It was showing the excellent driving by Piastri in the duel.

He was late on the brake vs Norris, nobody is calling Piastri the last of the late brakers.

I'm the last person here who is going to support Norris btw.

I wasn't pointing at you... I truly didn't understand the point of the Twitter post.

Yes, Oscar drove that as well as anyone could have... I was also pleased to hear Lando accept responsibility for driving like a madman there. The only thing he could do there was crash. He's fortunate he didn't puncture Oscar.

Actually, he could have driven like a person with a fucking clue and not tried to pass on the grass, but understand your point.

I assumed he had more room on the track, but that would have been the most fucking impressive pass in who knows how long if he could have pulled it off, assuming physics doesn't exist lol

Sequence was fantastic. Lando robbed us of more laps of it and a proper finish.

That said, lots of respect for immediately taking full responsibility

The most ridiculous part of that attempt was that even if there was room for him to try the overtake on the grass, all Oscar had to do was keep him on the grass and then Lando would have to back out because he wouldn't be able to brake late while his left wheels are in the grass.  Not only was it a misjudgment, but it wasn't likely to work even if he had the space.

Maybe he got meters and feet confused in his head.  Sure the gap was only 4 feet wide, but in meters there would have been plenty of room.

That's that he SHOULD have done, but once he was there...

Pretty sure that even had he passed on the grass, he'd have to give the spot back. It was just craziness.

Anyone surprised Yuki didn't turn into Pitt and then keep driving as if he simply ran over a ground hog?

I'm just shocked that we're talking about a driver attempting to pass a car by running through grass and Max wasn't involved in any way.

Waaaay too many sides, not enough meats. Rookie move.

One thing is for sure ... if they were at Terry Black's, they paid too much.

Apparently Bottas is in town riding with Lance (Armstrong, not Stroll).

Couldn't be happier for Kubica to win but this was too funny not to post.

He's in Aspen riding with Lance.

Apparently Pitt was in Austin last night for the Austin premier at the Bullock Museum IMAX.

20 years ago today - 2005 USA Grand Prix

Tiago Montiero jumping around on the podium like an idiot while Michael and Rubens looked understandably solemn was pretty funny.

Anyone have any thoughts on the changes for next year and the potential impact on racing.

Not sure how much impact we will see from the cars and tires being smaller.

I am very interested to see how effective the active aero's will be on the car and how they will be utilized by various drivers.  Would think if anyone can maximize this change in car performance it would be Newey with his background and experience.

Curious how the partnership between Red Bull and Ford works out with the new hybrid power units deriving half their power from the battery and the sustainable fuels.  I was reading that the fuel is supposed to be a blend of bio-ethanol, butanol, and synthetic gas which is interesting, but I am curious about Ford's track record of working with developmental fuels.

Fired up to see the movie.  Think I'm going to see it at Bob Bullock in IMAX.

Saw it yesterday at the IMAX in Kyle. It's not the Bullock, but it's the best IMAX screen I've seen outside of the Bullock. And you still get to pick your seats, unlike the Bullock.

Better movie than I was expecting. Better than Rush and Ford v Ferrari imho. Not on the level of LeMans or Grand Prix for me, but I doubt anything ever will be. Funny at times, decent story, fantastic action scenes. Good entertainment. Lots of familiar faces, even some I've met. Some silly Hollywood-ized moments that avid F1 fans will catch, but they aren't big enough to ruin anything. Overall, good flick that didn't make me feel like I wasted my time or money, like so many other movies do these days. F1 is still a stupid movie title though.

Saw it with the wife tonight and sat in those Dbox seats which- pretty cool for this movie! We have watched enough F1 that she commented it was unrealistic because at the start of a race, front tires were outside the grid box [emoji1787]

I was down at the Bullock last night for the Ian Moore outdoor concert and there was a huge line for the 7:30 showing.  I love that theater but it's so dumb that the seats aren't assigned.

The HALO did its job again in the F2 sprint race.

the junior team having both its cars ahead of both of the big red bulls, with yuki out in Q1, is a pretty bad look at red bull's own track

Love me some halo (& IndyCar's aeroscreen). I remember people crying about the way it looked, calling it an abomination, etc. Now that the design is more integrated with the overall design of the car, we hardly notice it. And obtw the list of probable lives saved just keeps growing.

No more loose wheels killing people a la Henry Surtees, etc, etc.

Would it be correct to say Honda is really going to have to go to bat for Yuki. Cuz he’s cooked.

Honda is gone next year, so I doubt they will have much influence on that.

There's a better chance that I'm racing for Red Bull in Australia next year than Yuki.

I finally got the chance to watch Q. Yuki can drive a car. We've all seen it. Just like Perez etc can drive. This RBR is just a shitbox and Max is a freak. Differences in driver performance/ability will always be more apparent when the car is struggling. In Q2 you could see the car sliding all over the place and Max still put it in the top 5. That car is a disaster and looks scary af to drive on the limit - if you can even figure out where the limit is. Seems like a constantly moving target.

I kinda like this Harry Benjamin guy. Seems like they may be grooming him to take over for Crofty. I sure hope they aren't grooming Karun for Martin's spot though. The horror.

eta: grooming. gromming. whatever it takes.

Watching max in qualifying all I could think of was the word “greasy”

I knew it after next year or the following year.  Redbull might be tempted to pull the plug this year, as they have done so in the past

Former Ferrari chief Luca Di Montezemolo has been appointed as a director of the McLaren Group Holdings Limited, which controls the McLaren Automotive business and has a minority stake in the F1 team.

On Friday, McLaren Group Holdings Ltd made a Companies House filing in the UK to appoint Di Montezemelo to its board of directors, which will see the Italian become the ninth director of the company.

Di Montezemolo was a key figure behind Ferrari's F1 resurgence in the late '90s and served as chairman at the Italian powerhouse until 2014.

He has now joined the McLaren Group Holdings Limited, which controls the automotive side of the business and has a minority stake in McLaren Group, which its racing teams fall under.

The appointment comes after Abu Dhabi-based investment firm CYVN Holdings finalised its takeover of McLaren Automotive under the UK-based McLaren Group Holdings Limited umbrella in April

Watching Hamilton holding an umbrella on a sunny day while watching the Vienna Boys Choir seems on point.
