May 22May 22 George Coulam, founder of the Texas Renaissance Festival, has reportedly been found dead at his home. Law enforcement officials said the Todd Mission Police Department (TMPD) responded to Coulam’s home on Wednesday, May 21, where the 87-year-old Ren Fair founder was found and pronounced dead, according to The Houston Chronicle. Coulam’s body was found around 9 a.m. local time, CBS affiliate KHOU and NBC affiliate KPRC-TV reported. The Texas Renaissance Festival confirmed Coulam’s death in a post on its Facebook page. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of George Coulam, founder of the Texas Renaissance Festival,” the post read. “For more than 50 years, he built a community that has become a cherished tradition for generations of performers, staff, and guests.” “At this time, we ask for respect and privacy for Mr. Coulam’s family and the extended Texas Renaissance Festival family as they grieve,” it continued. Known to many as “King George,” Coulam founded the Ren Fest in 1974, according to KHOU and KPRC-TV. Earlier this month, a Grimes County judge ordered the festival be sold following a lawsuit, KHOU reported.
May 22May 22 Coulam has been in and out of court on the proposed sale of the RenFair. Maybe now the campgrounds around there won't require hepatitis shots and penicillin for all the STDs.

May 23May 23 Piano Man on the clock. Billy Joel is cancelling every concert on his itinerary, 17 shows in total booked at stadiums across North America and England, due to a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). “This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,” reads a statement from Joel’s team. “Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health.” “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience,” Joel says in a statement, “and thank you for understanding.” Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus is a brain disorder where excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain’s ventricles. “[It] can affect several brain-related abilities, including thinking and concentrating, memory, movement and more,” reads an explainer on the Cleveland Clinic’s website. “The symptoms of NPH look very much like those of dementia, but NPH is sometimes reversible.”

May 31May 31 Margaret’s character was great when she was paired up as Frank as a bad guys of MASH. When they lightened up her character and Frank left, the show wasn’t as good.
