Then Redbull had a terrible release that resulted in Max hitting Kimi in the pit lane and caused Kimi to miss his box when he was pitting for slicks (nothing Kimi could have done). Completely screwed his race. The guy does nothing wrong, actually does an incredible job of not crashing both of them out after the Red Bull fuck up and it ends up costing him. Not as bad as Fernando, but there has to be some way to penalize the perps far worse than 5 or 10 seconds when you completely fuck over someone's race due to your (or your team's ) dumbarse decision.
May 4May 4 Max having 3 poles this season in, unequivocally, a lesser car is stupid. He's already one of the best ever.

Particularly when you consider that if Kimi hadn’t reacted so well his car could have been punted into his pit crew.
May 4May 4 What did Williams do to become more competitive? I read they’re devoting their resources to the 2026 car. So the current car is basically the same as last year’s right?

You mean like finishing last after the time penalty? It's a million percent a team mistake not his.

I wonder if the penalty would have been more substantial had Red Bull torpedoed someone else's race on a Sunday, rather than a Sprint. Normally, 10 seconds for the guys running near the front is just 2-3 positions for races that don't finish behind a safety car.

I'm a HUGE Albon guy, if only for him helping me get my Asian nephew into F1 and giving us something to bond over. I also think he got the short straw at RBR when he was doing as well as could be expected. Love that Carlos is getting a chance to shine as well after losing his seat at Ferrari simply because Lewis wanted it. Really like Williams when I first started getting into F1 heavy (when COTA showed up) and it was Massa and Bottas in the Martini livery, so I'm thrilled to see them back in the fight to be the best of the rest this year.
May 4May 4 Author Lando acting like they don't have the best car while he passes drivers like it's Hamilton in 21 Brazil 🙄
May 4May 4 Ha! Was just thinking how easily he’s picking them off 1 by 1 and it’s only been like 3 full laps of racing after the yellow.

May 4May 4 Charles frustrated behind Lewis. They shouldHave swapped them as soon as they got passed Carlos. They burned up Lewis’ tires. Now both Ferraris are screwed.
May 4May 4 Lol Pit to Hamilton “Sainz 1.3 seconds behind” Hamilton “You want me to let him pass as well?”
May 4May 4 Author McLaren winning by 36 seconds. Tell anyone who says they aren't the best cars in the grid to fuck off. Mainly landos bitch ass.

May 4May 4 I think it will be very interesting to see how Norris reacts going forward. Especially if Piastri wins a few more races before Lando wins.
May 4May 4 I wonder too how things will go for Ferrari if they keep fucking up things, especially since they don’t have the car.
May 4May 4 The rest of the teams are praying the changes on the front wings do truly impact McLaren because no one is close to that car right now. Oscar doesn't seemed fazed at all by Max. Watched, learned, set him up for the pass while Lando just about breaks out in hives if he gets near Max on the track.

May 5May 5 If Max falls behind George in the drivers' standings is that enough to trigger the out clause in Max's contract with Red Bull?

No inside info obviously but for no one to be close and no one to figure out how they are doing this after a year is incredible.

Brawn in his book talks about finding a reg that you interpret a certain way to gain an advantage and you keep pushing that advantage until they finally take it away from you. I can't remember the exact wording he uses, but he fully acknowledges they weren't afraid to work in the grey areas.

I'm not clutching my pearls here, just think they are exploiting where they are allowed to as far as they can (and further based on flexi wing / mini DRS decisions)

I'm not clutching my pearls here, just think they are exploiting where they are allowed to as far as they can (and further based on flexi wing / mini DRS decisions) All good and I think they found something that other teams weren't able to take advantage earlier and teams aren't going to spend the resources in the last year of this car when they have the new rides coming out next year. That pretty much leaves other teams crying to the rule makers to take away the advantage when they should be rewarding teams for pushing the envelope on engineering. Reminds me of when Merc came out with the DAS system that gave them an advantage in qualifying and Red Bull said it was no big deal, couldn't replicate it, and whined and complained to get it banned.
May 5May 5 I'd be delighted if they eliminated all technical regs other than those regarding safety. Obviously that won't happen but short of that, the only alternative teams have is to push against them until they're told "no."

Using downforce to cause car body parts to warp in to a shape that allows for more speed is an old trick in F1.
May 5May 5 Why is Miami not a night race? Seems like it would make more sense, the night life nature of the city and it being kinda toasty during the day. 7pm in Miami would be midnight in London though, so that might have something to do with it.

My dream is the only regs needed are related to outwash/backwash for the following car. By the end of a regulation cycle, all progress towards this end has been developed away and the cars can’t follow, overheat, eat their tires etc. Edited May 5May 5 by ChickenSandwich

His patience has to be wearing thin. You can argue that Max drove a near perfect weekend*, and he finished out of the points in the Sprint because of Red Bull's fuck up, and off the podium after a masterful pole. *his one "error" was not letting Lando through easier, knowing it was inevitable. While great television, it allowed Mercedes to catch up to him enough where something like a virtual safety car could--and did--fuck him over.
