He's right -- if SMU had scheduled Utah State instead of BYU, they would have already been in.

My Playoff Wish (aside from the obvious): We make it to the Peach Bowl and the CFP informs us that, yes, they have space for Bevo.

He’ll still wait for 3 weeks later

Yeah i think it’s a legitimate argument. I just think when they made the decision not to punish us it was easy to let it cascade to PSU and SMU

I think the committee boxed themselves in with all the playing in conference championships won’t penalize you.

Oh my, we did get the coveted 5th seed to take on Clemson and then ASU in the next round, the sour taste from last night’s debacle is slowly fading. Horns all the way. Hook’em Horns. Sark, pls let Manning in if Ewers is mentally not in the right place. We can always bring him back after a couple of drives!

So....the football board?

Until Sark findx a way to play Arch, Horns may start calling it the Red Ass Zone?

I thought OSU got screwed. I don’t get PSU above them

They played Oregon close and had only 1 loss before the champ game.  If Oregon drills them OSU probably gets the spot.

Loss Column rules all and they had to keep the "don't penalize for loss in CCG" facade up.

We actually got screwed by the CCG bye.  we'd be the 3 seed with a bye.

Well at least Sark just said he probably should have utilized Arch earlier for his running threat…. Hopefully we see much more of him in the playoffs.

No

Sark is going to war against that ear piece in this interview

Wrt our players experience, I would think a substantial % of our players have experience playing in Jerryworld in high school playoff games.  A plus because of the distraction of the huge screen.   I don't think our team has played there, no?

Other than that the major plus is our guys have experience playing in Dallas, which means the routine could be  basically the same as playing OU...same bus trip, etc.

Here is hoping if we get to the Arlington game the organizers allow us to stay in Austin and have a week of practice, instead of spending a week in Arlington. What are you gonna do in Arlington?  Go to Six Flags in January? nope.  Maybe compromise and arrive in Arlington one extra night to make appearances.  This is a job, not playtime.

If I were a betting man and/or speculator, I would try to get tickets to the Jerryworld game.

Other random thoughts; I don't think the GA backup QB who beat us has ever been hit as hard as he was yesterday at the end.  Timing is everything.  Hit him that hard early 3rd quarter and it's a totally different game.  I can bet he will be slightly hesitant running the middle of the field his next game.

More importantly we are still going to need Arch.

I can feel it, not quite as strong as 2009 season when Colt went down against Alabama, but I can feel it.   That year I absolutely knew we were going to need GG.  Mack earned all of the hate that year for refusing to play GG in competitive situations when he had the chance.

This is almost like a small second season, kind of reminds me of the NFL back in the day when the Cowboys needed a 2nd stringer QB to win some playoff games and more like the NY Giants when Rutledge came in for the injured Phil Simms and won the Super Bowl.

There needs to be uniformity in scheduling if this goes forward. Every P4 needs 9 conference games and at least one OOC against another P4 team. That shouldn't be that difficult. But spare me this whiny shit over Bama. They lost by 21 to a then 5-5 team that won only 1 conference game going into that. You shit the bed.

So Notre Dame the favorite?  Doubtful, but I’m guessing they’re factoring in the Georgia QB situation which is an unknown as of right now.  Interesting that they think Texas’ path is slightly easier than Penn State’s because I would say the opposite. I think they’re a little too high on Ohio State vs Tenn.  And, finally, the fact that they project the lowest odds to the (3) non-SEC/B10 conference champions and SMU tells you all you need to know about the flaws in current CFP seeding whether you like it or not

Under the hypothetical Texas/Oregon matchup…would Oregon still pick Arlington (less travel, on a faster indoor track) even if it’s a de facto road game?

It’ll always be the same argument that whatever three loss SEC team is better than 1-2 loss whoever from “lesser” conferences. They should just turn the SEC and Big 10 into the NFL model of NFC and AFC and the remaining teams can more closely resemble college football.

And they can't let it penalize you, otherwise those fascinating and very profitable games will go away eventually.

Gross, that would be the worst possible thing to do. I'm sure it will someday be at least considered, but if I wanted to watch the NFL I would watch the NFL.

It's true about Sankey and Swarbrick, but Klatt and pretty much everyone else are significantly underestimating the benefit of the bye right now. It's weird that's they're all complaining about weaker conference champions getting byes because they're so valuable then acting like Oregon with a bye is screwed.

They also lost to a Vandy team that lost to a Georgia St. team that finished 3-9. I don’t even know why they were being considered over other options.

I love that Jan. 1 is wall to wall great games again. I miss that every year since the playoffs were created. There were many Jan. 1s watching the bowl games and doing the calculations of who wins or loses and how that will decide the final rankings.

This is even better.

No kidding. Byes have huge value in football: rest and reduced chance of injuries.

That said, I wonder if UGA would have preferred no CCG and landed w/ the 5 seed.  BYE would have essentially been yesterday, but Beck and Thorson would not have been injured.

They can't re-seed because people don't want to see PSU/Oregon and Texas/Georgia back to back and for a 3rd time in a season.

If Texas makes it to semifinals and their game is in Jerryworld it will be great as I already have tickets as my wife (no pics) is performing in the pregame with the Rangerettes as it is the 75th anniversary of the Rangerettes performing in the Cotton Bowl.

They will tweak the system and they probably should to remove the autobids for champs. But all this online and on-air crying over a 3 loss Alabama who lost to two 6-6 SEC teams is just pathetic. "No one should schedule a tough OOC every again". Bitch, you scheduled 5-7 Wisconsin, 6-6 South Florida, Western Kentucky, and FCS Mercer. That's not the murder's row you should be trying to pin your life on.

Well peoples personal preference is not a valid reason to not reseed
