2024 SEC Championship Game: Texas vs. Georgia - 3pm on ABC

We didn’t see Helm enough today.

I concur. All I really saw of him is he got beat by an Edge, but Quinn didn't even attempt to look his way. It was frustrating, but it is what it is at this point. I feel for Helm since he's done everything asked of him, but he still has another chance to show out.

When I wake up tomorrow morning and think about this loss, I will probably want to throw up.  Fucking gut punch.

You think that’s a possibility? I don’t.

I like having a competent Punter and Kicker and someone that can sniff out a fake punt when the other team's Punter just got carted off.  Let him be recruiting coordinator.

Carted off UGA punter can probably still kick injured for more yards than Kern.

Georgia emptied the playbook and we might have leaked piss down our leg. I'm not embarrassed, but we should have won even though they run it down our throats even though we should have known it was coming.

I'm glad he's not missing the first half of the first playoff game.

Yep, same. When I saw the hit in real time I knew immediately it wasn't targeting because you could see him leading with his shoulder. The fact that the sideline judge literally couldn't see what we saw on TV was both dumb and incompetent.

Yep
hope we get these fuckers again in the playoff and win by 21

I don’t know what’s more preposterous. This offense scoring 3 TDs or Burt kicking 7 FGs.

Think about this for a second if you want to throw up -

Mike fucking Bobo  out coached a supposed offensive genius. Let that sink in. We are FAR more loaded on offense for that to ever happen. I can't do anything other than shake my head in shame

I don't know what the fuck happened with Burt. He went from clutch to getting in his own head. I do not understand it at all. It's weird.

Texas Oline has been whooped last 2 games against Georgia. No one else has done that. I'm pissed but it is what it is and we ain't done.

It's almost like their scouting department is better at identifying weaknesses.

Well Jeff then maybe you should do a better job.

We got fucked in the first half penalty wise where ewe should have pulled away. Once GA pulled ahead in the second half with a backup QB I knew it was a uphill battle.

Why are penalties, especially the type we get mostly (false start, variants of offsides, holding) blamed on coaches?

I get the issue of discipline and if you have players wilding out with unsportsmanlikes, etc. that's on the coach/culture.

But I don't know how you discipline out brainfarts like our penalties?  And when you have one guy that seems particularly prone to it. And today was exceptionally bizarre.

Are you supposed to run it out of em?  Hook their balls to a car battery? What?

You do it thru constant drilling of fundamentals.  As a squad.  Accountability dictated by the group.  One dude fucks up the team pays the price.  Does Sark even have a 7 man sled on the practice field?  Do they spend much time on drills vs running these complex plays in practice.

Dude, the refs sucked ass, we all know this; but we made it a game and got to overtime.

The refs didn't fuck us in OT, we fucked ourselves

Burt got the yips.  You can’t know until the big game if he’s got em.  I would have left him in Atlanta.

Clemson true frosh kicker nails it from 56 as time expired

Texas should have won on the Oline, and they didn't again. Georgia continued to expose our O-Line. Not sure why GA is the only ones to expose it so far, but they have done it twice now.

Yep. I don't know what's going on in that kids head, but damn. He missed some easy layups that last year he could make with his eyes closed

It's just a fucking atrocious, inexcusable fuck up to go with Kern and not bring in a veteran punter to start this season.  Auburn was pretty good last year, it's kind of understandable that you would assume he would be solid.  If we don't bring in an all American type place kicker for next season, that's another massive fuck up.  And, of course, a punter.

When the refs want a team to win,  it is pretty difficult to overcome that without perfect a performance.  This game was basically a WWF match. The outcome was predecided.   Once you realize that it is much easier to digest.

And your point is?........I never said anything to negate what you said. I agree with you. Chose your battles.

Probably because Georgia is better than the other teams we have played.

I mean I guess that's the theory, sure.  But I don't know how you cure repeat offenders like Cam Williams.  Then you have the guys today like Burke and the WR getting penalties they've probably only gotten once or twice in their lives, if ever.

It’s simple.  They’re the only team on our schedule that could

We had a chance to step on their throat in the first half and we let them live. That has happened for 4 weeks now at least and finally bites us.

Hopefully we learn .

Thank god we are done with Quinn (Dak Prescott) Ewers and sideshow Burt, who couldn't hit water if he fell from a boat after this year. Fucking chokers.

The off sides against 91 was brutal. jumping vs lining up is terrible, completely unacceptable.

Maybe, but the jumbo screen at the game didn’t lie. A ton of holding by Georgia wasn’t called. Stinkey didn’t like CDC giving him the middle finger about the bottle throwing.

I watch 40+ college teams a weekend with qb’s that can at least sidestep the first man or throw the ball away. Quinn can’t do it. Not to mention he repeatedly steps into sacks when he has like 5 other options on the play that are better than doing that. I know the ankle is bothering him but he has done absolutely nothing in 8 quarters against Georgia to help his oline out.

Totally agree. That one also made me livid. Those were some of the boneheaded penalties I mentioned in the game thread. Bond's holds, his offensive PI, Cam Williams false start and some holds. All that chit fucked us.

Lol.  This isn't just a this year problem.  It has plagued us for awhile.  Also for multiple seasons now we suck in the 3rd quarter.

It's ok to admit they're just not an elite unit. Really good against most, but this Joe Moore talk, nah. You can't have two stinkers against the same opponent like that and be the "best" OL in college football.

Texas OL vs Georgia:

55 carries 60 yards

13 sacks allowed

I'm a bit annoyed our guys didn't take that personal. Now, they can just call em "daddy." Cause GA's front clapped them cheeks.
