Stupid people in NJ look up at the night sky for the first time, believe every moving light is a drone

Another random acting like a drone expert, saying he "validated" that there were no aircraft flying around Branchburg, NJ at 8:30pm on Christmas Day. He did this by checking Flightradar24 at 20:30 UTC, which is actually 3:30pm Eastern.

Also, cites a TFR that only extends up to 400 feet high as proof that there should be nothing there, and pretends to be an ex-Black Hawk pilot (although he dances around actually using the word "pilot"). No pilot would ever be confused about UTC time or not know how to read NOTAMs. He also doesn't charge his phone at 5%, which could be the biggest offense here.

What was flying in the area at 8:30?  Inbounds to Newark Airport and one heading to LaGuardia off in the distance:

Nah, man, a bonafide American hero says something fishy is happening.  Who do you think you are to question him?

Soooo, did this hysteria just naturally die down? Or was there some explanation?

They have gone the way of the migrant caravans filled with ISIS terrorists carrying billions of pounds of fentanyl.

Someone/thing flew a drone down my alleyway last night around midnight, about 15 feet in the air, small one with a green light, I started thinking of this thread and laughing too hard to go out and investigate it. So the aliens have won.

An hour long video to listen to the CEO of Vigilance Elite.  I think I'll pass.

Of course the red light was shot out in combat.

Just because they are unidentified by the genius with the camera or the twitter user doesn’t mean the people at JFK don’t know what they are.  If this is actually near JFK and somewhat contemporaneous.

NOW - Drones flying over New Jersey were authorized by the Biden FAA: "This was not the enemy."

But I was told on good authority that Chinese and Iranian drones would obviously have FAA-mandated running navigation lights on them, showing us where they were at!

Remember how important these drones were and how we needed answers? And now they just aren’t there anymore and we forgot about it.

Totally weird. Someone should look into this.

Same thing with Palestinian protests. All that shit came from Twitter.

On the bright side, pronghorn has finally fucked off

On the infuriating side: because he fucking won.

I was so pissed this thread was bumped. Represents the absolute dumbest of humanity (weird how that overlaps with a certain sect of people). This is the worst thread on the site besides maybe any of the Chad Briscoes.

Can’t quite put my finger on it. It’s a mystery

I'm pretty sure that this country being awash in really fucking stupid people is still a thing.

The aliens are eating cats and dogs and keeping FEMA aid from getting to North Carolina.

The post above is just a reminder of the absolutely batshit lies the opposition is dealing with…and they need to tell even bigger, better lies next time in order to win. Lies are the only currency of any value, might as well get with the market.

Best way to prevent FEMA aid from being cut off is to just get rid of FEMA

Which they are doing.  Oklahoma and Florida are going to be turbo-fucked every time a tornado or hurricane rolls through.

I think we all know exactly why the alien sightings have stopped.

Alien travel vacation season ended.

This thread is a textbook case of media failure and how the desire to drive engagement and appear neutral over time has lead to an actual media bias: I favor of stupid people and those who manipulate them.

Media framing: Thousands of people report unexplained lights in the sky. We try to find out what they are.

Correct framing: Thousands of people are suddenly afraid of and mystified by completely explainable airplane navigation lights and other every-day phenomena. What is driving this instance of mass delusion and hysteria?

I will admit, though, that if the media did it correctly about 90 percent of stories would be “you chowderheads got fooled again.”

That would be tedious for reporters and consumers.

And we can’t have that
