The Variety review was excellent (also, you can tell when Owen Gleiberman wants to go the extra mile on a review). For the record, he didn’t love it, but there was a lot of affection and admiration for its ambition.

(jesting aside) Caught a recent trailer of this that piqued my interest. Hailee Steinfeld used to be an automatic in for me but then she started her horrendous music "career". Thinking about giving this one a shot in theaters - maybe my girl Hailee is back.

So, there's that.

Now she's hot in a "I'm fucking Josh Allen and I have money and here's my latest crappy single with my ass on the cover" way. It's just not the same, man. She'll never be hotter than she was in Bumblebee.

April 11Apr 11 Glad to see the reviews. I was stoked about it but the trailers tempered my anticipation a bit. I’m back in.
April 11Apr 11 Super excited about this one. I see that they shot an IMAX version - I might try to catch that one.

April 18Apr 18 What’s the deal on IMAX? From what I see the only true IMAX is at Bullock and there are a couple of lesser IMAXs in town. Is it really that different? The Bullock times are harder for me to make.

April 18Apr 18 fantastic fucking movie. from beginning to the two post credit scenes - nonstop suspense.sucks no tits but there was this one scene where Hailee did something that most people (not me) would consider to be disgusting, dirty, unladylike, kinky, and uncouth (again, not me). also, and unrelated to above, I’m pretty sure Coogler loves eating pussy.

Oh i have no doubt Hailee is going to become and even bigger name after this one.

April 18Apr 18 I will say though, if you don’t have a good amount of experience speaking with old southern black men or can’t recite any notorious BIG lyrics from memory Well thats 99% of this site lmao
April 18Apr 18 My review: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 There were 3 or 4 moments that I chuckled to myself because what I was seeing was so creative and good, namely the big musical number and the mid-credits scene. Really fun movie. I found the vampire stuff to be the weakest part, but the rest was A+.

April 19Apr 19 Enjoyable movie, especially in 4DX. Michael B. Jordan is going to have quite the career when he is done. The guy is just good in whatever he is in.

Spent 15 years hanging out in South Dallas. No issues whatsoever understanding anything that was said. That made the movie more fun to watch. However, I would say a good bit of this board should do what you said and wait for subtitles or they’ll be completely lost.

Bear in mind the median age of this board is probably 50, firmly Gen X and has been watching TV unapologetically with subtitles for a decade. TL:DR, they don’t understand white people shit either.

April 19Apr 19 How far ahead of time do you have to get to the Bullock IMAX to get a good seat? I haven't been to a movie with general seating in a decade or so.

April 19Apr 19 I’ve started watching in subtitles (millennial) because the damn score and music is so loud but the dialogue is so soft in about 90 percent of everything now.

April 20Apr 20 Wow, this is a great film. Just saw the IMAX version and it did not disappoint. The score is amazing, as is the acting all around. Highly recommend.

April 20Apr 20 45 million in its opening weekend. Biggest domestic opening for an original film in a decade. Going to see it in 70mm IMAX today at 4:05.

April 20Apr 20 This movie is slick as hell. Really great. The musical number with the flashes of different time periods was electric (and I don’t just mean the guitar).
