This is America.  Just call them "school kids" and you can shoot as many as you want.

If I lived in motherfucking Jersey I'd be trolling these idiots with fireworks, loud fog horns and shit. Call into radio stations with all kinds of dumb ass claims.

I didn't do any of that, but I happen to live next to an airport and posted a night video of a small business jet on short approach to the runway. It was blatantly obvious it was a plane, and my caption sarcastically said how it looked resembled that plane model, and so on....it was the most obvious joke in the world. The video blew up at got 1M views in 5 days, with comments ranging from a bunch of "it's a plain [sic] you idiot" to bizarro conspiracy theory/shady government stuff. We already knew this, but this country is fucked.

Do you want me to go through and reiterate all of my very detailed posts on this thread?  And why is this political?  Because I agree with Brisket on pretty much every political item he posts.

How much do you need to lead a drone? It seems like they would be easier to hit than dove.

If anyone needs a C4 hookup for their drones, I know a guy.

It’s not inherently “political”, but the “discussion” around it is absolutely the same psychology. It seems clear you WANT this to be a conspiracy. Brisket and others have brought fact, logic, and reason to the table and you are rejecting it based on…well, feelings.

Sure your conjecture COULD have some merit, but ALL of the evidence points the other way. Yet because it’s the internet, everyone gets an equal voice and the audience has an equal chance to be misinformed.

Just take a look at which media outlets are running with these stories.  When you find yourself siding with Fox News or aggy, take a step back and rethink.

Sorry.  Every issue is binary and politically connected.

Don't ask me.  If it flies, and you're looking for somebody to miss the hell out of a shot at it....I'm your guy.

I mean, this discussion is absolutely revealing of how much of America thinks in binary terms:

”There have been some drone incursions into military installations and since there’s 8,000 legal drone flights per day it’s likely people have seen some.  However, there’s no evidence of a mystery drone invasion on the east coast and nearly all the reported sightings appear to be regular manned aircraft.”

“But you just said that drones are real.”

Paper plates will be sufficient.  Just slap a Nissan Altima decal on your drone.

I'm sure this has been addressed but if the drones were from the Chinese military, US military, CIA or even a private US company while are they flying with lights? The drones don't need lights for navigation or even to stay away from each other.

My guess is that these are drones by private individuals that are bored of only flying above their own house? Can't private drones now be programmed with a flight pattern and return home?

The venn diagram of UFO grifters/believers and drone worries is basically a circle.  The grifters have pivoted to this because they see an opportunity to expand the grift and hopefully overcome some of the friction inherent to being an alien kook by focusing on something more plausible.

“Harmless” fringe and irrational beliefs always break quarantine and it’s our tax dollars being spent to deploy military tech to track United’s DC-NY shuttle.

I have asked and so have several others.   It never gets addressed.   I guess Aliens can cross the universe, but only with FAA required safety lights.

well at least the aliens are being respective of our laws.

Where have I do that?  What I have said is civlian reports + military reports + people receiving classified reports and saying there is something there lends me to think that, more likely than not, there is more to the story here.

You mean like the Wall Street Journal (admittedly not liberal, but a serious news outlet), the BBC, the New York Times, and CNN?  Those liberal rags?  And aren't you relying on...well, feelings?  You saw it reported on Fox, and now assume that everyone who treats it seriously is a Fox News nut?

I have not seen a single person on this thread suggesting it is aliens.  And if you're a normal person flying the drones illegally, why would you keep the lights on either?  I think the bottom line is that it doesn't make a ton of sense to fly drones with blinking lights over a populated area unless you (i) are doing it intentionally and don't care or don't think you'll be caught or (ii) you aren't sophisticated, in which case, why are we struggling to put a stop this?  Blinking lights don't exclude much of anything.

I love how the option of “it’s a combination of legal and normal drone flights and many more misidentified aircraft” isn’t even considered.

You make a good point. We really should consider this to be aliens. Aliens have the means and the motives!

The alien bullshit is being floated online by the mentally ill/incompetent/Joe Rogan listeners, and we have elected officials at the national level (in the House of Representatives) publicly claiming they were told it was Iranians (because Iran is in a great spot to be picking a head-on fight with us) while other officials at the local and national levels are being careful with their words because they don’t want to be proven wrong, and we have certain news channels stirring the pot with unhinged or grifting guests looking to stir up the tinfoil crowd, and when you mix that all together with a healthy dose of social media, we end up with half the population panicking.

Of course it’s considered. My only point is that it shouldn’t be the only thing considered, especially with the incursions on our military installations.

What I like is the “do your own research, don’t trust the government, don’t trust the mainstream media” crowd is not doing any research on air traffic patterns, is not asking why these things have running lights, is listening to grifting politicians trying to stir them up, and is listening to the mainstream media (Fox News).

It should be strongly considered when the NSC and DHS Secretary say that’s what’s going on.

They have said that is their initial assessment and that they’re investigating. But they have no idea what it is. Which is why a lot of the politicians on both sides of the aisle are pissed.

Ehh, the tinfoil crowd has been trying to see what’s happening on various military installations for many decades (since at least the 70s).  The internet is full of their photos of Area 51, etc.  Every now and then one of them is arrested for trespassing.  Same goes for actual spies.  Drones just add another avenue of surveillance for them.

I would encourage you to, as you say, do your own research and review the actual WSJ reporting on the Langely drones. Seems very unlikely that the feds, so accustomed to nabbing trespassers as you rightly point out, would struggle for weeks over one of our most sensitive bases.

Google Translate needs to add a “federal government official or spokesperson” button so that people can know when they’re being told that they’re being really stupid.

I’m just quoting what they said. Sounds like you heard what you want to hear, so that’s the important thing.

Go re-read Prong Horn's posts on the first couple of pages. He's definitely hinting at it. And that's the thing when you're questioning folk's responses to the conspiratorial notions floated in this thread and elsewhere. The dude is either a hateful and certified loon who posts during his night shift at 7-11 or a Russian propagandist operating during Moscow's normal business operating hours.

Recent history suggests being very wary of misinformation that spreads like wildfire across the media spectrum because pricks like him get off on spouting lies in the online world to watch America eat itself.

Which is why they probably know more about what’s going on that we do.  The military even said a few days ago that they’ve been used to dealing with drones for years, and that they have the means to deal with them when they are directly over a base.  In the same briefing, they said they can’t do anything about them when they only fly near a base or are over civilian areas, other than talk to local law enforcement (and the quality varies greatly based on the interviews we’ve seen).  But they absolutely have eyes (or more fancier equipment than the Mark I Eyeball) on this stuff - Picatinny maybe mostly concerned with small arms and small and known for their rifle rail system, but they also test other gear the grunts carry, including optics/sensors.

And anybody wanting to spy on a military base is not going to have the running lights going, which makes me wonder if it’s drones being flown out of Picatinny, since they test a lot of the smaller equipment

And those are not our most sensitive bases - Naval Weapons Station Earle is for loading ammo on ships, and Picatinny is mostly smaller stuff hidden away in buildings - the really sensitive stuff is not in fucking New Jersey with millions of people around, it’s out west where the military/feds fully control the land and airspace for miles around their Installations.
