December 3, 20241 yr sigh. bad matchup for us. have to limit our offense/ST giving the dawgs a short field. Considering the TOs and blocked punt with aggy, and well the luck (they dropped two picks) I just can't see it. it is who we is, is georgia 24 texas 17 33 rushes for 98 yards

There’s the door. I’d add to this - the team gets more rest winning this game and getting a bye (3 1/2 weeks) than they do if they have a first round home game (2 weeks). December 4, 20241 yr 10-7 It's gonna be a grind. The D will do what they do. Our hobbled QB will do what he does.
December 4, 20241 yr I see we got a couple ppl in here acting like hoes, but honestly I get it. Most are looking at this game from one angle , but I feel like that first game was an anomaly. Texas won’t play that bad again (hopefully) and even if Georgia plays that good again I still think we had our opportunities the first time to make that a game even as bad as we played and we did. I like the horns here if we don’t turn the ball over. I believe Ewers an the O-Line have it on there mind with how had they played last game. Defense gone wreck shop like always offense just has to play which I think they will
December 4, 20241 yr Would you rather be champs of the SEC SEC or national champions? Why does it have to be one or the other? I want both. It's right in front of us. There's no one team you point to this year like a Bama or Georgia of years past and say they are clearly better than everyone. Winning the SEC puts us in the best position to win the national championship. We get an extra week of rest. Get the highest ranking we can get which will be #2. Only need to win 3 games versus 4. This is like getting the bye in the NFL playoffs.
December 4, 20241 yr We finally stop shooting ourselves in the foot when trying to put the game away. We're going full Haitian on these dogs. 35 rushes for 175 Texas 37 Georgia 16

December 5, 20241 yr Somewhere in the Texas 38 Georgia 17 range. Would be surprised if the game isn't over by at least mid 4th quarter.
December 6, 20241 yr It took them EIGHT overtimes to beat a 7-4 GT team. They scored ZERO points in the first half. There is nothing to worry about. This is going to be a mudholing.
December 6, 20241 yr On the availability list released before the game does Georgia list: Out Probable Arrested

This is going to be a mudholing. Maybe, but this is the type of team, 2 titles in the last 3 years, that is on the decline but still capable of raising their game for big moments, as we saw in October. I seriously doubt it'll be anything but a coin flip game. Plus, we know both teams are in the playoff so do they both go all out for the conference title? I could see Texas wanting the title more, but Georgia wanting to get the stink of the GT game off and make a statement. The film guy Brooks had some interesting film on the first matchup. Saw a level of execution Georgia did, especially in coverage and run defense, that they haven't done in another game all year. Can they duplicate that? A couple of the more interesting notes: With their team speed Georgia doesn't get beat for explosives on screens and quick outs, pretty much ever. Said he couldn't remember the last time he saw Georgia film where a screen hit them for more than 20. Our extensive use of the quick screen game was smoked in that first meeting. Georgia went man a ton on 3rd down and they blanketed our receivers. Which was surprising since they haven't done that nearly that successfully all year otherwise. Most of the time would disguise as zone presnap then go man. Ewers and Manning had issues recognizing it. If they had recognized it there were man beaters for huge plays open that were missed. Other thing is Georgia usually gets run on by the QB run game. We don't have that with Quinn, which makes the OL's job a lot more difficult. If Georgia plays at anywhere near the level up front as October the OL will need to be ridiculous to get the running game we want going. Seemingly, we just aren't nearly as bad a matchup for them as other teams, including GT who can use King as a battering ram extra running back. We'll have to play very well or hope they just don't show up.

December 6, 20241 yr Friday edition of college gameday totally shitting on Texas and o-line in particular.
December 7, 20241 yr Texas - 27 UGA - 17 Texas rushes 24 times for 83 yards. But we throw for about 320.
December 7, 20241 yr Really hoping for the reverse jinx (which, when I tried it in October, sadly proved to be a fairly accurate): Texas 20 UGA 23 We rush 33 times for 118 yards. Edited December 7, 20241 yr by Gut Wagon
December 7, 20241 yr It should be a closer game, but our weaknesses are still there to be exploited - specifically, Quinn Ewers. And we cannot grind down UGA's DL the way we did against Kentucky and A&M. UGA 24 UT 13 77 rushing yards on 23 carries
December 7, 20241 yr This is probably the hardest game of the year to handicap. One thing I absolutely would not touch is the O/U, as this could be anything from 4Q dogfight to a wire-to-wire Texas blowout. If I had to bet the number, I would take Texas ADJ Line at -9.5 for +200 @ 1.25 units, and also place a separate half-unit on Georgia ML for +125. That gives me the upside payout for the UT beatdown (which I think is prob 70% likely), along with some insurance against an unforeseen bedshitting by the Longhorns. If Horns win close then I lose both, but I just don't see that scenario unfolding today. Overall, Texas has a great chance to dominate this game based on the exceptional strength of the defense, along the running game + schematic combo that will enable Sark to essentially "Quinn-proof" the offense. The extra wrinkle with Arch makes Kirby's gameplanning a lot more complicated, and also (FINALLY!) implies a willingness to swap QBs altogether if Ewers completely implodes again. Only thing that gives me pause is fact that Beck has not played a good full game basically all season (he's played like 3-4 good "halfs"). If he finally plays to his potential, and Etienne is healthy enough to give Dawgs balance on offense then there might not be enough endurance from the Texas D (or any team in the country) to keep 30+ points off the board.
