We watched it tonight. It was a pretty good watch and might stand up over the long run.  Cast members in Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, JK Simmons and Lucy Liu.  Using current Hollywood talent that today's audiences recognize will help with the "sell" of the movie.  Krampus and Gryla might be too intense for some younger kids, but overall I'd watch again next year.

Google tells me that this movie had a budget of 250 million, and that it was released a month ago.

somehow, this is the first I’ve heard of its existence. Not a great sign for recouping that quarter billion.

Only made $167m worldwide at the box office when it was in theaters

Not bad.

Would def let it run in the background next couple weeks

When they was on the beach. Every chick was smoke tho

Haven’t watched it, probably won’t but it’s already in the conversation of most expensive flops of all time. Box office was so bad, they apparently accelerated the rollout to Prime. Johnson was reportedly paid a ridiculous $50,000,000, which is a giant hurdle to overcome right out of the gate.

Of course, none of this means it’s not watchable in some way (I like looking at “smoke” chicks on the beach). I also need to justify that $139+ tax I shell out for Prime every year… what the hell, cue it up!

I made it about 15 minutes and bailed.

I'm not super into Christmas movies and CGI dominant movies, nor have I liked anything that the Rock has done outside of Moana and Jumanji.  For whatever reason though I watched this last night, and I actually liked it for what it was.  My expectations could not have possibly been lower, but still.  I doubt I'll re-watch ever, but it was kind of fun.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would because I was with my 11 and 9 year old sons in the theater, eating way too much popcorn, and drinking big sodas.  We don't do that enough.

I feel bad that I almost tried to convice the 9 year old, who was the one who wanted to go, that we shouldn't based on the reviews.  Lesson learned. Just take the kids to see what they want to see and roll with it.

I enjoyed the heck out of it, just for an escape for a while.  But I have notoriously poor taste, as shown by being a part of Surly.

Watched it this weekend with my wife and son. Fuck it, I liked it.

Not the biggest fan of Xmas movies in general but I gotta admit, this one was a solid A- holiday movie.

This isn’t a movie that will go into the annual Christmas movie rotation but it was fun watch.

Watched as a family.   Wife hated it, kids enjoyed it, I thought it was boring except Krampus slaps.

I had low expectations going in and it definitely exceeded them.  Best Rock movie I've ever seen, which is admittedly a very low bar.

San Andreas was worth it for Alexandra Daddario and Carla Gugino.

Pain and Gain was good. I liked the Jumanji movies, too.

Running around in wet tank tops.

With the context that I already subscribe to Prime so this is free to me, it was fine and fun.  If I paid for it, I'd say it fucking sucked.

All of this.  It wasn't a great movie but it was fun and something i could see watching again with people who haven't seen it for the laughs.

Sometimes a movie is just a popcorn flick and entertaining. That's it.  It wsa MUCH better than i assumed based on reviews and like the few in here that said it sucked.

slept through about half of this after getting into the eggnog.  probably won't try to watch the rest. JK simmons in the farmers insurance crossover commercial with this was amazing though.

also i'd let kiernan shipka as gryla do unspeakable things to me

This was a lot of fun.
