWC bowl game with aggy vs Tech, BU, or TCU.

not so fast my friend

there are some differences this year.....

aggy showing their ass repeatedly over the past 3 years and the high road we take on everything has likely created a karmic deficit for gomer on snakey's whiteboard

let's just see what he does with (to) them in their bowl matchup

in addition, not just 2 but likely a 3rd team are getting pulled out of the bowl slotting agreement hierarchy

snakey may have no choice but to "screw" aggy

Maybe, but they could also come down with an awful case of COVID or explosive diarrhea and have to pull out of playing the game.

Dan Lanning is a cold blooded killer and if you are focusing on one play to define him, you are making a big mistake.  Sark coached a hell of a game Saturday night and several of is in-game strategy calls out foxed Elko.  Just like Lanning has done this year time and again.

I was stunned that they didn't come after our last punt, especially after already getting one. It was the second (maybe third) best thing that happened for them in the game and down 10 you have absolutely nothing to lose at that point. If you get another one it's a game changer and it's pucker up time for us, if you don't get it the game's over anyway. Made no sense at all

Lanning is a hell of a coach. I love that we have Sark but Lanning is fantastic and I'd be ecstatic if he was HC of my favorite team.

What's up with all the Lanning fellatio? I've watched Deboer drag his nutsack all over Lannings face in big games 3 times at UW. He's a good coach, but ill need to see him not choke on a dick in the playoffs before I  put him in the elite category.

I'm not focusing on one play -- I'm focusing on him losing three 3-point games to his biggest rival over 2 seasons because he makes multiple emotional decisions to go on 4th down and because he regularly preens for the camera trying to act like a tough guy.

I see that Lanning is now getting the surly one great season overhype. Maybe it's just a green and yellow thing, turns out previous winners Matt Rhule and Dave Aranda aren't actually coaching savants.

Aggy and Rape are both 8-4, except Baylor has won six in a row. They just took out a hot Kansas bunch last Saturday 45-17. I would give them a real shot at taking down Aggy, they would be more motivated than the sheep bangers too.

Nah.  Let's don't.  Poor aggy.

I’ve been good at work this week. Office aggy just lost his SIL, and the other longtime season ticket holder just had fucking brain surgery. Hopefully, they bounce back soon, and I can rub their noses in it.

Has the UT Mini Movie for the aggy game been posted yet?

At 3:26 in that mini-movie there is a slow-mo end zone view of this throw that shows a perfect spiral, not to mentioned Ewers absolutely dimed it:

Glad to see our players stand up and speak out for their brother.

Aggie fans are low-class. That sign was not the least bit surprising to me.
