I walked into the Buckeyes semifinals game with those options, a refundable Atlanta hotel reservation and exchangeable airline tickets to Atlanta a week later. It was very comforting to go into that game, knowing that if Texas won, I was covered for the CG without having to stress and wrangle for getting to it. Sure, they made money on me, but I don’t regret it. You just reminded me I think I have SWA airfare credits from the championship game LOL

August 15Aug 15 There are federal regulations that require airlines to allow customers to cancel flights within 24 hours of booking for a full refund. So I’ve done that (book flight just before game then cancel right after if we lose) a couple times Booking has to be made at least 7 days before the flight which works when there are 10 days between games
August 18Aug 18 I checked the site now to see what's up. It says Texas is sold out and The Fan Marketplace will be opening on October 10, at which time fans will have the opportunity to sell their RSVPs. Check back then!
August 19Aug 19 I’ve never seen that. I wonder if they already oversold and are going to have inflate the market price to buy back excess. or the better question is how leveraged (oversold) are they each year playing this same game making up the difference on the 20% commission on each transaction until it’s time to “margin call” the excess close to the end of the season. Demand for Texas must be through the roof
August 19Aug 19 I have been tracking national championship tickets for the last 2 years since there was a chance Texas would make it. What I learned is, I would be paying about 1k per ticket to get in. I’m not looking at the best tickets but I’m also not looking at nosebleeds. Somewhere around the middle. They are very expensive and when Texas makes it, the prices are not doing down. I also don’t really think it matters who Texas is playing. The prices are going to be high, we always make the demand go through the roof.
August 19Aug 19 I've never used cfp-rsvp. Is the October 10 part normal? As in, could a guy with a RSVP to another team sell his RSVP today or would he also have to wait for October 10 to sell?

The “marketplace” function doesn’t open until October…for every team, not just Texas. You can only buy until then. No one can sell until October. This timing is consistent with past years.
October 7Oct 7 Author Fan marketplace opened today. As I type, we're sitting at $120, which is too much IMO (tied with aggy for 8th highest). Bama at $160 seems like a decent bet, compared to the other prices.
