He is. How I wish he were a bad motherfucker who had a pick-6 in his last game.

Wins the Thorpe Award, only makes second team Walter Camp All-American.  Make it make sense.

More hardware for the Trophy Room and ammo to laugh at LSU claiming DBU status.

Things that matter!

Funny enough. Both he and Outland Trophy Winner Banks were committed to other teams in the recruiting process.

Congrats to Barron. He made that number 7 even more special.

Was it Barron that challenged the pizza delivery guy to a game of hoops when the pizza was being delivered?

I think it was.

Babers made a point that he has very good ball skills but he has terrible return skills. He's just not good with the ball in his hands after the interception. That should have been an easy pick 6 if he immediately saw the freeway wide opening and just took off. The tight end wasn't going to run him down from behind.  Instead he hesitated looking around and allowed the guy to get in position. Didn't help Guilbeau just started celebrating instead of looking to block.

I love Roderick Babers as much as anyone…but that’s some high level bullshit analysis. Almost to the level of Dave South commenting how well Cory Pullig tackles after throwing interceptions.

First fucking post in the thread is this shit. Battered Horn Syndrome strikes again!

Love this guy like I love Overshown and Diggs. Those dudes absolutely love The University of Texas just like the rest of us.

He took a risk and returned in order to play outside.  It paid off handsomely.

He will print money. He bet on himself. Well done.

Damn proud of him.  Great year, he really elevated his play.  DBU!!!

Hunter is far from a joke. The draft will prove this. Let’s not get carried away here. He’s a great player.

He’s not the best at anything. Maybe the best at aerobics. He’s gotten a ridiculous amount of hype. I can’t remember ever seeing that before. He’s a heck of an athlete. His future is on offense though, to me.

I mean the Heisman became the Top Media Darling award a looong time ago. And he’s clearly got that locked up.

I love that they have the water bottle play in that clip

It is ok to pump up our guy without fake hating another guy.

Travis Hunter is real.

Jahdae Barron is a muthafuckin Longhorn.

Previous game, not final game.

He is correct. Assuming we get to face Dillon Gabriel, he will actually be the first QB we’ve played all season who can hit NFL windows consistently. It sounds insane but go check the schedule and tell me I’m wrong.

I’m not a Christian so my own bias is that I’m usually bemused and annoyed when athletes mention God/Jesus in post game talks. It seemed especially prevalent this season. But, I really like how Jahdae described it before leaving the podium. In that context of being blessed to play, compete and share it with fans on the field. I really liked that… and really excited to keep rooting for him in the NFL.

I have a little Jahdae Barron story I think I can tell now.

At our fundraising PR event, two days before the Clemson game, Isaiah Bond was speaking to the press. He was promoting the event and about talking how much charity could help someone like him who didn't come from a privileged background. One of the idiot local TV reporters asked how his health was, and was he going to play in the game. (I thought this was pretty rude TBH, since we were there to promote the event. Maybe ask the guy privately, but not in the middle of the promotion, asshole)

Isaiah answered him about how he felt fine and was going to say more about his health.

I was standing next to Jahdae and he frantically waves with his hand to stop Isaiah from talking about his health, which he instantly did. I think this was less about the event, and more because they may have been instructed not to share any info about the team.

Just a quiet, little show of leadership from Jahdae. I was very impressed with both of them.

It's perfectly legitimate for a reporter, at a press event, to ask a pertinent question about a player's health. It's totally fine if Bond and the rest of the players were coached to offer a non-committal reply, but the reporter was just doing their job while covering a promotional news event.

Also Barron was badass this year and will definitely be missed. Kudos to the NIL team for retaining him, and the coaches for coaching him up.

Agreed on all counts. I've practiced and taught both journalism and PR. A reporter who doesn't ask questions isn't much of a reporter at all. Not trying to go CR here, but our system depends on as much independent journalism as we can get. The PR end needs to be ready for that, and it sounds like Jahdae was.
