Post Georgia panic. Combined with post Strong and Herman catastrophizing.

I wish the administration would have somebody follow the UT ticket buyer/seller FB page and similar ones to it and cancel tix for these people who are no better than ticket brokers/outrageously profiting. The amount of posts I saw for people who couldn’t go to the SEC championship for people who were selling because “something came up” was nauseating.

UT admin knows the entire story. One of my longtime friends is a huge ticket broker and holder of a lot of UT inventory.

Texas is, and always has been aware of this, and it’s good for them because it guarantees season ticket revenue from some of the more difficult seats to fill, and also the ticket broker I am mentioning is a significant NIL contributor.

Our home field advantage is good  enough that selling tickets to random ass fan bases doesn’t bother me. It bothers me when Packers, Yankees or RedSox fans take over a stadium and pay a greedy owner.

But this isn’t exactly the same.

Man, I told y'all the committee loves to find/make up a good story and Texas-Clemson gives you a) first time matchup, b) completely different NIL philosophies, c) the rematch of Ewers and Klubnik from HS and d) "Texas didn't want Klubnik"

So based upon what I gleaned from the odds to win on Saturday and overall odds to win- if we beat Clemson making it to the final 8 we should have ever so slightly better odds of winning it all than Oregon, right?

Getting over my skis here a bit but I think it depends on who Oregon ends up playing and how the models view that matchup.

Yeah- I went too simplistic. It's interesting to me that we were so close to Oregon even having to play an additional game to them.  I think you are right- it might matter if they play OSU v TN (and similarly GA might matter if they play Domers v Indiana.  The other games won't have much of an affect one way or another b/c the 3 and 4 seeds will be favored to lose.  If seeds hold it's probably Texas slightly favored to win it all after round 1.  If TN beats OSU then Oregon is probably the favorite.

Sark has to self scout if we are going to have a chance and figure out how to fix the 3rd quarter and red zone problems that have plagued his offense since he got here.  His offense is great outside of the 20 and the 3rd quarter, but he needs to scout himself and see why his offense is terrible in those situations.

It would probably help if we didn't get a 10-15 yard penalty and end up with 3rd and 20 something every time.

I get all that and all are valid points. It just sucked when a significant portion of LHF seats around me at Mercedes Benz Stadium on Sat were occupied by Georgia fans. So my complaint is maybe more about neutral sites.

I’m interested to see attendance. School is out so the student section won’t be full. Plus, a lot of people have plans 5 days before Christmas and won’t be able to make the game. I’d be surprised if it’s a full house. We’ll see.

Bet they have a plan to fill the student section if they don’t get enough requests, but I’m optimistic about their turnout. Would be pretty embarrassing if it isn’t a full house, besides the requisite SEZ seats.

Ohio State is maybe the most interesting story in the playoffs. They were basically guaranteed our 5 slot at minimum if they beat Michigan. Now they get Tenn in round 1 then Oregon in round 2 if they advance.

On the surface it appears we got the best draw in the field. Have to go through the only 2 teams with a less than 1 percent chance to win it all to get to the semis

yeah, because we are playing 2 of the weakest teams in the first 2 rounds.

Having to play ASU is a much easier draw than having to play Tennessee or Ohio State.

Shitting down our legs is a good summary of the offense since the OU game. You think we want this anxiety?

List the QBs we’ve faced this season that are better than Klubnik. Put his 2024 stats against Quinn’s. He's a better QB than 2024 Quinn.

In the last 2 years, in games against similar talent, where it comes down to who executes, Quinn is 1-4 (Bama - OU, Wash, UGA, UGA)

I also think Ohio State is going to beat Oregon.

Ohio State has flaws but their defense is still nasty. Oregon's defense is just OK. I don't see Oregon's offense scoring 32 again on Ohio State's D. I predict Ohio State winning a 23 to 20 type game.

Case in point. Clemson is not nearly as good as any of those teams.

Oregon so overrated. Prob won't even make it out of the quarters.

I think the semis on our side will be Texas vs. Tennessee.

Georgia vs. Boise on the other side.

They have the best/most experienced QB of the playoff teams, right?

Probably stupid question, if not outright regarded, but... who do we have in the coaching booth?

The fact people think this Clemson team is comparable to last year's Alabama/Washington and this year's Georgia is how you know they are clueless.

They are not in the same stratosphere.

clemson has an experienced coaching staff over there. this going to be a dog fight. sark and staff has to give a better effort this game. the offensive game plan vs bama was horrible

wouldn’t be shocked if dabo and saban have talked about this one.

Bro, this Clemson team is nowhere near as good as '23 Alabama, '23 Washington, and '24 Georgia.

Jesus. Clemson wasn't even going to make the playoffs had Miami not choked in the final regular season game of the ACC.

100% agree

The ACC is the reason Bama isn’t in, after all his crying yesterday I’m sure Saban is going to help them look better against an SEC team.

No one is probably worried about Clemson most are worried about the Texas offense and special teams. No killer instinct and error prone from play calling to penalties. We are who we are by now and if we let a team hang around that has a coach that knows how to win it can be a problem.

The problem is, and literally every talking head as well, is that Sark refuses to use Arch even when the boat is sinking and he needs to when it can give us an advantage. It's maddening that Sark is holding this offense back by not making a package for Arch against [name opponent]. It not only stubborn, it's stupidity.

I’ve posited that Sark has been holding it back until the playoff.

The defense has afforded him that luxury. It will be interesting to see if he pulls the top off next Saturday or waits until NYD or even the Cotton Bowl.
do I actually think he’s purposely hindering our offense? No, but I do fully believe he has more tricks in the bag and has felt confident we are still a playoff team without showing much of an Arch red zone package.
At this point, it’s all worked out with an easy draw and the biggest downside being the risk of significant injuries having to play 4 additional quarters relative to the top 4 seeds.

It's simple. When you can't run the ball when you need to bad things happen.

While this is true, Sark's offense is predicated on getting players open in Space, and letting them work.  Down in the red area you don't have that space anymore so you have to find another way. Even without a running game you can run PA quick slants instead of just throwing fades into the endzone.

Or get guys on an island with a mobile QB forcing the defender to make an impossible decision between staying with his man or leaving him to stop said mobile QB from an easy walk-in TD

That works too.  Just anything other than trying to run your normal offense that is dependent on finding open players in space.  There is no space down there, it doesn't work.  We have to score from 30+ yards out or its a FG.
